  • A HEPA filter is a mechanical filter that captures 99.97% of airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns e.g. dust mites, pet dander, mold, and pollen.

  • The nightlight LED is not replaceable.

Download Safety 1st App
Download the Safety 1st Connected app by searching for Safety 1st in the app store.

Setup

  1. Remove air purifier and HEPA filter from packaging.
  2. Install HEPA filter.
  3. Plug air purifier into power source. The Wi-Fi indicator will flash when ready for pairing.
  4. On your mobile device, follow the step by step instructions in the Safety 1st Connected app for setup.
  5. Once paired, the Wi-Fi indicator on the control panel will light up (white).
  6. Explore the features and functionality within the Safety 1st Connected app.

Wi-Fi Connectivity
A 2.4GHz Wi-Fi internet connection is required.
Check the Wi-Fi signal strength from your router.
To reduce signal interference, avoid placing the air purifier near major electrical appliances, large metal or concrete surfaces.

To Install/Change the Air Filter

WARNING:
Turn off and unplug air purifier before removing base.

  1. Ensure the air purifier is turned OFF and unplugged.

  2. Remove base
    Hold air purifier upside down. Twist base counter-clockwise (Figure A). Set base aside (Figure B).

  3. Insert filter:
    Remove plastic bag surrounding filter. Place filter inside upper portion with the tab facing you (Figure C).

  4. Assemble base to upper portion:
    Insert base back into the air purifier and twist clockwise (Figure D).

  5. Select a location:
    Choose a flat and level surface.

  6. Connect to power:
    Plug into a 120VAC electrical outlet.

  7. Turn on:
    Press the Power On/Off button.

Filter Timer Reset

Once you replace the filter, you must reset the filter replacement timer.
Long press Fan button for 5 seconds. A sound will prompt
that the reset is successful, and the flashing stops.
NOTE: The Fan light will change to red if you do not reset the timer.

Placement

Determine the ideal location for the air purifier ensuring that the power cord remains at least 3 ft (0.9 m) away from crib.
The air purifier should be placed on the floor or another flat surface, such as a side table. DO NOT place on a carpet.

WARNING

  • STRANGULATION HAZARD – Children have STRANGLED in cords. Keep this cord out of reach of children (more than 3 feet (0.9 m) away). Do not remove this tag. NEVER use an extension cord with the power cord.

To Adjust Settings

You can adjust settings directly on the unit or by using the Safety 1st Connected app.

Short press the Power button to power on/off.
Long press for 5 seconds to enter pairing mode .
Long press for 10 seconds restore to factory settings, makes a sound, power icon blinks 3 times.
NOTE: Memory will recall your last settings when next powered on.

Press Fan Speed button to cycle through low, medium, high and off.

Press Nightlight button to set brightness to low, medium, high and off.

Press Soothing Sounds /White Noise button to turn it on.
Press again to cycle through volume volume level 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, then off.
Long press to cycle through available sounds and to turn off
Short press to adjust the volume.

Sleep Mode keeps indicator lights off unless they are pressed.
Short press to enable/disable sleep mode.
Long press to enable/disable child lock. Any button pressed will be locked when enabled.

Press Timer button to cycle through settings:
Naptime, Bedtime and off.
Left LED – Naptime timer (2 hours)
Right LED – Bedtime timer (12 hours
)
Both LEDs – Custom timer (in-app only)
*Configurable in-app.

Filter Replacement Reminder

When the cumulative use time of the filter reaches 1,000 hours, the Fan icon turns red.
NOTE: The filter replacement timing is based on usage. 1,000 hours would equate to about 90 days with daily usage of 11 hours. 24 hours continuous usage would require a filter change earlier.

  • Adult assembly is required.

