RAINPOINT HCS021FRF Soil Moisture Meter

Product Usage Instructions

Connection

  1. Download the Homgar APP and create your account by searching for “Homgar” in your app store or scanning the QR code provided.
  2. In the APP’s Home Page, locate the “+” button on the top right corner.
  3. Select “Socket Hub” and enter your Wi-Fi information. Make sure you are connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
  4. Plug the socket hub near your router and press and hold the button on the socket hub for about 5 seconds until it quickly blinks.
  5. Check the box on the app and proceed to start searching for devices.
  6. When the hub is successfully connected, click the “+” button on the top right corner of the APP home page to add devices or use Sub-devices on the hub’s home page to add devices.
  7. To add HCS021FRF soil sensor, find “Soil Sensor” or its icon and insert 3 new AA 1.5V alkaline batteries (not included) into the sensor.
  8. After successfully connecting, the real-time surface temperature, soil moisture, and light intensity will be displayed on the device home page.

Troubleshooting

Problem: Fail to connect with the hub

  • Possible Factors:
    • Unstable Wi-Fi signal.
    • Distance between sensor and hub is too far.
  • Solution:
    • Try connecting again by holding the button.
    • Stay close to the hub while connecting.

Problem: Lose connection with the APP

  • Possible Factors:
    • Hub disconnected.
    • Unstable Wi-Fi signal.
  • Solution:
    • Take out the soil from the soil sensor and replace the batteries with brand new ones.
    • Check the hub and reconnect it if disconnected. Then hold the button on the sensor to reconnect.
    • Try connecting again by holding the button.

Problem: Hub disconnection

  • Solution:
    1. Check if the router is working normally.
    2. If there was a power shutdown, reconnect the socket hub.
    3. Check if the Wi-Fi signal is unstable.
    4. If the distance between the hub and the router is too far, move the hub closer to establish a more stable connection.

Connection

  1. Download the APP and register your homgar account Search for "Homgar " and download the APP

  2. Find “+” button on the top right corner of the APP’s Home Page. Select “Socket Hub”, then enter the Wi-Fi information and go next. (Only support 2.4Ghz WiFi)

  1. Plug on the socket hub near the router, press and hold the button on the socket hub for about 5 seconds until it quickly blinks. Select the check box and go "NEXT"to start searching devices.

  1. When device found, please click “+” to add the device and edit the device name as your like. Then you successfully add the hub to your APP.

  1. After the hub is successfully connected. Select the"+" button on the top right corner of the APP home page to add device, or you can go to the hub’s home page and use "Sub-devices"to add devices.

  1. Find “Soil Sensor” or the icon to add HCS021FRF soil sensor. And then insert 3 new AA 1.5V alkaline batteries(not included) to the sensor.
    Tips:Use the tool to unscrew the four screws of the back cover

  1. When the red light flashes rapidly, select “Next” on the app and start searching for the device.

  1. After successfully connecting, the real-time surface temperature,soil moisture, and light intensity will display on the device home page.

Note:

  1. Please make sure you are using 2.4GHz when connecting devices to the APP.
  2. Keep the hub always under 2.4GHz Wi-Fi to keep the connection well.
  3. If you miss the connection for the first time, please hold the button on the timer to start pairing mode again and reconnect on the APP.

Installation

  1. Insert the batteries and tighten the screw

  2. Dig an appropriate hole that can completely bury the soil probe

  3. Bury the sensor in the soil and ensure that the sensor is vertically downward.
    Tip: For accuracy, make sure that the part of the soil probe marked below “BEST” is buried in the soil.
