Mounting Instructions
The 2x2MX LED engines consist of 4 high-power emitters placed on a square board of 73x73mm. Typically these engines produce between 3000lm and 6000lm, depending on the chosen driving current. The lifespan for these high-power engines is the perfect thermal conductivity of the carrier board.
Mounting indicator marks overview
MechaTronix recommends the use of a high thermal conductive interface between the LED module and the LED cooler. Either thermal grease, a thermal pad or a phase change thermal pad thickness 0.1-0.15mm is recommended. Thermal pads or phase change thermal pads can be applied from MechaTronix.

- Together with Bender+Wirth, we developed these high-end LED holders, enabling COB LED modules to be placed in the 2x2MX platform.
- These Mica holders not only deliver a mechanical and electrical platform for the 4 COBs but also brings a direct thermal advantage.
- While other high-power emitters have to be placed on a carrier board, which leads to extra thermal resistance and additional heating, this system makes that the COBs sit directly on the LED cooler, reducing the resistance heat.
- In this way, the CoolBlock® SQ-01 2x2MX can be used up to 6000 lumens in an industrial environment, what is probably the most compact engine on the market.
