INSTALLATION STEPS

  1. Carefully pull house wires out of junction box so they are easily accessible during installation.

  2. Position mounting bracket (A) so threaded ends of attached fixture mounting screws (E) are facing down towards the floor.

  3. Carefully pull house wires through one of the two large holes in the mounting bracket (A). Align holes in mounting bracket (A) with holes in the junction box.

  4. Thread each junction box screw (B) into holes in the mounting bracket (A) and into holes in the junction box. Tighten junction box screws (B) to secure mounting bracket (A) to the junction box.
CAUTION: Make sure house wires are pulled completely through hole in the mounting bracket. DO NOT pinch wires between the mounting bracket and ceiling.
CAUTION: At least one 6 inch stem must be used.

  5. Carefully push fixture wires up through the bottom of 6 inch stem (N). Pull fixture wires out of top of 6 inch stem (N). Screw the bottom of 6-inch stem (N) onto top of the fixture body (O).

  6. Determine the desired hanging height of the fixture. Select the number of stems (M) to achieve that height.

  7. Carefully push fixture wires up through the end of one 12-inch stem (M). Thread end of the stem (M) onto the top of stem (N).

  8. Carefully push fixture wires through the remaining stems (M). Screw stems (M) together keeping fixture wires taut. DO NOT pinch fixture wires between stems.

  9. Push fixture wires up through end of swivel (S) on canopy (D). Screw top of last stem onto the end of the swivel (S) on canopy (D).elk-HOME-89620-1-Pendant-Light-FIG- \(2\)

  10. Strip 3/4 of insulation from ends of fixture wires.

  11. Slightly loosen the ground screw on the mounting bracket (A). Do not completely remove the ground screw. Wrap house ground wire (copper) around the ground screw, leaving enough ground wire to attach to the fixture ground wire. Twist the end of the fixture ground wire and end of the house ground wire together. Twist wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires. Completely tighten wire nut (C). Reference chart below for correct wire connections.
Connect Supply (House) Ground Copper Wire to:

    Bare Copper Wire or,
    Bare Silver Wire or,
    Green Insulated Wire.

  12. Twist the end of the house lead wire (black) and end of the fixture lead wire together. Twist wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires. Completely tighten wire nut (C). Twist the end of the house neutral wire (white) and the end of the fixture neutral wire together. Twist wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires. Completely tighten wire nut (C). Reference chart to the right for correct wire connections.

  13. Wrap electrical tape (not included) around wire nuts (C) and wires. Ensure wires are securely fastened into wire nuts.

  14. Carefully push all wires and wire nuts into the junction box.

  1. Carefully raise the fixture up to the ceiling. Place canopy (D) over mounting bracket (A). Pass holes in canopy (D) over ends of fixture mounting screws (E).
  2. Screw one threaded cap (F) onto the end of each fixture mounting screw (E). Tighten threaded caps (F) to secure the fixture to the ceiling. DO NOT over-tighten.
  3. Raise shade (K) up to the fixture. Pass hole in top of shade (K) over the socket. Thread socket ring (L) onto the socket. Tighten socket ring (L) to secure shade (K) in place.
  4. Screw recommended bulb (E26 Edison bulb type, not included) into the socket. Verify the correct bulb wattage marked on the socket of the fixture.
