General operation of the electrical assistance

  • The power assisted bike can be used with or without assistance by pressing the Command button «C» and altering the modes 0-1-2-3. The selectable 0-1-2-3 assistance modes selectable on the «C» Command button allows you to choose a power assist level in addition to the effort provided. Power assistance will only work if you are pedalling, with a selected mode other than 0. Assistance cuts off when the speed is above 25km/h. In case of intensive use and in exceptional climatic conditions, assistance may be cut off to safeguard the whole system.
  • The hub motor «B» will provide more and less power depending on the selected assistance mode and the pedaling cadence .

Power assistance does not kick in in the following situations:

  • The riding speed is above 25km/h
  • You’re not pedaling
  • Remaining charge of the battery A
  • «0» is the power assistance mode selected
  • When the control button is switched off
  • The A-weighted emission sound pressure level at the driver ears is less than 70 dB (A).

MOTOR

  • Motor «B» of your power-assisted bike is a brushless-type motor with mechanical reduction, it allows you to have a high torque even at low speed. Thanks to an internal freewheel, you can ride without assistance (turned off or >25km/h) without any additional drag. So motor noise in use does not exceed 55db. The nominal power of the motor is limited to 250W maximum.

COMMAND BUTTON

  • Electric assistance is controlled by the command button or by the E shifters placed on the handlebar. Information is reported by a specific color code.

  • By virtue of this warranty, DECATHLON offers either the replacement by an equivalent of the frame, rigid fork, handlebars or stem, or their repair, within a reasonable time period, after being brought to a DECATHLON retail store repair shop. It is specified that travel and transportation costs remain the responsibility of the customer. However, this contractual obligation will not apply in the event of poor maintenance or misuse of DECATHLON bikes, as defined in the user manual of the product in question. To benefit from the warranty covering one of the parts listed above, you must simply visit the repair shop of a DECATHLON retail store, bringing either your DECATHLON store loyalty card or your warranty certificate with you. DECATHLON reserves the right to verify that all conditions of the lifetime warranty have been met and to implement all due necessary measures to verify this.
  • It is also specified that the lifetime warranty does not exclude the application of the legal guarantee(s) provided for under the French Consumer Code (Code de la consummations) and Civil Code (Code civil), namely:
  • Article L. 211-4 of the Consumer Code: «The seller must deliver goods in conformity with the contract and take responsibility for any lack of conformity present at the time of delivery. The seller is also held liable for any lack of conformity caused by the packaging, the assembly instructions or the installation if he/she was made responsible for the latter under the contract or if it was conducted under his/her responsibility».
  • Article L. 211-5 of the Consumer Code: «To be compliant with the contract, goods must: Be suitable for the use normally expected for similar goods and, if necessary: match the description provided by the seller and possess the qualities that he/she presented to the buyer in the form of a sample or a model; display the qualities that a buyer can legitimately expect in view of public statements made by the seller, the producer, or his/her representative, notably in advertising or labeling; Or display the features defined by a mutual agreement between the parties or be suitable for any special use sought by the buyer, made known to, and agreed upon by, the seller».
  • Article L. 211-12 of the Consumer Code: «Legal action prompted by lack of conformity lapses two years after the date of delivery of the goods.»
  • Article 1641 of the Civil Code: «The seller is bound to the warranty on account of hidden defects of the item sold which render it unfit for the use for which it was intended, or which so impair that use that the buyer would not have acquired it, or would only have paid a lesser price for it, had he/she been aware of them.
  • Article 1648 paragraph 1 of the Civil Code: «Legal action prompted by unacceptable defects must be brought by the buyer within a period of two years from the date of discovery of the defect».
