  • This ice cube maker is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the ice cube maker by a person responsible for their safety.
  • This ice cube maker is designed for indoor household use only.
  • Do not use this ice cube maker outdoors.
  • Ensure that the power supply corresponds to the one shown on the appliance rating plate.
  • Do not remove any safety, warning or product information labels from your ice maker.
  • This appliance must be connected to a grounded power outlet. No other appliance should be plugged into the same outlet. Be sure that the plug is fully inserted into the power outlet.
  • If the power cord is damaged, cease use immediately and contact help.Kogan.com for assistance.
  • The use of attachments or accessories not recommended by Kogan.com may cause fire, electric shock or injury.
  • Do not immerse any part of this product in water.
  • Do not plug or unplug this product with wet hands.
  • Unplug the product before cleaning, maintaining and when not in use.
  • Do not clean your ice maker with any flammable fluids. The fumes may create a fire hazard or explosion.
  • If the ice maker is brought in from outside in wintertime, do not use for a few hours, allowing the unit to warm up to the room temperature before operating.
  • Unplug the ice maker before moving it to avoid damaging the refrigerating system.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble, repair, modify or replace any part of your product.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Do not use the appliance for anything other than intended use.
  • This product must be disposed of in accordance with your local environmental authority as it uses flammable blowing gas and refrigerants. The internals of the ice cube maker should never exceed 45°C.
  • The operating environment for this ice cube maker is between 5-35°C.
  • Do not turn the ice cube maker upside down. This can cause the compressor or refrigerating system to operate incorrectly.
  • Do not use with an extension cord unless necessary. If using, ensure it is suitably rated and it is handled safely as is the ice cube maker’s own power cord.
  • Do not allow the power cord to be exposed to water, heat, or direct sunlight.
  • Do not allow the power cord to overhang where it can be pulled or otherwise be damaged or pose a hazard.
  • This ice cube maker contains no user-serviceable parts. If it suffers any failure or damage, consult the “Troubleshooting” section of this user guide. If the issue is not resolved, cease use immediately and contact help.Kogan.com for assistance.
  • Do not touch the evaporator while making ice to avoid frostbite.
  • Ensure the power cord is unplugged when not in use.
  • Never store or use gas and other flammable articles near the ice cube maker.

Warnings

  • Keep ventilation openings, in the appliance enclosure or in the built-in structure, clear of obstruction.
  • Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.
  • Do not use electrical appliances inside the food storage compartments of the appliance, unless recommended by Kogan.com
  • Do not store explosive substances such as aerosol cans with a flammable propellant in this appliance.

BEFORE FIRST USE

Unpacking

Unpack the ice cube maker, then check to ensure that all the components are included. If components are missing, contact help.Kogan.com for assistance.

Cleaning

It is strongly recommended to clean the ice cube maker before first use.

  • Remove the ice basket.
  • Open the drain plug. Clean the interior with a soft cloth soaked with warm water and vinegar. Rinse with fresh water and drain.
  • Wash the ice basket and ice scoop in warm soapy water. Rinse and dry.
  • Clean the exterior of the ice maker with a soft damp cloth. Use a mild dishwashing soap if necessary.

Placement

Place the ice cube maker on a stable, level surface with at least a 25cm clearance from heat sources (for example, ovens, heaters, and corrosive gases).

Before first use, wait for at least two hours to allow the fluids in the compressor to settle.

For subsequent uses, wait for at least 30 minutes to allow the fluids in the compressor to settle after the ice cube maker is moved or transported.

Note:

  • Do not turn the ice cube maker upside down.
  • During winter, allow the appliance a few hours to warm to room temperature before plugging in.
OPERATION

1. Ensure that the drain plug at the bottom of water reservoir is closed well.
2. Plug the ice maker into an electrical outlet, the “ ” indicator will blink.

Note:
if it has been moved, allow the ice maker to rest for 30 minutes before plugging it back in.

3. Open the top lid and remove the ice basket.
4. Fill the water reservoir using potable water only.

Note:
Do not fill above the MAX water level mark.

