SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Read carefully the installation and operating instructions in the User manual. Do not allow unqualified persons to use this equipment. This will prevent injury to persons and damage to the equipment. The work place must be dry, sufficiently lit, and well-ventilated. Do not forget that breathing carbon monoxide (odorless) can be very dangerous and even fatal.
WHEN WORKING ON THE VEHICLE
- Wear suitable clothing and act in such a way as to prevent industrial accidents.
- Before starting, check to be certain the gear shift is in neutral (or in PARK (P) if the transmission is automatic) put the handbrake on and check to be sure the wheels are completely locked.
- Do not smoke or use naked flames when working on a vehicle.
- Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes from dirt, dust or metal chips.
DISPOSING OF EQUIPMENT
- Do not dispose of this equipment as miscellaneous solid waste but arrange to have collected separately.
- The reuse or correct recycling of electronic equipment (EEE) is important in order to protect the environment and human health.
- In accordance with European Directive WEEE 2012/16/EU, special disposal points are available for waste electrical and electronic equipment.
- Public administrators and producers of electrical and electronic equipment are involved in facilitating the re-use and recovery of waste electrical and electronic equipment through these collection activities and use of appropriate planning arrangements.
- Unauthorized disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment is punishable by law with appropriate penalties.
BATTERIES

The TDR100 contains 2 x AAA batteries which are replaceable.
WARNING -
CAUTION: Risk of fire or explosion if the battery is replaced by an incorrect type.

Batteries must be recycled or disposed of properly. Do not throw batteries away as part of normal refuse disposal.

Do not throw batteries onto an open fire.
CORRECT USE OF THE TOOL
- Do not expose the tool to excessive moisture.
- Do not use the tool near sources of heat or polluting emissions (stoves, ovens, etc.).
- Do not drop the tool.
- Do not allow the tool to come into contact with water or other liquids.
- Do not open the tool or attempt to perform maintenance or repair operations on any internal parts.
- You are advised to keep the packaging and to re-use it if the tool is moved to another site.
POLLUTION DEGREE 2
Only non-conductive POLLUTION occurs except that occasionally a temporary
conductivity caused by condensation is expected.
WHEN USING THE TOOL REMEMBER
Do not subject the tool to magnetic or electric interference.
RECEPTION, MAINTENANCE, AND GUARANTEE
- Inspect the tool when delivered. Damage sustained during shipment is not covered by the guarantee.
- Bartec will accept no responsibility for material or bodily harm resulting from inappropriate use of the product, failure to maintain it, or incorrect storage conditions.
- Bartec provides training for clients desirous of acquiring the knowledge required for the correct use of its products.
- Only personnel authorized by Bartec are permitted to make any repairs that may be necessary.
- This tool is guaranteed against any manufacturing fault for 12 months as of the date of invoice (parts and labor) only if the product has been correctly used. The serial number must stay readable, and proof of purchase must be retained for presentation upon request
OVERVIEW
TOOL LAYOUT
FITTING BATTERIES
- Remove the end cap by pressing in firmly at either side of the end cap.
- Pull outwards to release the end cap from the Tool.
- Insert the batteries as shown.
- Press firmly on either side of the end cap, align the casing & push inwards until it clicks into place
PLEASE NOTE – The Tool light will be solid RED when the battery is low and will flash RED when the battery is critically low, at this point it is recommended to replace the batteries
POWER ON
- Press the power on/off button.
- The GREEN power light will show when turned on
Note, to conserve battery, the Tool will automatically power off if the tread depth measurement reading does not change for a period of 30 seconds. In this case, press the power button to turn the Tool on again
CONNECTING TO THE TPMS TOOL VIA NEW SERVICE – MMY
Make sure your TPMS Tool has version 6.0 software or higher. If not, then you must update the software of your TPMS tool before a connection can be made. On the TPMS tool, select the New Service option from the home screen, followed by the Vehicle Type
Then select your Make, Model, and Year from the following screens.
Depending on the vehicle you are working on, you may be asked to select a qualifier, such as Indirect or Direct TPM system.
This will take you to the Service screen where you will then need to select
the Check option followed by the Wheel & Tyre option
Finally, you will need to select which tyres you are working with then you are
ready to start your readings, Power the Tread tool on. The Tread tool will
automatically connect to the TMPS tool. If you have multiple Tread tools,
check that the serial number shown matches with the label on the back of the
Tool you are using
REGISTRATION
Following a service and transferring of data, your Tool will automatically be registered to the account that your TPMS tool is registered to.
CALIBRATION
This message will appear on the TPMS Tool when you first use the Tool, and
when the Tool needs calibrating
This message will then appear when you press Enter on your TPMS Tool.
Put the tool onto a flat surface, so that the tread pin is pushed in. Press &
hold the power on/off button for 4 seconds or until the GREEN power light
flashes
CORRECT USE OF THE TOOL
Before taking a tread reading, ensure the pin is pushed out by pressing the
manual tread gauge down. Once the pin is in position press the Tool down so
that it is flat to the tyre.
TAKING A TREAD READING
Follow the sequence indicated on the TPMS Tool, starting at the Left Front
(LF) Tyre. Position the Tool correctly on the outer edge of the trye, the Tool
will BEEP when the reading has been taken. After reading, repeat the process
for each position.The number of tread measurements to take can be changed from
3 to 1 within the Tread settings of the TPMS tool
As you read the tread depths, the measurement will appear on the Tread Inspection screen of the TPMS Tool & store the data for the Tyre shop & customer information.
The readings are color-coded.
- RED –The Tyre tread is low and immediate replacement is recommended.
- AMBER –The Tyre is worn and is recommended to be replaced soon.
- GREEN – Tyre tread is OK
After entering the measurement for each wheel, you will be prompted to select one of the following statuses:
