ABUS PPIC31020 WiFi Privacy Indoor Camera
SYSTEMS REQUIREMENT
Wi-Fi network with password and encryption. The WLAN password must not exceed a length of 31 characters. The site service of the mobile end device must be activated.Bluetooth of the mobile end device must be activated.The camera can only be used in conjunction with the App2Cam PlusThe following special characters are not possible when entering the Wi-Fi password.

Activate the „Location service“ (e.g. „GPS“) of your smartphone or tablet with which you are performing the startup. This will be required later to display the networks in the surrounding area.Networks without encryption are not supported.

A standard microSD card (max. 128 GB storage capacity / min. Class 10) is required for recording. The camera must be disconnected from the PSU in order to insert and remove the microSD card. The microSD card audibly snaps into place when fully inserted. The provided removal aid can be used to remove the card.
FLAPPOSITIO
The camera basically consists of two parts: the camera housing made of plastic, and a cover/flap in textile look. The flap is magnetically attached to the camera housing, and can be completely removed if necessary. Through the flap and its integrated magnets, you control the privacy mode of the camera.
- The flap is completely closed, and the front of the camera is completely covered by the flap: The camera is in standby mode = privacy mode. No sound recording, no image recording, no access via app possible. To note: The camera only switches to privacy mode when the flap is completely closed and has contact with the camera housing with its integrated magnets.
- The flap is completely open on half side, the camera lens can be seen: The camera is active. The live image, memory, all functions, and settings are accessed via the app.
- The flap is completely removed, the entire front of the camera can be seen: The camera is active. The live image, memory, all functions, and settings are accessed via app.
The flap must be open for the camera to be put into operation
POWER SUPPLY
Ready in 60 seconds: When the green LED flashes quickly two times and then once for longer.
FACTORY RESET
If there are any difficulties during the setup or you have forgotten the access data (password and secu-rity code), reset the camera back to factory settings: Press the reset button, on the bottom of the camera, for at least 5 seconds, using a thin object (e.g. the removal tool for the microSD card or a paper clip) until the power LED flashes.
CAMERA INSTALLATION
Installing the camera with a wall bracket
- Drill fixing holes (6 mm drill required) onto the flat wall surface with the aid of the drilling template and fasten the back panel using the installation material provided.
- Insert the ball joint, position the cover and tighten. Then position the fixing ring and tighten gently.
- Unscrew the camera and align it according to the desired recording area. Tighten the fixing ring in order to secure the camera in this position.
Installing the camera without a wall bracket
The camera can also be set up without a wall bracket on a flat surface. The following aspects must be observed here:
- The position of the camera is not fixed during setup and could be accidentally shifted, thus changing the recording area.
- To prevent the camera from moving, you can use the anti-slip pad provided. Place them on the straight surface of the camera bottom:
- Where possible, the camera should be positioned unobstructed at the edge of the setup surface in order to prevent light ref-lections between the camera and the setup surface.
- The camera‘s fi eld of vision must not be obstructed by objects.

INITIAL STAR T-UP
Installation App2Cam Plus and start-up
Open the left side of the camera cover completely. The camera lens has a clear view. (It is not necessary to remove the entire flap).
The following illustrations are from the iOS app. The process with the Android app follows the same steps. Bluetooth of the smartphone / tablet must be activated.

Launch App2Cam Plus and select “Add new device” to start the start-up.

Option 1: Scan the QR code on the back of the camera.

Option 2: Select your camera model.

For optimal startup, the camera and the smartphone/tablet must be as close as possible next to each other, at a maximum distance of 3 meters.

Select ” Setup via Bluetooth”.

If not already done: Activate Bluetooth in the settings of the mobile device. Then tap on “Next”.

Now supply the camera with power and wait 2 minutes until the LED in the front of the camera flashes two times short and one time long. Then tap on “Next”.

The site services must be activated in the settings fot optimal operation.

Select your camera by its identification number. The identification number (DID) of your camera can be found under the QR code that is located on your camera and is also enclosed in the packaging. Then tap on “Next”.

Select your home network/WLAN, where you want to operate the camera permanently. Then tap on “Next”.

Enter the password of your network. Then tap on “Next”.

Now assign a security code and an admin password. These must be identical during Bluetooth setup. Then tap on “Next”.

The camera will now restart. If the startup was successful up to this point, the app displays the camera’s article number in the “Overview” screen. This can take up to 60 seconds.

For the best possible camera experience, we recommend operating the camera always with the latest firmware. You can find the current firmware version and available updates at “Advanced Settings” -> “Device Settings”.Confirm the message with “OK”
The admin password can be changed in the camera settings after installation.

Now tap in the overview on the camera image icon with the two arrows or the preview image to display the first live image of your camera.
In order to configure additional settings on the camera:- Tap on the menu symbol in the menu bar at the bottom of the screen.
- Now tap on the icon with the two gears in the camera image.

You have successfully completed the start-up. All settings and functions can be called up via the menu bar at the bottom of the screen.
