Tera P1-R16 Wireless Long Range Paging
INSTRUCTIONS:
-
Place all the pagers in the charging slots to charge 20 minutes before setting them up.
-
Power up: Place all the pagers into the charging slots.
All the pagers will power up when the transmitter is connected to a power supply.
If the transmitter is shut off with the command, please unplug the charger and plug ii back in to activate the transmitter. -
Power off: Place all the pagers into the charging slots.
Enter 999 with the number pad and then press [CALL] button.
When the pagers are shut down, the LEDs on the pagers will turn off and the display will show 999 and keep flashing until the power supply is cutoff. -
How to change pagers settings: Press [CALL] button and [DEL] button simultaneously, and the display reads F1. Enter 1, 2, 3 or 4 on the number pad to select an option, then press [CALL] button to change the settings in the option. If you have changed any settings,
be sure to press [CALL] to save the changes. When everything is done, press [DEL] to exit the menu option mode and the display shows—.
4.1 Enter”1″: [F1] Assign Transmitter ID
4.2 Enter”2″: [F2] Assign Pager ID
4.3 Enter”3″: [F3] Turn on/off Beeper
4.4 Enter”4″: [F4] Adjust Alert Duration -
Process: First, assign an ID to the transmitter by selecting F1 option; second, turn on/off the beeper with F3 option; next,
select F4 option to adjust the Alert duration, lastly, assign an ID to the target pager.
Note: -
If you don’t need to change transmitter ID, turn on/off beeper, reduce/extend Alert duration, just ignore the options and select F2 to assign an ID to the pager being set up.

No matter how you configure a pager, you must select F2 option to assign an ID to the pager before exiling the menu option mode so that all the changes will work.

When a configuration is successful, the LEDs on the target pager will flash red. If the LEDs on the pager don’t flash red after a configuration, ii means that the programming is not valid.

For example: turn off the beeper of pager 1 and extend the Alert
duration to 5 seconds.
Remove all the pagers from the charging slots except pager 1.
Press [CALL] button and [DEL] button simultaneously, and the display reads F1, enter 3 and press [CALL] button to change Beeper settings,
enter “000” to turn off the beeper and press [CALL] button to save the change; enter “4” and press [CALL] button to adjust Alert duration,
enter “005” and press [CALL] button to save the change; enter “2” and press [CALL] button to assign an ID to the pager, enter “001” and press [CALL] button to save the change, with the LEDs on the pager 1 flashing red, indicating the configuration is successful. Press [DEL] button to exit menu option mode.
Details about the options:
[F1] Transmitter ID
Press [CALL] and [DEL] at the same lime and the display reads F1,
press [CALL], the display shows the current ID and keeps flashing.
Enter a number among 001 to 998 and press [CALL] to save it as the new transmitter ID.
Note: -
Please do not change transmitter ID unless necessary.
If you change transmitter ID, you will have to re-configure all the pagers so that they can communicate with the transmitter. -
Do not change transmitter ID to”000″, “99”.
[F2] Pager ID
To configure a pager, be sure to remove all the pagers from the charging slot, then have the desired pager seated in the charging slot, press [CALL] and [DEL] simultaneously, then press 2 and [CALL] , with the display reading 001 and keeping flashing. Enter a number among 1 to 998 within 3s, press [CALL] to save the change.
At the same time, the LEDs on the pager flashes red, indicating the configuration is successful.
You may follow the steps to configure all the pagers. Be sure to press [DEL] to exit menu option mode after all the changes are done.
Note: -
Do not change pager ID to 99/999 as these are shut-off commands.

To change an ID number, just enter a new ID number.

Configure only one pager each time. If you place more than one pager in the charging slots, they all will share the same ID.
[F3] Beeper
Press [CALL] and [DEL] simultaneously, then press 3 and [CALL],
the display reads “000” or “001” and keeps flashing. Enter “000” (Turn of beeper)/ “001” (Turn on beeper), press [CALL] to save the
change.
[F4] Alert Duration
Press [CALL] and [DEL] simultaneously, then press 4 and [CALL],
the display reads “001” and keeps flashing. Enter the desired duration (among 1s to 99s), press [CALL] to save the change.

Local Government Regulations
When radios are used as a consequence of employment, the Local Government
Regulations requires users to be fully aware of and able to control their
exposure to meet occupational requirements. Exposure awareness can be
facilitated by the use of a product label directing users to specific user
awareness information. Your Retekess radio has a RF Exposure Product Label.
Also, your Retekess user manual, or separate safety booklet includes
information and operating instructions required to control your RF exposure
and to satisfy compliance requirements.
Radio License (if appropriate)
Governments keep the radios in classification, business radios operate on
radio frequencies that are regulated by the local radio management departments
(FCC, ISED, OFCOM, ANFR, BFTK, Bundesnetzagentur … ).To transmit on these
frequencies, you are required to have a license issued by them. The detailed
classification and the use of your radios, please contact the local government
radio management departments.
Use of this radio outside the country where it was intended to be distributed
is subject to government regulations and may be prohibited.
Unauthorized modification and adjustment
Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for
compliance may void the user’s authority granted by the local government radio
management departments to operate this radio and should not be made. To comply
with the corresponding requirements, transmitter adjustments should be made
only by or under the supervision of a person certified as technically
qualified to perform transmitter maintenance and repairs in the private land
mobile and fixed services as certified by an organization representative of
the user of those services.
Replacement of any transmitter component (crystal, semiconductor etc.) not authorized by the local government radio management departments equipment authorization for this radio could violate the rules.

RF Exposure Information
- DO NOT operate the radio without a proper antenna attached, as this may damage the radio and may also cause you to exceed RF exposure limits. A proper antenna is the antenna supplied with this radio by the manufacturer or an antenna specifically authorized by the manufacturer for use with this radio, and the antenna gain shall not exceed the specified gain by the manufacturer declared.

Protect your hearing
- Use the lowest volume necessary to do your jot
- Turn up the volume only if you are in noisy surroundings.
- Turn down the volume before adding headset or earpiece.
- Limit the amount of time you use headsets or earpieces at high volume.
- When using the radio without a headset or earpiece, do not place the radio’s speaker directly against your ear
- Use careful with the earphone maybe possible excessive sound pressure from earphones and headphones can cause hearing loss
Note: Exposure to loud noises from any source for extended periods of time may temporarily or permanently affect your hearing. The louder the radio’s volume, the less lime is required before your hearing could be affected. Hearing damage from loud noise is sometimes undetectable at first and can have a cumulative effect.
Avoid Burns

Safety Operation
Forbid
- Do not use charger outdoors or in moist environments, use only in dry locations/conditions.
- Do not disassemble the charger, that may result in risk of electrical shock or fire.
- Do not operate the charger if ii has been broken or damaged in any way.
- Do not place a portable radio in the area over an air bag or in the air bag deployment area. The radio may be propelled with great force and cause serious injury to occupants of the vehicle when the air bag inflates. To reduce risk
- Pull by the plug rather than the cord when disconnecting the charger.
- Unplug the charger from the AC outlet before attempting any maintenance or cleaning.
- Contact Retekess for assistance regarding repairs and service.
- The adapter shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible
