Increasing the range/signal strength
An additional base station can be used if, for example, two cameras assigned to one base station are positioned too far apart in a larger building. In this case, a second base station can be installed close to the second camera and the camera can be assigned to this base station.

A standard microSD card (max. 128 GB storage capacity / min. Class 10) is required for recording. The camera must be disconnected from the PSU in order to insert and remove the MicroSD card. The microSD card audibly snaps into place when fully inserted. The provided removal aid can be used to remove the card.

OPERATION AND DISPLAY ELEMENTS

Charge the camera’s built-in battery, if not already done, using the micro USB cable and USB power adapter until the red LED on the back of the camera lights up continuously. Then disconnect the cable. Switch on the camera first during start-up, as described below.

  • Ready for connection (pairing): Press and hold the pairing key for 3s until the status LED flashes blue.
  • Reset to factory setting: Press and hold the reset key for 5s until the status LED flashes red.

Switching on the camera: Press the button once briefly.

  • Pairing function: Press the button three times briefly.
  • Switching off the camera: Press and hold the button for 5 seconds.
  • Do not apply power to the base station until startup, as described below.
  • The base station establishes a connection to the camera during startup. In very rare cases, no connection is established and a factory reset may be necessary.

COVERAGE A RE A O F THE SENSOR

  • The detection range of the integrated motion sensor (passive infrared technology, PIR) is limited to 8m.
  • People who are outside of this range are “seen” by the camera and displayed on the live image, but do not trigger a recording.
  • The recommendation for an optimal mounting height is 2m and an inclination angle of 12.5°.

CAMERA INSTALLATION

Option A: Installing the camera without a wall bracket

ABUS-PPIC90000-Battery-Cam-and-Base-Station-fig-33

The camera can also be set up without a wall bracket on a flat surface.
The following aspects must be observed here:

  • The position of the camera is not fixed during setup and could be accidentally shifted, thus changing the recording area.
  • Large objects located between the camera and the base station could impact the transmission.
  • Where possible, the camera should be positioned unobstructed at the edge of the setup surface in order to prevent light reflections between the camera and the setup surface.
  • The camera‘s field of vision must not be obstructed by objects.
  • Positioning the camera on a glass shelf could lead to interfering reflections during recording.

Option B: Installing the camera with a wall bracket

Ensure that the Wi-Fi signal of your home network is sufficiently strong and stable at the desired location for continuous smooth operation. If necessary, first start up the camera base station and then test the reception at exactly the positions you have planned for the camera and the base station. For more information on signal strength, please refer to the user manual.
