Do not clean with metal scouring pads. Pieces can break off the pad and touch electrical parts creating an electric shock hazard

Do not place the toaster in direct sunlight. Colour fading and disco- louration may occur when the toaster is consistently exposed to UV light.

Important Safeguards For All Electrical Appliances
- Fully unwind the power cord before use.
- Connect only to a 120V power outlet.
- The appliance must be used on a properly grounded outlet. If it is not sure, please consult a qualified electrician.
- Do not, under any circumstances, modify the power plug or use a power plug adapter.
- Do not place this appliance on or near a heat source, such as hot plate, oven or heaters.
- Position the appliance at a minimum distance of 8 inch away from walls, curtains and other heat or steam sensitive materials and provide adequate space above and on all sides for air circulation.
- Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of a bench or table, touch hot surfaces or become knotted.

- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- Always turn the appliance to the OFF position, switch off at the power outlet and unplug at the power outlet when the appliance is not in use.

Note
This Longdeem 2 55ce Toaster is electronically controlled and will not operate
until the toaster is plugged into a 120V power point, switched on and the
lever latched down
Warning
- Never operate the toaster on its side.
- Never add any food substance to the bread, muffins or crumpets as this can lead to electrocution or fine.
- This tooster is for toasting bread, crumpets and muffins only. Macing other items in the toaster can lead to electrocution or a fire
Warning
Do not carry or move the toaster by holding the top metal cover between
toasting slots as sharp edges may cause injury.

B. Carriage Control Lever with LIFT+ LOOK/HIGH LIFT Lower the lever to lock the carriage into place for toasting or use the lever during the toasting cyde to raise the carriage so you can check the toasting progress without interrupting the toasting cyde.

Functions
BEFORE FIRST USE
Before first use, remove any packaging material or promotional labels attached
to your foaster.
-
Place the toaster on a dry, level heat resistant surface and
-
unwrap the power cord from the base of the fooster.
-
Insert the power plug into a 120 volt power outlet and then turn the power on.
-
Press the carriage control lever down until it locks into position. The toasting cyde will automatically commence
Note
If the toaster is not plugged in and switched on at the power outlet, the carriage control lever will not lock into position. -
The toaster stops toasting when it has reached the end of the selected browning cyde. The toast will automatically rise in the slots. The toasting process can be stopped at any time by pressing the CANCEL button
Note
When using the toaster for the first time, we suggest toasting on the maximum
setting without bread. The toaster may emit a thin smoke or distinct odour on
initial use. This is normal and not detrimental to the performance of the
toaster.
- Place only 1 slice of bread into each of the toasting slots. Ensure the bread slices are not too large or thick to fit the skits. If less than 4 slices are inserted, the usual browning setting may need to be reduced to avoid the toast burning
- Select the desired browning setting using the browning control dial. Colour settings range from 1 lightest to 6′ darkest
Note
When using the fooster for the first time, we suggest foosting the bread on
setting 3 or 4. Varying types of bread and personal preference may require a
different browning setting, for example, raisin toast and white light-tex-
tured breads may require a lower setting, whilst heavier textured rye breads
may require a darker setting
Warning
Do not leave unattended when in use as toast may jam or wedge in the bread
comage. Never attempt to extract toast, crumpets or muffins or any other item
that has jammed or wedged in the toaster with a knife or any other object, as
contact with live elements may not only damage the elements, but con cause
electrocution.
‘LIFT + LOOK’ FEATURE
This feature can be used to check on the progress of the toasting cyde without
interrupting it. Simply raise the carriage control lever to check on the
browning progress of the toast and lower it down again if you wish to continue
to toast
HIGH LIFT FEATURE
Once the toasting cyde has completed, to remove smaller items such as crumpets
and muffins, lift the carriage control level to the HIGH LIFT position,
approximately 1cm above the starting position. In the unlikely event that the
bread, crumpet or muffins become jammed, switch the power off at the power
outlet, then remove the power plug from the power outlet and use the high lift
lever to carefully ease the bread out of the toaster, ensuring that you do not
damage the self-centring slots or the elements.
BAGEL FUNCTION
The bagel setting words great for English muffins, too!
- Place one half in toasting slot with the cut sides facing the middle.
- Set the browning control to desired setting.
- Press the push-down lever down until it engages. The LED on the Cancel button lights up.
- Press the BAGEL button. The bagel indicator will light up. Ensure bagel dosen’t burn.
- The loading lever will rise automatically when the toasting cycle is complete.
FROZEN/FRUIT BREAD SETTING
To toast frozen bread (white light surround)
- Place the frozen bread into the toasting slots.
- Select the browning setting you would normally select if the bread was fresh.
- Lower the carriage control lever until it locks into position.
- Press the FROZEN/FRUIT BREAD button once and the button will illuminate white.
- Once the toasting cyde has finished, the carriage will rise automatically
- Remove the toast.
To toast fruit bread (red light surround)
- Place the fruit bread into the toasting slots
- To start the toasting process, press down the carriage control lever until it locks into place.
- To select the FRUIT BREAD setting, press the FROZEN/FRUIT BREAD button twice and the button will illuminate red.
- Select the desired browning setting by adjusting the BROWNING CONTROL DIAL from setting, ‘1’ (lightest) to ‘6’ (darkest).
- Once the toasting cyde has finished, the carriage will rise automatically.
- Remove the fruit toast.
Note
The FROZEN BREAD function and BAGEL function cannot be operated at the same
time.
CANCEL BUTTON
The toasting and defrosting cycles can be cancelled at any time by pressing the CANCEL button. When the CANCEL button is pressed, the toaster will turn off and automatically raise the toast.
Care, Cleaning & Storage
CARE AND CLEANING
- Switch the toaster off at the power outlet and then remove the power plug from the power outlet. Allow the toaster to cool completely before deaning
- The crumb trays will need to be cleaned regularly to avoid bread- crumbs, dried fruits, crusts etc. accumulating in the bottom of the toaster.
- To remove the crumbs from the toaster, slide the crumb trays out from under the toaster carriage by pulling outwards away from the toaster.
- Discard the crumbs and wipe trays over with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
- To remove any additional crumbs that have accumulated in the toasting carriages, tum the toaster upside down over a sink or bin and shake crumbs free.
- Ensure crumb trays are dried thoroughly. Place crumb trays back into position by sliding the tray back and push in until completely locked into place.
- Wipe the outside of the toaster with a slightly dampened soft cloth and then dry it with a soft dry cloth to dry completely.
Note

STORAGE
Switch the toaster off at the power outlet and remove the power plug from the power outlet. Allow the toaster to cool completely before storing. Follow the directions for cleaning and store in an upright position on a flat surface on a bench top or in an accessible cupboard. Do not store anything on top of the toaster

Do not immerse the toaster or power cord in water or any other liquid.
Warning
Do not use the toaster without the slide-out crumb tray(s) in position. Do not
allow crumbs to build up in the crumb tray(s). Failure to clean the crumb
tray(s) regularly may result in a fire hazard,
Note
Exposure to cooking oils and deaning chemicals may cause colour fading and
discolouration to the toaster. If the toaster is exposed to oils or chemicals,
turn off and unplug the appliance and use o damp doth to clean the exterior
surface of the toaster. Dry thoroughly before use
