Functions
Variable Temperature Control
The electronic control panel offers four different temperature settings for
optimal tea and coffee brewing:
WHITE
| GREEN| OOLONG| COFFEE| BOIL BLACK
---|---|---|---|---
170°F| 180°F| 195°F| 205°F|
212°F
Note
This product is not calibrated for commercial or scientific use. Temperatures
may vary +/-5 °C degrees, being within range for optimal brewing for each type
of tea or coffee.
Optimal Brewing
Tea varieties are grown and produced in many different environments and require different water temperatures to allow their unique fiavour and aroma to develop during brewing. To bring out the optimal quality and taste of more delicate tea leaves, a lower temperature will produce a better flavored cup of tea.
For example, steeping green or oolong teas in boiling water may scald the tea leaves and result in a bitter, astringent brew. Brewing the tea for too long may also result in a bitter, unpleasant taste; while brewing for too short a period may leave the tea bland. For best results always follow the specific directions on the tea/coffee packet. To bring out the optimal taste and quality of your favorite tea or coffee, we recommend that you use your Longdeem TempSet TM Kettle and the corresponding temperature indicated on the control panel.
Keep Warm Function
The Longdeem TempSet TM Kettle offers a convenient KEEP WARM function that can be activated before, during or on completion of the water heating cycle. If activated, when the water has reached the selected Celsius temperature, the KEEP WARM function will hold the selected temperature for 30 minutes. If the 2 l 2°F button is selected when using the KEEP WARM function, the boiled water will remain at approximately 205° F Celsius for 30 minutes.
To activate the KEEP WARM function, first press the desired water temperature button from the four options on the control panel, then press the KEEP WARM button, and the kettle will start heating the water. Alternatively, you can activate the KEEP WARM button at any time during and/or within 10 minutes after the heating cycle. If the kettle is removed from the power base for more than ten minutes during the KEEP WARM function, the kettle will automatically turn off.
Note
If you change the temperature setting to a higher setting during the KEEP WARM
function, the area around the BOIL BLACK button will light up with a white
light, and heating will start automatically. If the KEEP WARM function is not
selected within 10 minutes after the end of the heating cycle, the boiling
process will need to be restarted. Be sure to press the KEEP WARM button at
any time before or during the heating cycle and/or within 10 minutes after the
heating cycle is complete.
