Danger of Electrocution
This device is designed to control external lighting in appliances and operate in their housing. Faulty connection or mismisuse may result in fire or electric shock. All installations or modifications on this device must be performed by a qualified licensed electrician and conform to national regulations. Even when this device is turned off, voltage may be present at its terminals. Any wiring maintenance or modifications must always be performed with the voltage disconnected(disable the fuse). This device must always use the same L and IN terminal power source.

  1. Switch off the power supply by switch off the main breaker or fuse.

  2. Connect the Pico switch according to one of the diagrams:
    Fig. 1: Using a single toggle or momentary switch
    Fig. 2: Using a double momentary or separate single pole toggle switches (optional – S2 can be used for scene activation]

  3. Switch back on the power supply.

  4. The LED of the Pico Switch should pulse slowly now.

Connecting Pico Switch to your hub

Aeotec Smart Home Hub or SmartThings Hub:

  • From the Smart Things dashboard, tap+.
  • Tap Add Device, then “By brand”.
  • Find and select Aeotec.
  • Tap Switch for Dimmer.
  • Tap Aeotec Pico Switch [or Aeotec Switch I Dimmer].
  • Tap Start, then follow the remaining instructions to pair Pico Switch.
  • When prompted by your hub, tap the Action Button on Pico Switch twice, the LED will flash rapidly while it attempts to connect.
  • For Home Assistant, Hubitat or other Hubs follow the extended instructions in the QR code below.

Extended Manual:

Connection LED states

If the steps were followed correctly, the LED will change from a rapid flash to one of these LED states depending on success or failure.

  • Success:  LED will have a solid light based on the state of the switch output [OFF- led off, ON – led on).
  • Fail: LED will return to fading in and out.

Default External Switch Mode

The default external switch setting utilizes a general single-pole toggle switch. To change the switch type follow the extended manual to configure Pico Switch, which links you can find by scanning the QR code in the Extended Manual section above.

Not connecting? Try these steps to reset the device

  1. Press and hold the Action Button for 10+ seconds to manually factory reset the Pico Switch.
  2. When the LED fades in and out, the reset is successful.
  3. Try connecting Pico Switch again. Consider a closer location for connecting it, then move it into its installation location.
