Important Safeguards

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

1. Read all Instructions.

2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.

3. To protect against fire, electric shock and injury to persons do not immerse cord, plugs, or appliance in water or other liquid.

4. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
   Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.

5. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.

6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or adjustment.

7. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock or injury to persons.

8. Do not use outdoors.

9. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.

10. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.

11. To disconnect, turn any control to “off “, then remove plug from wall outlet.

12. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.

13. Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during the brewing cycles.

14. To reduce the risk of injury, do not drape cord over the counter top or table top where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintention- ally.

Save These Instructions Household Use Only

1. A short power-supply cord is to be provided to reduce risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
2. Longer extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
3. If an extension cord is used:
   a) The marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance;
   b) The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or table top where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.
   c) the extension cord should be a grounding-type 3-wire cord. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
   CAUTION: Risk of injury, any other servicing should be performed by an authorized service representative

Gering To Know Your Kettle

Water Test

CAUTION : Do not use the kettle if it is damaged. Contact Customer Support to replace your kettle.
Perform the water test before using your kettle to make sure it’s working properly.
Do not drink the water that is boiled during this initial test.

1. Remove all packaging from your kettle and its accessories, including any temporary stickers.
2. Completely unravel the power cable and place the power base on a flat, level surface.
3. Press the Lid Release Button to open the lid. [Figure 1.1]
4. Fill the kettle with water to the “MAX” line, then close the lid. [Figure 1.2] Place the ketfle onto the power base. Plug the power cord info a power outlet.
5. Press the On/Off Switch. The red indicator light will turn on. [Figure 1.3]
6. The kettle will automatically turn off once it has finished boiling the water.
   Allow it to cool for at least 5 minutes, then pour out the water.

Boiling Water

Do not boil other liquids in this kettle.
This kettle should only be used for boiling water.

1. Press the Lid Release Button to open the lid.
2. Fill the kettle to the desired level. Do not fill above the “MAX” line.
3. Close the lid and place the kettle onto the power base. Plug the power cord into a power outlet
4. Press the On/Off Switch. The red indicator light will turn on.
5. The kettle will automatically turn off once it has finished boiling the water.

Note:

• The minimum amount of water needed for boiling is 2.1 US cups / 0.5 L.
• You can stop the heating process by flipping the On/Off Switch back up while the kettle is operating.
• This kettle has a dry-run safety feature. If there is no water inside the kettle, it will automatically turn off to prevent the heating plate from overheating.
• If the kettle overheats, fill it with cold water and wait for 2 minutes before using again.

Descaling the Kettle

What is Hard Water?
Hard water is a kind of water that contains calcium or magnesium mineral ions that often in the form of carbonate These ions do not pose any health threat, but they can engage in reactions that leave insoluble mineral deposits.

Notes
It’s normal if your kettle exposes spots or rust on the stainless steel bottom after the first use if the water quality in your area is so hard.
How to Descale/Clean the Kettle?

1. Filling the kettle with 1 cup of vinegar or lemon juice and
2 cups of water.| 2. Boiling the liquid and leave it for 2 hours, then use a cloth
to clean and wipe.| 3. Rinse the kettle with clean water, and dry with a soft,
clean cloth. Repeat as needed.

Cleaning

1. Unplug the kettle and allow it to cool before cleaning.
2. Wipe the kettle and base with a soft, damp cloth. Make sure that the electric socket on the underside of the kettle is kept dry.
3. Dry all parts after every use.
   Note : Never immerse kettle or power base in water.

General Safety

DO NOT touch the base or the steel parts of the kettle while the appliance is operating or immediately after operation. These components will be hot and may cause burns or other personal injuries.
DO NOT fill the kettle above the “MAX” line..Doing this may cause the water to boil over during operation and may result in scalding. Minimum amount of water needed for boiling is 0.5 L, too little water will result in the kettle switching off before the water has boiled. ALWAYS handle with care when there is hot water inside the kettle.
Failure to do so may result in burns or scalding.
Use the appliance with the specified voltage 120V 60Hz.
DO NOT allow children to use or play with this appliance. Always keep this kettle and its components out of reach from children.
DO NOT use the kettle if the kettle is malfunctioning, if it is broken or chipped, or if the power cord or plug is damaged in anyway. Stop using and contact with Customer Support immed lately, ALWAYS unplug the kettle when it is not being used. This will prevent moisture from causing a short circuit in the power base while it is plugged in.
