WARNING: KEEP BATTERIES OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN
- Swallowing may lead to serious injury in as little as 2 hours or death, due to chemical burns and potential perforation of the oesophagus.
- If you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body seek immediate medical attention
- Examine devices and make sure the battery compartment is correctly secured, e.g. that the screw or other mechanical fastener is tightened. Do not use if the compartment is not secure.
- Dispose of used button batteries immediately and safely. Flat batteries can still be dangerous.
WARNING
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN Swallowing can lead to chemical burns,
perforation of soft tissue, and death. Severe burns can occur within 2 hours
of ingestion. Seek medical attention immediately.
CAUTION: No obvious symptoms
Unfortunately, it is not obvious when a button or coin battery is stuck in a
child’s oesophagus (food pipe). There are no specific symptoms associated with
this. The child might:
- cough, gag or drool a lot;
- appear to have a stomach upset or a virus;
- be sick;
- point to their throat or stomach;
- have a pain in their abdomen, chest or throat;
- be tired or lethargic;
- be quieter or more clingy than usual or otherwise “not themselves”;
- lose their appetite or have a reduced appetite; and
- not want to eat solid food/be unable to eat solid food.
These sorts of symptoms vary or fluctuate, with the pain increasing and then
subsiding. A specific symptom to button and coin battery ingestion is vomiting
fresh (bright red) blood. If the child does this seek immediate medical help.
The lack of clear symptoms is why it is important to be vigilant with “flat”
or spare button or coin batteries in the home and the products that contain
them.
Thank you for choosing a Dimplex electric fire.
General Information
The fire incorporates a flame effect, which can be used with or without
heating, so that the comforting effect may be enjoyed at any time of the year.
A fan heater can provide heating in cold weather. A distance of 1 metre (3
feet) must be maintained between the front of the heater and any surrounding
furniture, overhanging curtains or other obstructions. Always ensure that the
appliance is sitting on a level surface. Before connecting the appliance,
check that the supply voltage is the same as that stated on the appliance.
Please note: Used in an environment where background noise is very low,
it may be possible to hear a sound which is related to the operation of the
flame effect. This is normal and should not be a cause for concern.

Installation Instructions
This heater must be used on an AC ~ supply only and the voltage marked on the
appliance must correspond to the supply voltage. Before switching on, please
read the safety warnings and operating instructions. Please retain this user’s
guide for future reference Your electric fire is designed to be used in front
of a fireplace opening or placed against a wall anywhere in the room. When
installing this appliance in front of an existing fireplace opening, we
recommend that an open chimney or flue is blocked off. We recommend that non-
flammable materials are used to block off the chimney flue. This procedure is
important for the efficient operation of the heating unit and will also reduce
heat loss up the chimney. At the rear of the appliance, two adjustable feet
are provided for levelling the appliance where the fire is being installed on
an uneven surface. You can adjust the foot by removing the two screws and
refitting the foot in the required position. The appliance is supplied with
screws and rawl plugs to provide extra stability to prevent it from
accidentally being knocked over. The rawl plug supplied is suitable for use in
block walls (other wall types may need alternative rawl plugs).
To place the appliance flush to a wall please follow these instructions:
- Drill holes using a 6mm drill as illustrated in .
- Insert plugs and screws. Do not fully tighten screws, leave the head of the screw at least 10mm away from the wall.
- Place the keyhole slots on the appliance over the screws and lower into position.
If the unit is not to be place flush to the wall, the screws can be left protuding further than 10mm and longer screws can be used as required.
Fuelbed Assembly
Models are supplied with a range of fuelbed media, which you can arrange to your preference.(Cheriton Deluxe is supplied with coal only) .Loose coals, crystals, pebbles and logs are packed separately within the carton. When the appliance is installed, place the fuelbed material on the fuelbed and arrange to your liking. We recommend the following step, in order to achieve the optimal effect.
- Place crystals on fuelbed, covering the top surface of the fuelbed. These will provide a glowing embers effect, when the flame effect is operating.
- Add coal or pebbles on top of the crystals. Allow for spaces in between coal/pebbles, for the acrylic crystals (glowing embers).
- For product with logs, arrange the logs on top, to your preference. below displays a representation for log arrangement. You may wish not to use all of the logs provided.
WARNING: Choking may be caused by swallowing small loose fuel bed media accidently. Keep them away from children all the time.
