WARM TIPS
PLEASE READ BEFORE USING
Don’t use the water timer when the temperature is below 37’F(3’C), and please
store the timer indoors to avoid potential freezing damage.
The filter traps dirt particles, preventing them from entering the timer and
causing clogging. Please clean the filter regularly and replace it if worn.
To ensure a longer lifespan, please use 2 new AM alkaline batteries (not
included). Don’t mix new and old alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or
rechargeable batteries.
Please activate the water timer before first use or after a period of
inactivity (Refer to page 6: ACTIVATE THE TIMER BEFORE USE).
Only use with clean cold water.

PRODUCT INSTALLATION
INSTALLING THE BATTERIES
- Remove the battery compartment cover on the back of the timer.
- Insert 2 new AAA (1.5V) alkaline batteries (not included).
- Put the battery compartment cover back on the timer and press firmly to make sure it is completely sealed.
Note:
- Firmly restore the battery compartment cover to ensure water resistance.
- When the timer is not used for a long time, please remove the batteries and dispose of them properly.
- Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on display.
- Don’t dispose of batteries in fire. Batteries may explode or leak.
- To ensure a longer lifespan, please use 2 new AAA alkaline batteries (not included). Don’t mix new and old alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable batteries.
INSTALLING THE TIMER
- Turn off the garden faucet.
- Wrap Teflon Tape around the faucet threads.
- Screw the timer to the garden faucet and make the display is as vertical as possible to the ground to prevent rainwater from accumulating and leaking into the interior.
- Wrap Teflon Tape around the threads of the timer outlets.
- Screw the garden hoses to the timer outlets.
- Turn on the faucet after programming the timer.
Tips: If the connection between the timer and the faucet or hose is not tight or leaking, wrap more Teflon Tape(thread seal tape) to make them tight.
- Please do not use tools, only install the timer by hand.
- When expecting freezing temperatures, timers should be removed from the hose faucet and stored indoors to avoid potential freeze damage.
- Please install the filter properly and keep it clean as follows.
ACTIVATE THE TIMER BEFORE USE
Please activate the device before using it for the first time or after a period of inactivity.
- Keep the garden faucet turned off.
- Turn the timer dial to “ON”.
- Press and hold the “MANUAL” button for 3- 5s to enter Manual Watering Mode.
- Re-press the “ZONE” button twice to select both Zone 1 and Zone 2. When the screen flashes, immediately press the “OK” button to run manual watering.
- After hearing 2 “click” sounds or waiting for about 5 secs, the valves in the timer are opened, and then turn the dial to “OFF” to close the valves;
- Repeat the step 2-5 for 3-5 times.
- Test Turn on the faucet a little bit, and then repeat the step 2-5 to check if the water flow out or shut off as expected.
If yes, the timer valves are normal, please use it with confidence!
If not, please repeat the step 2-5 several times or contact RAIN POINT support
team immediately.
Note: When testing, please keep away from the water timer outlet to avoid
being splashed and wet.
PROGRAMMING THE TIMER
UNDERSTANDING ZONES
This is a two-zone timer allowing you to water two different areas from the
same faucet. Each zone can be programmed with independent start time, how
long, and how often.
Note: Dual zones operating simultaneously have lower water pressure than
single zone because the water pressure is divided between the two zones.
Please design the program separately for each ZONE:
- First, keep ZON E 1 and complete the settings, following the steps 1- 4 below. Then turn the dial to “ON” to save the changes.
- Press “ZONE” button to select ZONE 2, and follow steps 2-4 to set up. Turn the dial to “ON” to save all the plans.
STEP 1: SET CLOCK
- Turn the dial to “SET CLOCK”. Use”+” or”-” button to select 24-hour or 12-hour format and press “OK” button to confirm
- Use”+” or”-” button to set the current exact time. If you choose the 12- hour format, please note the AM and PM.
- Use the “OK” button to confirm and switch between hours or minutes.
- Turn the dial clockwise to save the changes in this STE P and go to the next STEP.
TIPS: When the setup of this STEP is finished, please turn the dial to save the changes instead of press the “OK” button. If you press the “OK” button after setting, it will return to the previous setting instead of saving it.
STEP 2: START TIME
- Turn dial to” START TIME”.
- Use “+” and”-“buttons to set your start time.
- Use “OK” button to switch time( Hours or Minutes).
- Turn the dial clockwise to save the changes in this STEP and go to the next STEP.
TIPS: When the setup of this STEP is finished, please turn the dial to save the changes instead of press the “OK” button. If you press the “OK” button after setting, it will return to the previous setting instead of saving it.
STEP 3: HOW LONG
- Turn dial to “HOW LONG”.
- Use “+”and”-“buttons to select watering duration, from 1 minute to 3 hours 59 minutes.
- Use “OK” button to switch to( Hours or Minutes).
- Turn the dial clockwise to save the changes in this STEP and go to the next STEP.
TIPS: When the setup of this STEP is finished, please turn the dial to save the changes instead of press the “OK” button. If you press the “OK” button after setting, it will return to the previous setting instead of saving it.
STEP 4: HOW OFTEN

