IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

  1. Before operating this kettle, please read the instruction manual carefully.
  2. Please keep the instruction manual, guarantee certificate, sales receipt and if possible, the kettle’ s external and internal packaging.
  3. This kettle is intended exclusively for private use and not for commercial use.
  4. Switch off the kettle and remove the plug from the socket when the kettle is not in use. When removing the plug from the socket, grasp and pull the plug, not the power cord.
  5. Switch off the kettle before cleaning it.
  6. Keep the kettle out of the reach of children. Do not leave children unsupervised around the kettle.
  7. The kettle can be used by children from 8 years of age if they are supervised or have been taught how to safely use the appliance and understand the hazards involved. Children under 8 should not clean or maintain the kettle and older children should only do so if supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children under 8 years of age. The kettle can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have been taught how to safely use the appliance and understand the hazards involved. Children must not play with the appliance.
  8. Test the kettle and the power cord regularly for damage. Check the kettle to see if it is operating properly. If there is damage of any kind or if the kettle is not operating properly, stop us ing the kettle and unplug it immediately.
  9. Do not attempt to repair the kettle yourself. Only authorised and qualified personnel may repair this kettle.
  10. Keep the kettle and power cord away from heat, direct sunlight, water, moisture, sharp edges and the like.
  11. Use only the accessories that come with the kettle. Do not connect incompat ible products.
  12. Do not use the kettle outdoors.
  13. The base and exterior of the kettle are not water-resistant. Keep the kettle and base dry at all times.
  14. Under no circumstances should the kettle be placed in water or any liquid. Do not handle the kettle with wet hands. If the kettle becomes wet, remove the plug from the socket immediately.
  15. DO NOT touch the contents of the kettle.
  16. Use the kettle only for its intended purpose.
  17. The kettle is only to be used with the base provided.
  18. lf the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons for safety reasons.
  19. Ensure that the plug does not get wet during use.
  20. The amount of water in the kettle must be between the MAX. and MIN. marks. Warning: If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may overflow from the appliance.
  21. Switch the kettle off before removing it from the base.
  22. Always ensure that the lid is tightly closed.
  23. The kettle body used must be the body sold with the kettle base.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

BEFORE FIRST USE

Before first using the kettle, it is recommended that you twice boil a full kettle of water without any additives and then discard the water.

  1. Fill the kettle with water. Do not overfill. Use the water level indicator to fill the kettle safely.
  2. Place the kettle on the base.
  3. Only connect the kettle to a properly installed 220-240V 50/60Hz socket.
  4. Switch the kettle on. The indicator light will turn on to show that the water is being boiled. The temperature dial will indicate the temperature of the water inside the kettle.
  5. After boiling, the kettle will switch off automatically. Disconnect the kettle from the electricity supply. Keep the kettle lid firmly closed when pouring water from the kettle.
  6. This appliance is intended for use in households and similar, such as:
    • staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
    • farmhouses;
    • by clients in hotels, motels, B&Bs and other residential-type environments.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. To fill the kettle with water; remove the kettle from the base and open the lid. Then, fill the kettle with the desired amount of water making sure to always keep the water level between the MIN. (0.6 L) and MAX. (1.7 L) marks.
    NOTE: Do not overfill the kettle as water may overflow from the spout when boiling.

  2. Close the lid. Position the kettle in place on its base. Make sure that the kettle is securely in contact with the base. Ensure that the lid is firmly in place before plugging the power cord into the socket.

  3. Plug the cord into the power socket. Flick the switch to the “I” position. The switch light will turn on and the kettle will start to operate. The kettle and switch light will switch off automatically once the water has boiled.

  4. Lift the kettle from the power base and then pour the water as needed.
    NOTE: Be very careful when pouring water from the kettle as hot water can cause scalding. Do not open the lid while there is hot water in the kettle.

  5. The kettle will not re-boil unless the switch is pressed again. Allow the kettle to cool for 15~20 seconds before turning it on again.
    NOTE: The kettle may be stored on its base when not in use. Ensure that the power supply is turned off when the kettle is not in use.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Always remove the plug from the power supply before cleaning the kettle.
  • The exterior of the kettle should be cleaned, when necessary, with a soft, damp cloth or sponge. Remove stubborn spots with a cloth moistened with mild liquid detergent. Do not use abrasive scouring pads or powders.
  • Never immerse the kettle in water or other liquids.
  • From time to time, depending on the quality of your water supply, water scale will naturally form and attach to the kettle’ s heating elements, reducing the kettle’ s heating efficiency.
  • The amount of water scale depends on the water hardness in your area and the frequency with which the kettle is used.
  • Water scale is not harmful to your health. However; if it was poured into your beverage, it can give your drink a powdery taste. Therefore, the kettle should be descaled periodically as indicated below.

DESCALING

Descale your kettle regularly, that is, at least twice a year (with normal use).

  1. Fill the kettle to MAX. with a 1 :2 mixture of ordinary vinegar and water. Put the kettle on the base, switch it on and wait for the kettle to boil and switch off automatically.
  2. Keep the mixture in the kettle overnight.
  3. Discard the mixture the next morning.
  4. Fill the kettle to MAX. with clean water and boil the kettle.
  5. Discard the boiled water to remove any remaining scale and vinegar.
  6. Rinse the inside of the kettle with clean water.

DISPOSAL

Disassemble and recycle the kettle in accordance with local regulations.

Correct disposal of this product

This mark indicates that this product should not be disposed of in the same way as typical household waste in Europe. To prevent harm to the environment and human health, we suggest that you dispose of any unwanted kettles by delivering them to an appropriate waste disposal centre. Disposal should be carried out in an environmentally friendly manner and the product should be made available to any applicable recyclable material collection service.
