RECOMMENDED INSTALL HEIGHT:

  • Install the light between 6.5-8.5 feet above the ground.
  • The fixture will provide a detection distance of up to 70 feet.

LOCATION OF SOLAR PANEL:

  • For the best results, install your solar panel in an area where it can absorb maximum sunlight during daytime hours. Be aware of objects such as trees or property overhangs that may impede the panel’s ability to generate a charge.

PRE-INSTALLATION

  1. Before assembly, compare package contents with the hardware list to make sure all parts are present.
  2. Prior to installing the lights, an initial charge is needed and should be done in the OFF position for at least 1 to 3 days in direct sunlight before use (see page 5, fig 5 for mode selections). Make sure to plug the solar panel into the lights to charge the battery. Afterward, the included rechargeable battery will be charged sufficiently for operation.
  3. When fully charged and ready to install, select a suitable location that can support the weight of the fixtures.
  4. The solar panel comes with a 15 ft. wire. The maximum distance between the solar panel and the light is 15 ft.
  5. The motion sensor is light-sensitive. For best performance at night, ensure there is no interfering light preventing the sensor from working correctly.
  6. Estimated installation time: 15 MinutesPG-CL-SM1500L-2H-1500-Lumen-2-Head-Solar-Motion-Activated-Security-Light-FIG-4

INSTALLATION

  1. Select the desired position for the security light and solar panel.
    • The maximum distance between the security light and solar panel is 15 ft. Use a drill and a 1/8″ drill bit to drill (2) holes on your preferred mounting surface, utilizing the mounting bracket (E) screw holes as your guide.
    • Use (2) wall anchors (D), insert into each hole, then use (2) screws (C) to fasten the mounting bracket (E) to the surface. Make sure the clip side is facing out as shown in Fig 1.
  2. FOR WALL MOUNT:
    • Before connecting the light to the mounting bracket, switch the Mode to the Auto position (see Fig A).
    • Connect the light (A) to the mounting bracket (E) as shown in Fig 2.
  3. FOR EAVE MOUNT:
    • If you are eave mounting the security light, ensure the ceiling is level and the fixture can support the weight of the light. Follow Step One to secure the bracket (E).
    • Before connecting the light to the mounting bracket, switch the Mode to the Auto position (see Fig A on.
    • Connect the light (A) to the mounting bracket (E) as shown in Fig 3.
  4. Use a drill and a 1/8″ drill bit to drill (4) holes on your preferred mounting surface, utilizing the solar panel (B) screw holes as your guide. Use (4) wall anchors (D), insert them into each hole, then use (4) screws (C) to fasten the solar panel (B) to the surface as shown in Fig 4.
    • Note: Make sure the distance between the light and the solar panel is within 15 feet.
  5. Connect the solar panel wire to the light as shown in Fig 5.
    • Installation is complete. You are now ready to enjoy your new LED security light.

TESTING THE LIGHT

NOTE: It is recommended that the light be tested before being placed into regular operation.
NOTE: Testing the light indoors or lower than 7 ft. from the ground may not enable the light to work optimally when mounted outdoors

  • Before placing the light in Auto operation, it is best to set the preferred light direction, and then test the light and motion sensor.

To set the light position:

  • Switch the Mode to On (Fig A) (see Fig 5 on page 5). This will turn the light on and you can adjust the lights to your desired position.

To test the motion position:

  • Switch the Mode to Auto (see Fig 5 on page 5). Switch the Time to Test (Fig B). The light may initially turn on for a short time.
  • When the light turns off, you are now ready to test the motion sensor, whether it is day or night.
  • The light will activate for 5 seconds every time motion is detected. Adjust the head and motion sensor to the desired angles.
  • Adjust the Sensitivity (Fig C) and Motion Sensor (Fig D) to meet your desired detection.
  • When the motion preference is achieved, switch the Time to 30, 60, or 120 seconds. Your light is now ready to use.

SWITCH FUNCTIONS AND BATTERY LOCATION

FIG-14

  • The different control switches adjust the light’s illumination time, light sensitivity, and range of motion detection.
  • TIME: Determines the duration of the light once motion is detected: 30 seconds, 60 seconds, or 120 seconds.
  • TEST allows the positioning of the light’s motion sensor to be tested day or night. Once the motion sensor is in the desired position, attempt to trigger the light by moving in the intended detection zone. If the light illuminates, the motion sensor is positioned correctly. You are now ready to move the switch to the preferred time/duration option. The light will now only turn on in darkness.
  • SENSITIVITY: Controls the distance of the range of motion detection: low, medium, or high.

MODES:

  • Auto: The light will come on at the desired time, and the sensitivity level set between dusk & dawn.
  • On: This function overrides motion detection.
  • The light will remain on for 90 minutes.
  • Off: The light will turned off.
  • Prior to accessing the battery, turn the Mode to the Off position.
  • Use a screwdriver to remove the (4) screws on the back of the light. Remove the battery access panel as shown.
  • When replacing the battery, follow the correct polarity, and match the battery specification. Use only a new Li-ion rechargeable battery, 18650 3.7 2000 mAh.
  • Note: DO NOT use an old battery.
  • Note: When replacing the battery, recycle used batteries or dispose of them in accordance with local regulations.
  • Note: After the battery has been replaced, press the Mode button once.
  • The light will enter Auto Mode and an initial “warm-up” period for about 15 seconds before ready for use.
  • To adjust the heads for preferred detection, gently rotate the left and right lamp heads up or down or side to side. To adjust the motion sensor for preferred detection, gently rotate it up or down or side to side.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

  • From time to time, ensure the plug between the solar panel and the light is securely connected. Discontinue use if the wire becomes frayed or broken.

  • It is advisable to adjust the angle of the solar panel to optimize the exposure to the sun during the winter months.

  • The solar panel should be cleaned with a damp cotton cloth regularly. That will ensure optimal performance and battery charging. Periodically, utilize the
same technique to clean the lenses of the motion lights.

  • Never let any abrasive material come into contact with the solar panel.
