- The MXL017 Target Satellite System is a high-performance satellite system designed for PC users. It allows for software updates to enhance the functionality and performance of the system.

Product Usage Instructions
- Step 1 – Download File
- Prepare an empty/blank USB flash memory stick with a maximum capacity of 32GB. Format the USB stick to either FAT or FAT32.
- Insert the USB memory stick into an available slot on your PC desktop or laptop.
- Go to the Maxview website software updates section: https://maxview.co.uk/software-updates/.
- Click on the “Target Update File” link to access the separate download page.
- Download the HEX File by clicking on the “DOWNLOAD” button on the screen. The file will appear in the bottom left-hand side of the browser window (on Google Chrome). Click “Show in Folder”.
- Locate the downloaded HEX file, right-click on it, and select “Copy”.
- Paste the copied HEX file onto the USB drive (TARGET).
- Step 2 – Update the File to Control the Box
- Power on the MXL017 Control Box.
- Press and hold the SYNC/Update button located on the front of the Control Box for approximately 7 seconds until the SYNC/Update LED illuminates RED.
- Turn off the power of the Control Box and remove the USB flash memory stick.
- Insert the USB flash memory stick into the Control Box.
- The SYNC LED will flash GREEN during the data transfer, which may take between 10-60 seconds.
- When the SYNC LED goes out, turn off the power of the Control Box and remove the USB flash memory stick.
- Turn on the power of the Control Box.
- The LED will flash RED & GREEN, indicating that data is being written to the Control Box memory.
- Once the SYNC LED goes out, the update is complete.
- Troubleshooting
- Formatting USB Stick
- Right-click on the removable disk option (USB stick) in “Computer”.
- Select “Format” from the context menu.
- Select either “FAT” or “FAT32” as the file system format.
- Click “Start” to begin formatting the USB stick.
- Note: Formatting the USB stick will erase any existing files on it. Make sure to back up any important data before formatting.
- After formatting, click “OK” to confirm.
- Your USB stick is now ready to receive the updated file.

Please follow these instructions to update your MXL017 Target Satellite System
HOW TO USE
STEP 1 – Download file
- You need an empty/blank USB flash memory stick, no larger than 32Gb, to copy the file onto. Please make sure it is formatted to FAT or FAT32. See page 4 for more details.
- nsert your USB memory stick into an empty slot on your Mac desktop or laptop.
- Click on the ‘DOWNLOAD’ button on the screen to begin downloading the HEX File onto your system.
- Find the software update section on the Maxview website https://maxview.co.uk/software-updates/. Click on the Target Update File link to go do a separate download page.
- Once downloaded, the file will appear in the bottom left-hand side of the box (on Google Chrome) as shown above. Click ‘Show in Folder’.
- Next, locate the HEX file, right click and select copy.
- Paste the file onto the USB drive (TARGET)
STEP 2 – Update file to control box
- Turn on Control Box.
- Press and hold the SYNC/Update button on the front of the Control Box for approximately 7 seconds until SYNC/update LED illuminates RED.
- Insert the USB flash memory stick. The SYNC LED will flash GREEN whilst data is being transferred.
- When the SYNC LED goes out turn off the Control Box power and remove the USB flash memory stick. Transfer can take between 10-60 seconds.
- Turn power on, update LED will flash RED and GREEN whilst data is written to Control Box memory.
- When SYNC LED goes out update is complete.
Troubleshooting
Formatting USB stick
- Right click removable disk option (USB stick) in ‘computer’
- Right click and select format
- Format USB Stick by selecting FAT or FAT32 (Please note any files on the USB stick will be erased)