Turn dial to” HOW OFTEN”.

Use “+” and”-“buttons, to set your watering frequency. You can choose to water every 1 to 12 hours, or every 1 to 7 days.
(NOTE: 1 is every day, 2 is every other day. etc.) -
Turn the dial clockwise to save the changes in this STEP and go to the next STEP.
TIPS: When the setup of this STEP is finished, please turn the dial to save the changes instead of press the “OK” button. If you press the “OK” button after setting, it will return to the previous setting instead of saving it.
Examples of watering frequency of every 1 day, every 2 days and every 3
days:
EVERY1 DAY
EVERY2 DAY
EVERY3DAY
STEP 5: WATERING
- Turn dial to “ON”.
- The LCD screen will display the current time and the next watering start time in Zone 1, and then display the current time and the next watering start time in Zone 2.
CONGRATULATIONS!
Your timer has now been programmed successfully!
It will automatically start watering based on the programmed start time,
duration and frequency. Now you can keep the faucet open and trust the timer
to water!
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
RAIN DELAY MODE
Rain delay allows you to postpone watering on both zones for a set period of time without interrupting your set watering schedule. To access the rain delay, follow the steps below.
- When the dial in the “ON” position, press and hold the “DELAY” button for 3-5s to enter the delay mode.
- In Delay Mode, you can find the option “24H” flashing on the screen. Press”+” and “-” to select delay period of 24H, 48H and 72H.
- Press “OK” button to run the delay function, then the screen will show a countdown of the remaining delay.
- To cancel rain delay, hold the “DELAY” button for 3-5s again to resume your programmed watering schedule.
Note:
Please remember to press the “OK” button after selecting the rain delay time
to start the rain delay program. Otherwise, the rain delay setting will
automatically exit after the screen flashes for 3-5s.
MANUAL/HAND WATERING
This function allows you to manually water without interrupting your set watering schedule. To access this feature, please follow the steps below.
- Turn the dial to “ON”.
- Press and hold the “MANUAL” button for 3-5s to enter the Manual Watering Mode.
- Press the “ZONE” button to select which zone you want to use.
- Use the”+” or”-” button to adjust the manual watering time from 1 minute to 8 hours.
- The default watering time is 10 minutes.
- Press and hold the”+” or”-” button to quickly increase or decrease the time.
- Press the “OK” button immediately when the screen flashes to confirm and start the manual watering. The screen will show the pattern and the remaining time for manual watering.
- To stop the manual watering, hold the “MANUAL” button for 3-5s to exit the manual watering mode and restore the original watering program. (Or turn the dial to “OFF” to stop the manual watering, and then turn the dial to “ON” again to restore the original watering program.)
NOTE: Please remember to press the “OK” button after setting the manual watering time to start manual watering. Otherwise, the manual watering setting will be automatically exited after the screen flashes for about 3-5s.
USE ONLY ONE OF THE ZONES
If you want to use only ZONE 1 and close ZONE 2, please set it up as follows.
- Turn the dial to “HOW LONG” and press “ZONE” to select ZONE 2.
- Press the”+” or”-” button to adjust the Hour until the screen displays “00:00”.
- Turn the dial to “ON” to save the changes.
It means ZONE 2 is off and you can select ZONE 1 to program schedule as needed and then the timer will only run ZONE 1. If you only want to use ZONE 2 and close ZONE 1, the same applies.
OFF MODE
- If you wish to stop all watering plan for an extended period, turn the dial to “OFF”. (Your settings are saved)
- The timer will not water automatically while in OFF mode. (The screen will display the word OFF in large letters)
- To start watering automatically again, turn the dial back to “ON” to resume your programmed watering schedule.
BATTERY STATUS
Battery status will be displayed as following:
Full
LOW Power
Note: When the low battery indicator appears, the valve will close
automatically to avoid leakage. Please replace the battery to recovery.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Issue | Possible Cause | Advice |
---|---|---|
The water inlet leakage |
- No filter or not be placed horizontally
- The faucet is not the Right standard 3/4″
|
- Add filter and make sure it’s placed horizontally in the inlet.
- Make sure the faucet is a 3/4″ faucet.
- Strengthen it with Seal tape.
The water doesn’t stop/flow out|
- Long-term storage and transportation make the valve inactive
- Valve blockage
|
- Keep the tap turned off and turn the timer dial to ON;
- Select the zone you want to fix (ZONE 1 or ZONE 2) and run manual watering for 3-5s and stop it ;
- Repeat the Step 2 for 5 to 7 times;
- Try using it normally.
Dial or button problems|
- The dial/valve is stuck
- Accidentally holding the OK button while inserts the batteries
|
- Same procedure as above.
- Turn the dial to the OFF to check if the valve can be closed.
Short battery life|
- Mixed use of old and new batteries
- Used the carbon batteries or rechargeable batteries
|
- Use brand new alkaline batteries.
- Rechargeable batteries and carbon batteries have a short and unstable battery life, please use the alkaline batteries instead of them.
Low water pressure|
- Filter blockage
- Inlet pressure not sufficient to support watering
|
- Check if the filter is clogged, if so, clean or replace the filter.
- Make sure the timer is installed properly and not cross-threaded.
- Installation of a booster pump or other auxiliary equipment of increasing pressure.

The timer does not water|
- The dial turn to OFF position
- The faucet is not turned on
- The battery is dead, it shuts down automatically

- Rotate the dial to ON position.
- After finishing all settings, turn on the faucet.
- Replace with new alkaline batteries.
- Waiting for the plan to resume again.
LCD display became blank|
- The LCD temporarily does not display under long-term exposure
- The battery is dead, it shuts down automatically
|
- Avoid long-term exposure under the sunlight.
- Replace with new alkaline batteries.
CLEANING YOUR TIMER
After a period of use, impurities or dirt in the water may accumulate in the timer. Therefore, the timer should be cleaned regularly to ensure its proper operation. Please follow these steps to clean the timer.
- Turn off the garden faucet and remove the timer. Check whether the filter at the timer water inlet has accumulated impurities.
- If the filter is dirty, please take it out of the timer and rinse it with running water.
- Turn on the Manual Watering Mode of the timer to open the valve and check whether the water pipe of the timer is blocked. If it is blocked, please clean it gently with a small cleaning brush.
WARNINGS
- For outdoor use only. Placing the timer in the sheltered outdoors will prolong its lifetime.
- To avoid damage, please tighten it without using tools.
- The filter should be placed horizontally in the water inlet to prevent leakage.
- When low power, please replace the batteries to avoid the interruption of normal operation; when replacing the batteries, please make sure that the battery tray is dry.
- When the timer is not in use, please remove the batteries and store it indoors.
- Don’t use the timer under the temperature more than 120’F(50’C), or less than 38’F(3’C).
- Don’t subject the product to extreme force and shock.
- Severe electrical shock could result if water is sprayed into outlets or sources of electrical current Never immerse the product in water.
