Product Usage Instructions

Installation – Hinge Side

  1. Place the template with the face up on the side of the opening where the gate will hinge from. The bottom edge should be touching the floor.
  2. Position the template at least 2 inches (5 cm) away from the edge of the top stair.
  3. Ensure that the template is straight and tape it in place.
  4. Measure the distance from the centre line to the wall edge and make a note of this distance for later use with latch plates.
  5. Using a pointed screw, punch through the template to mark 4 drill locations.
  6. Remove the template for later use.
  7. Drill four 1/8-inch holes 1.5 – 2 inches deep.
  8. Follow the remaining user guide instructions for hardware installation.

Installation – Opposite Hinge Side

  1. Place the template with the face up on the side of the opening opposite to the hinges. The bottom edge should be touching the floor.
  2. Measure the distance from the centre line to the wall edge. This distance should be the same as the measurement on the hinge side. Ensure that the template is straight and tape it in place.
  3. Using a pointed screw, punch through the template to mark 4 drill locations.
  4. Remove the template.
  5. Drill four 1/8-inch holes 1.5 – 2 inches deep.
  6. Follow the remaining user guide instructions for hardware installation.

CAUTION: Only install hardware into stair posts, door frames, or wood studs behind the wall.

To Install

  4. Measure the distance from the centre line to the wall edge and make a note of the distance for later use with latch plates.
  5. Using a pointed screw, punch through the template to mark 4 drill locations.
  6. Remove the template for later use.
  7. Drill (4) 1/8” holes 1.5″ – 2″ deep.
  8. Follow the remaining user guide instructions for hardware installation.

GATE STOP TEMPLATE

To Install

  1. Place this side of the template face up on the side of the opening opposite hinges.
    The bottom edge should be touching the floor.

  2. Measure the distance from the centre line to the wall edge; this distance should be the same as the hinge side measurement.
    Ensure the template is straight and taped in place.

  3. Using a pointed screw, punch through the template to mark 4 drill locations.

  4. Remove template.

  5. Drill (4) 1/8” holes 1.5″ – 2″ deep.

  6. Follow remaining user guide instructions for hardware installation.