When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury to person, including the following:

  • Use appliance only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons. The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the manufacturer may cause hazards. DO NOT use outdoors.
  • To avoid fire or shock hazard, plug the appliance directly into a 120VAC electrical outlet. DO NOT plug in the cord with wet hands.
  • Keep the cord out of heavy traffic areas. To avoid fire hazard, NEVER put the cord under rugs or near heat registers.
  • DO NOT operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, if the appliance malfunctions, or if it has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Return appliance to manufacturer for examination, electrical or mechanical adjustment, or repair.
  • DO NOT attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or mechanical functions on this unit. Doing so will void your warranty. The inside of the unit contains no user serviceable parts. All servicing should be performed by qualified personnel only.
  • Air purifier should be unplugged when not in use.
  • DO NOT place air purifier near heat sources such as stoves, radiators, and heaters. DO NOT place on a carpet.
  • DO locate your air purifier on an inside wall near an electrical outlet. The air purifier should be at least 12 inches (30.5 cm) away from the wall for best results.
  • NEVER tilt, move, or attempt to change the filter while it is operating. Shut off and unplug before removing the filter or moving the unit.
  • DO NOT attempt to change the filter without first unplugging the unit from its electrical outlet. Failure to heed this warning may cause personal injury. Be sure to unplug the unit by pulling on the plug and not the cord.
  • DO NOT block air inlet or outlet while unit is running.
  • ALWAYS place air purifier on a firm, flat, level surface.
  • NEVER attempt to wash the filter or clean the filter. ALWAYS replace the filter with a new one.

STRANGULATION HAZARD! Children have STRANGLED in cords.
NEVER place cords within 3 feet of the crib.
DO NOT use with an extension cord.

Care and Maintenance

NOTE: This is an electrical appliance and requires attention when in use.
DO NOT WASH FILTER.
Remove any excess dust from fan by using compressed air. Remove filter and blow compressed air into the unit.

Disposal

At the end of the product life cycle, you should not dispose of this product with normal household waste. Take this product to a collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment.
Some of the product materials can be re-used if you take them to a recycling point.
By reusing some parts or raw materials from used products you make an important contribution to the protection of the environment. Please contact your recycling center in case you need more information on the collection points in your area.

THE USER SHOULD NOT ATTEMPT TO SERVICE OR REPAIR THE AIR PURIFIER. ALL SERVICING SHOULD BE REFERRED TO CONSUMER CARE.

It is essential to check reception regularly.
Air purifier uses encrypted transmission over FCC managed frequencies.
Always remember to password protect your Wi-Fi router.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  • VENTILATION: DO NOT block ventilation openings. DO NOT place on a bed, sofa, rug or similar surface. DO NOT place in a bookcase or cabinet that may restrict air flow.
  • HEAT: The air purifier should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other appliances that produce heat. Also keep these components out of direct sunlight.
  • POWER CORD PROTECTION: The power supply cord should be routed so that it is not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed upon or against it. Pay particular attention to the cord at the plug, convenience receptacle, and at the point it exits from the air purifier.

Product FAQs

Why can I not connect the air purifier to my home Wi-Fi?

• The Wi-Fi Indicator must be flashing to be in pairing mode. If it is not flashing, long press the power button for 5 seconds to enter pairing mode.
• Follow in-app instructions to pair the device to your home wireless network. Ensure the device is within 20’ (6m) of your wireless router and your smartphone is connected to the same network. You must be using a 2.4GHz wireless network to pair this device.

Can I pair my device with more than one account?

• Sharing access to your device with other caregivers is easy. Access the device settings screen, select “sharing & users” then tap “add a new user” and complete the information.
• To pair the device with a new account owner, you must factory reset the device by holding the power button for 10 seconds.

Can the HEPA filter be washed?

• Large debris can be carefully removed from the HEPA filter using compressed air. When the filter has reached the end of its recommended usage period, replace it with Safety 1st model IH593 or IH596. Do not wash the filter.

How often should the HEPA filter be replaced?

• The included HEPA filter has a lifecycle of 1,000 hours or about 90 days when using the fan/air purifier feature for 11 hours a day. When it’s time to replace the filter, the fan speed icon will glow red. You can also opt-in to receive push notification reminders on your smartphone.

What is Sleep Mode?

• Sleep mode will turn off all indicator lights on the device and continue to allow you to customize your preferences for device functionality including fan speed, soothing sounds, nightlight or timer.
