Installation Precautions
Before starting the installation process, please read and follow these precautions:
- Disconnect power at the main fuse box before installation.
- Installation should be done by the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all local code specifications.
- If you are not familiar with code requirements, it is recommended to hire a certified electrician for installation.
Assembly and Mounting
- Hold the mounting bracket (A) with the two holes on the top and bottom, and ensure the head of the attached ground screw is facing outward.
- Carefully pull the house wires through the round hole in the mounting bracket (A) and align the holes in the bracket with the junction box holes.
- Thread each junction box screw (B) into the corresponding holes in the mounting bracket (A) and junction box. Tighten the screws to secure the mounting bracket to the junction box. Make sure the house wires are pulled completely through the hole in the mounting bracket, avoiding pinching them between the bracket and wall.
Wire Connections
- Strip 3/4 of insulation from the ends of the fixture wires.
- Slightly loosen the ground screw on the mounting bracket (A), leaving it attached. Wrap the house ground wire (copper) around the ground screw, leaving enough wire to connect it to the fixture ground wire. Twist the ends of the fixture and house ground wires together and secure them with a wire nut (C). Completely tighten the wire nut.
- Twist the end of the house lead wire (black) and the fixture lead wire together. Secure them with a wire nut (C). Repeat this step for the house neutral wire (white) and fixture neutral wire. Completely tighten the wire nuts.
- Wrap electrical tape (not included) around the wire nuts and wires to ensure a secure connection.
- Carefully push all wires and wire nuts into the junction box.
Mounting Backplate
Place the backplate (D) over the mounting bracket (A). Ensure that no wires are pinched between the backplate and wall.
