4.3
Carrying out a breath sample
A new mouthpiece must be inserted for each person who provides a breath test. For hygiene reasons, hold the mouthpiece only on the grip zones.
Do not allow any high alcohol concentrations on the sensor, e.g., by rinsing the mouth with a high proof alcohol shortly before the measurement, as this will shorten the service life of the sensor.
7
en Use
Procedure 1. Remove the safety cap from the top of the device. 2. Insert a new
mouthpiece (order no. 83 25 250) into the mouthpiece
receptacle (see Page 2). For hygiene reasons, hold the mouthpiece only on the
grip zones. 3. If the device is switched off. keep the button pressed for
approx. 1 second until the startup screen is displayed. 4. READY is displayed
after approx. 4 seconds. The instrument is ready to measure. 5. Take a deep
breath and blow evenly and without interruptions into the mouthpiece. Do not
cover the outlet opening on the mouthpiece with your hand. You have to blow a
volume of 1.2 liter and at least 1.6 seconds for a valid test. If blowing
normally this will take 2-3 seconds. A continuous tone sounds simultaneously
and stops when the test parameters are fulfilled and the device has taken the
sample.
The test result is displayed after a few seconds (depending on the instrument
temperature and the measured concentration).
In case of a negative alcohol test, 0.00 will be displayed. In case of a
positive test, the measured alcohol level will be displayed.
Carry out another measurement To prepare a new measurement, press the button
briefly.
After the sensor’s recovery time (see “Technical data” on Page 15), READY is
displayed and the device is ready to use again.
4.4

1. Pull the mouthpiece upwards out of the mouthpiece receptacle by holding it
on the grip zones on the left and on the right side.
2. Dispose of the mouthpiece in accordance with local regulations.
