WARNING!
If these instructions are not followed, an accident may lead to serious personal injury or property damage.

GET STARTED!

Check that the coffee maker is complete and there is no visible damage. Run water only through the machine a couple of times before use. Follow the steps below, but exclude the ground coffee and pour away the water afterwards. Finish by washing the  removable parts with hot water.

USE

  1. Open the lid and fill the water tank with cold tap water. The water level must not exceed the indicated maximum level.

  2. Place the reusable filter or paper filter in the filter holder and make sure it is in the correct position. 1 x 4 coffee filters are recommended.

  3. Add ground coffee to the filter. The usual measure is 1 coffee scoop per cup (100 ml of water), but you can adjust the amount according to your taste and preference.
    Close the lid.

  4. Place the coffee pot on the hotplate.

  5. Plug the coffee maker into an grounded socket.

  6. Press the button. The indicator comes on. The coffee maker starts brewing coffee immediately.
NOTE! During brewing, you can remove the pot and thus stop the flow temporarily so you can serve yourself a cup of coffee.
After 30 seconds, the brewing process will resume.

  7. Once the coffee is ready, wait a minute before removing the pot and serving the coffee.
NOTE! You will get slightly less coffee than the amount of water you added, as a certain amount of water is absorbed by the ground coffee. Do not touch the lid, hotplate or similar because they get very hot during the brewing process.

  8. If you do not want to serve the coffee immediately, you can leave the appliance on.
You can keep the coffee hot for 40 minutes on the hotplate, after which time the coffee maker automatically switches off. However, the coffee tastes best if you serve it immediately.

  9. Always switch the coffee maker off and unplug the cord after use.
WARNING! Be careful when pouring coffee, as freshly brewed coffee is very hot.

HOTPLATE
Do not try to disassemble the hotplate – risk of fire and electric shock. There are no serviceable parts inside. Repairs must only be carried out by authorised service personnel.

CARE AND CLEANING

WARNING! Always unplug the coffee maker from the wall socket and allow the hotplate to cool down completely before cleaning the appliance. Do not immerse the appliance or cord in water or any other liquid to clean them.

  1. Wash all removable parts after use. The coffee pot, lid and filter holder are dishwasher-safe. When cleaning in a dishwasher, it is recommended that the lid and filter holder be placed in the upper basket of the dishwasher. The reusable filter can only be hand-washed.
  2. Do not use a coarse cleaning sponge, steel wool or other abrasive materials for cleaning. Instead, wipe the surfaces with a soft, damp cloth to remove any stains.
  3. Water droplets can build up above the filter holder and drip down during the brewing process. To avoid this, you can wipe the area with a clean, dry cloth after each use.
  4. Use a damp cloth to carefully wipe the hotplate. Do not use detergents containing abrasives.
  5. Replace all parts after cleaning.

DESCALING
To function optimally, the coffee maker should be descaled regularly. The frequency depends on the water hardness and how often you use the appliance. A good recommendation is after 30–40 uses. We suggest that you descale the appliance using white wine  vinegar and cold water as described below. Pour two tablespoons (30 ml) of white wine vinegar into a jug of water.

  1. Fill the water tank up to the maximum level with the vinegar solution.
  2. Place the coffee pot on the hotplate.
  3. Make sure that the filter holder and filter are in place.
  4. Turn on the appliance and allow it to “brew” the vinegar solution.
  5. Switch the appliance off once the process is complete.
  6. Leave the solution to stand for 15 minutes, then “brew” through the vinegar solution once more.
  7. Rinse by running through water only at least three times.

By law the product must be returned to the place of purchase along with the original receipt in the event of a complaint. The user is liable for any damage to the product that is caused by not using the product for its intended purpose or by not following this user manual correctly.
