SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

When using an electrical appliance, you should always take basic safety measures. Always keep the following in mind:

  • Read all instructions before using.
  • Keep the user manual for future reference.
  • Only plug the appliance into a grounded mains socket.
  • Do not use an extension cord with this appliance.
  • Children should always be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it should be replaced by a supplier, retailer, it‘s service agent or a similarly qualified person to avoid a hazard.
  • The appliance is not intended for use in combination with an external timer or a separate remote control system.
  • The waffle iron is intended for use in the home or in household-like environments, e.g. in the kitchenettes of hotel or motel rooms, bed and breakfasts, shared cooking areas on campsites and other environments where food preparation takes place.
  • This appliance may be used by children aged 8 years and older, people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or people with a lack of experience and knowledge, if supervised or given instructions on how to use the appliance safely and understand the hazards involved. Do not allow children to play with this appliance. Children must not carry out cleaning and regular user maintenance without adult supervision.
  • Store the appliance and power cord out of the reach of children under 8 years of age.
  • If you pass the appliance on to a third party, this manual must accompany it.
  • Improper use and handling may result in a defect in the appliance and injury to the user.
  • The appliance is not suitable for commercial or outdoor use.
  • Before inserting the plug into the mains socket, check that the power supply complies with the information on the rating plate.
  • Remove the plug from the main socket when the appliance is not in use and before cleaning.
  • Parts of the appliance get hot during use. Therefore, only hold the handle when opening and closing the top cover.
  • Do not immerse the appliance, cord or plug in water or any other liquid. This may cause electric shocks that present a danger to life!
  • Children are not able to understand the risks of improper handling of electrical appliances. Therefore, children should never use electrical household appliances unsupervised.
  • Do not use the appliance if the cord or plug is showing signs of damage, if it has fallen to the floor, or it has been damaged by other means. In such cases, take the appliance to an authorised specialist for inspection and repair.
  • Make sure that the cord does not hang over sharp edges and keep it away from hot objects and naked flames.
  • Ensure that the cord does not accidentally get caught between the baking plates or touch the edges of the baking plates.
  • Place the appliance on a stable, flat surface and away from hot objects or naked flames (e.g. hobs).
  • Never leave the appliance unattended while it is in use.
  • The temperature may be high on the outside of the appliance while it is in use.

GET STARTED

  1. Remove the packaging.
  2. Clean the baking surfaces with a soft, damp cloth and dry them.
  3. Fully unwind the cord.

NOTICE! When your waffle maker is heated for the first time, it may emit slight smoke or odour. This is normal with many heating appliances. This does not affect the safety of your appliance.

USE

  • It is best to place the appliance on a non-sensitive surface as large amounts of grease can damage the worktop surface.
  • Connect the plug to a socket for preheating the unit. The red power indicator light then comes on showing that the power is on and the unit begins preheating.
  • It takes approximately 2–4 minutes to heat the unit. The green-ready indicator light comes on when the waffle iron has heated up and then goes on and off as the thermostat is activated to maintain the correct temperature.
  • When the waffle iron is heated up, open the lid gently pour the waffle mix into the waffle iron and close the lid.
  • Cook for about 2–4 minutes or until golden brown, adjust the time to suit your taste.
  • Remove the waffle with a spatula made of wood or heat-resistant plastic.
  • Do not use any sharp utensils – they may damage the surface!
  • Unplug the appliance and leave the unit open to cool down after use.

CARE AND CLEANING

  1. First, remove the plug from the main socket.
  2. Do not clean the appliance until it has completely cooled down.
  3. Clean the exterior of the waffle iron and the cooking surfaces with a soft, damp cloth (water only).
  4. The easiest way to remove any leftover waffle batter is with a very soft brush.
  5. Never use abrasive detergents or sharp utensils (e.g. a scouring pad or knife) for cleaning.

WARNING! Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid. This may cause electric shocks that present a danger to life.

RIGHT OF COMPLAINT
By law, the product must be returned to the place of purchase along with the original receipt in the event of a complaint. The user is liable for any damage to the product that is caused by not using the product for its intended purpose or by not following this user manual correctly. The right of complaint will not apply in these instances.

ENVIRONMENT AND RECYCLING
When the product is used up, leave it for recycling according to local waste disposal regulations. Note that the product must not be disposed of with normal household waste.
