Flexible bands go behind the existing vehicle’s mirror and attach to the plastic hooks on the Gator Mirror Monitor. The forward-facing camera mounting arm can be extended outwards as well as the camera lens angled up and down.

  1. Insert a Micro SD card into the Mirror Monitor. Once the device is powered it will ask you to format the SD card.

  2. The clip-on mirror design securely mounts on the existing rearview mirror in the vehicle by stretching the bands at the back. There are two positions based on the thickness of the existing mirror.

  3. Insert the power cable (12/24V DC Wiring Harness Pic1) into the camera input (USB Type C) of the Mirror Monitor.

  4. The power cable will then need to be routed towards the direction of the fuse box by concealing the cable along the side of the vehicle’s A-pillar. Always refer to the vehicle’s owner’s manual to avoid fuse slots that could pertain to certain safety features within your vehicle. 6. Test the Mirror Monitor is working before fixing the cable along the ceiling or A-pillar where it can be safely hidden. Any excess output cable length can be wrapped and held together with a cable tie when it reaches the fuse box. Tuck away any excess output cable behind the fuse box.
(Note: The regulator is not a low-level battery protection module, meaning that it may drain the battery of the vehicle if left for a long time without use).

  7. Connect the camera splitter cable to the power input (USB Type on the mirror. Connect the reverse camera lead to the 4-pin connector of the camera splitter cable. 10. Turn the vehicle’s ignition on, and the Mirror Monitor will automatically start recording.

  11. When recording the recording indicator LED will flash red and a timer will start.

Settings – Time-lapse recording
Time-lapse mode will only work when in the parkmode. It will display the message “will enter time-lapse” on the screen when active on startup. In Time- lapse recording the Mirror Monitor switches to recording at a reduced frame rate and will record 1 frame a second rather than 25fps normal recording, allowing for more footage to take up less space on the SD Card. Upon playback, everything appears to be rolling faster than the average speed. Recorded files will have a (P) in the file name when viewed on a computer. eg: CH1-20230328-103559.TS (normal recorded file) CH1-20230328-103578(P). TS (time-lapse recorded file).
Note: The time-lapse function will not work if the battery of the vehicle drops below 12.5 Volts.

GATOR-GRV93MKT-A6-Caravan-Safety-Accessories-fig-8 Select a recorded file for playback on screen. Touch the recording to pause and play. Connecting to a computer
You can remove the SD card from the Mirror Monitor and plug the card directly into your computer to access files. With the SD card inserted into a computer, it will recognise the storage device as 93MKT. Three folders will appear within the storage device. Event (for locked files), Normal and Photo. Inside these folders will also be separate folders for front, rear and In- cabin recordings including time-lapse recordings.

G-sensor sensitivity

This function activates in the case of a car accident by determining the gravitational acceleration (1g = 9.8 meters/secondA2). When this function activates the Mirror Monitor will automatically save a 20-second video file and save it to the Event folder on the SD card. In the recorded files name a (G) will display stating in parking mode and manually locked. When the file is manually locked with a G sensor recording a
(PG) will be in the file name. We recommend Low Sensitivity to avoid false triggers.

G-sensor sensitivity cont…
Note: With this function turned on it may fill up the SD card with locked video files. Re-format the SD card to create space. The device does NOT guarantee video recording of all accidents as the built-in impact sensor may not be activated due to the combination of user settings and the level of impact during the collision.

Reversing guidelines
When triggered, the reversing guidelines only assist a driver with backing into a parking space or aligning with an object behind the vehicle. They do not measure distance. You should always get out of the vehicle and visually check the distance to aid the driver when using guidelines.

Formatting SD card
SD cards need to be formatted in the Mirror Monitor to be recognised. You will be prompted on the screen to format the SD card. If you have the setting G-sensor function on or create locked files, this will fill up the SD card causing it to stop recording any footage. We recommended that the user format the card regularly to clear locked files and clear up space on the SD card.