5. Replace the ice basket and close the top lid.
6. Press the “ SELECT ” key to select the desired ice size.

7. Press the “ ON/OFF ” key and the “ ” indicator lights solidly.
8. The ice-making cycle will last approximately 7-15 minutes, depending on the ambient and water temperatures.
9. The ice-making cycle starts with water being pumped into the ice tray situated below the evaporator. Over the next 7-15 minutes ice forms on the evaporator. Once completed, the ice tray will tilt backwards and the remaining water in the ice tray is drained back into the water reservoir. The ice cubes are then dropped from the evaporator and pushed forward into the ice basket by the ice shovel. The ice tray will automatically move back into position under the evaporator and start the next cycle.
10. The “ ” indicator will light up when the ice basket is full and then the ice maker will stop the ice-making cycle automatically. Gently remove the ice from the ice basket with the ice scoop. About 5 seconds later, the ice maker will restart its ice making function automatically.
11. The “ ” indicator will light up when the water reservoir is low on water and the ice-making cycle will stop automatically. Remove the ice basket and refill the water reservoir and then press “ ON/OFF ” key again to restart the ice-making cycle.
12. When the desired amount of ice has been made, stop the ice making cycle by pressing the “ ON/OFF ” key and unplug the unit from the electrical outlet.
13. Open the top lid and transfer the ice to a freezer.

Notes:

  • Ice will last in the ice maker for up to an 18-hours, depending on the ambient temperature.
  • It is recommended to change the water at least once a week.
  • Empty the water reservoir if the ice maker is not used for an extended period.
CLEANING & CARE

To ensure optimal performance, it is recommended to clean your ice maker at least once a week.

1. Stop the ice-making cycle by pressing the “ ON/OFF ” key, unplug the ice maker from the wall outlet and allow it to warm up to room temperature.
2. If residual water is found in the ice tray, gently push the ice tray back so that all water drains into the water reservoir.
3. Move the ice maker so that it is over hangs approximately 60mm from the edge of the working table and open the drain plug to drain out excess water (refer Fig.1, Fig.2 and Fig.3).
4. Replace the drain plug and ensure it is closed well. Fill the water reservoir with clean water, press “ SELECT ” until the ‘ ‘ indicator flashes, then press the “ ON/OFF ” key, the pump will start to pump water and keep running for 6 minutes and then will enter standby. Open the drain plug and empty the water.
5. Remove the ice basket.
6. Clean the ice maker interior with a soft cloth soaked with warm water and vinegar, then rinse with clean water and then drain all the water.
7. Replace the drain plug and ensure it is closed well. Wash the ice basket and ice scoop in warm soapy water. Rinse and dry.
8. Clean the exterior of the ice maker with a soft damp cloth. Use a mild dishwashing soap, if necessary.

Note:
Do not use solvents, boiling water, detergent, strong acid and strong alkali etc. for cleaning.

9. Please empty the water reservoir and dry it for storage if the ice maker is not used for a long time.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem Possible causes Solution

2. Infrared light-emitting diode & light-receiving diode do not work.| 1. Remove the ice from ice basket.
2. Wipe up the foreign objects on the infrared LED & light-receiving diode and restart the ice maker.

indicator blinks| The ice tray is not in the right position.| 1. Remove the ice in the ice tray and press the “ ON/OFF ” key to restart the appliance.
2. If problem persists, contact help.Kogan.com for support.
The ice basket is full but the “ ” indicator does not illuminate.| The “ice full” condition cannot be detected as the infrared light module is impacted by the sunlight.| Unplug the appliance and move it to a place which is not exposed to the sunlight, then plug the appliance and activate it again.
The ice sticks together.| Making ice takes too much time.| Stop making ice and restart the ice-making cycle after the ice melts.
The temperature of the water in the water reservoir is too low.| Fill the water reservoir with water between 8°C and 25°C.
The ice-making cycle seems normal, but no ice is produced.| The ambient temperature or water temperature is too high.| Start the ice-making cycle at an environment with an ambient temperature less than 32°C and fill the water reservoir with some cold water.
