Important Safeguards

Save These Instructions Household Use Only
- A short power-supply cord is to be provided to reduce risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
- Longer extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
- If an extension cord is used:
a. The marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance;
b. The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or table top where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.
c. the extension cord should be a grounding-type 3-wire cord.
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.

Water Test
CAUTION: Do not use the kettle if it is damaged. Contact Customer Support to replace your kettle.
Perform the water test before using your kettle to make sure it’s working
properly .
Do not drink the water that is boiled during this initial test.
- Remove all packaging from your kettle and its accessories, including any temporary stickers.
- Completely unravel the power cable and place the power base on a flat, level surface.
- Press the Lid Release Button to open the lid. [Figure 1.1]
- Fill the kettle with water to the “MAX” line, then close the lid. [Figure 1.2] Place the kettle onto the power base. Plug the power cord into a power outlet.
- Press the On/Off Switch. The red indicator light will tum on. [Figure 1.3]
- The kettle will automatically tum off once it has finished boiling the water.
Allow it to cool for at least 5 minutes, then pour out the water.
Boiling Water
Do not boil other liquids in this kettle.
This kettle should only be used for boiling water.
- Press the Lid Release Button to open the lid.
- Fill the kettle to the desired level. Do not fill above the “MAA.” line.
- Close the lid and place the kettle onto the power base. Plug the power cord into a power outlet
- Press the On/Off Switch. The red indicator light will turn on.
- The kettle will automatically turn off once it has finished boiling the water.
Note:
- The minimum amount of water needed for boiling is 2.1 US cups/ 0.5 L.
- You can stop the heating process by flipping the On/Off Switch back up while the kettle is operating.
- This kettle has a dry-run safety feature. If there is no water inside the kettle, it will automatically turn off to prevent the heating plate from overheating.
- If the kettle overheats, fill it with cold water and wait for 2 minutes before using again.
Descaling the Kettle
What is Hard Water?
- Hard water is a kind of water that contains calcium or magnesium mineral ions that often in the form of carbonate
- These ions do not pose any health threat, but they can engage in reactions that leave insoluble mineral deposits.
Notes
It’s normal if your kettle exposes spots or rust on the stainless steel bottom
after the first use if the water quality in your area is so hard.
How to Descale/Clean the Kettle?
Cleaning
- Unplug the kettle and allow it to cool before cleaning.
- Wipe the kettle and base with a soft, damp cloth. Make sure that the electric socket on the underside of the kettle is kept dry.
- Dry all parts after every use.
Note: Never immerse kettle or power base in water.
General Safety
DO NOT touch the base or the steel parts of the kettle while the
appliance is operating or immediately after operation. These components will
be hot and may cause burns or other personal injuries.

chipped, or if the power cord or plug is damaged in anyway. Stop using and

moisture from causing a short circuit in the power base while it is plugged
