  • 8504 Senior
  • 8591 Super Taper
  • 8594 Legend

OVERLOAD PREVENTION

All of the above have an overload prevention circuit built in. The clipper LED will flash quickly 5 times when excessive blade load is detected, the unit will automatically shut the power down and the clipper will no longer switch on. Switch the clipper off inspect the blades for any foreign objects or debris, and clean the blades and oil. Plug the transformer into the clipper, and switch the transformer on, this will reset the clipper, remove the transformer lead and switch the clipper on, it should function normally. Should the clipper fail to function after the reset process it should be returned for inspection.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

CHARGING PRECAUTIONS CHARGING THE BATTERY
Before the equipment is used for the first time, it should be charged 3-5 hours. Plug the power cord directly into the unit. Be sure the clipper is switched OFF when charging. During charging, the indicator light will pulse until the battery is fully charged. The charge light will be fully lit when the battery is fully charged and also during use. During use, if the charge light is flashing this indicates the battery has approximately 20% charge remaining.

USING RECHARGEABLE CORD/CORDLESS CLIPPERS

This unit may be used without a cord when fully charged. If battery power is low, the transformer (charger) can attach directly to the unit for continued use as a corded unit.

  • Plug the transformer into an outlet at the correct voltage.
  • Plug the transformer power cord directly into the unit. Be sure the clipper is switched OFF when charging.
  • FOR CORDED OPERATION, connect to the receptacle on the bottom of the unit. If your battery is completely run down, allow the unit to charge for 1 minute (switched OFF) before using as a corded unit.
  • If the cord is left attached to the unit when not in use, the cord will automatically charge the unit when left in the OFF position.

TROUBLESHOOTING

ATTACHING AND DETACHING THE RECHARGING CABLE

If your cordless clipper does not seem to be operating or charging properly, please check the following: Check the outlet’s current by plugging another appliance (one you know is in proper working condition) into the outlet. Make sure the unit is not connected to a power source that turns itself off when lights are turned off. Make sure the clipper and charging transformer contacts are clean and free of hair or other contaminants. Verify that the blade assembly moves freely and is mounted properly. The battery is a non-consumer replaceable battery. Return to Wahl for replacement if and when necessary.

ATTACHMENTS
To attach the combs, hold the comb with teeth up and snap it firmly to the bottom of the clipper blade. (Fig. 3) For uniform cutting, allow the clipper to cut its way through the hair. Do not force it through at a faster rate.
