Prepare door and check dimensions
If drilling a new door, use the supplied template and the complete door
drilling instructions available at
kwikset.com/doorprepe
Passage levers only: Call Kwikset to order a service kit for 2-1/4″ (57 mm) thick doors
Adjust the backset of the latch (if needed)

A ) Hold the latch in front of the door hole, with the latch face flush against the door edge.

B ) If the latch holes are centered in the door hole, no adjustment is required. Proceed to step 3. If the latch holes are NOT centered, adjust latch. See “Latch Adjustment” (step 2C).

C ) Latch Adjustment (only if needed)
Move the pin to extend the latch
Install latch

INSTALLATION
Drilling Template
Edge of the door
Template is only needed if a new hole must be drilled in the door.
Face of the door
Remove interior lever
Loosen the pre-installed set screw to remove lever. Do not remove set screw.
Install levers
IMPORTANT: installing a passage lock on an entry door, make sure the lever with the screw holes s on the interior side of the door.
Install interior lever base
Push upon lever base while door to see where screws insert. tightening screws to keep latch horizontal and centered.
Install interior ever and tighten pre-installed set screw.
Find your lever style in the chart and determine if your levers are oriented correctly. I your lever is notincluded in this chart, please skip this step.

of the door.
Install strike on door frame
Closedoorand estiatch operation. Iflatch s Ioose in the strike, adjust strike
tab so it grips. e} the latch bolt better when the door Is closed.
Privacy locks only
Save the bedroom/bathroom emergency unlock tool () for future use.
