Smart-Play Smartphone Connectivity Interface for
Audi Vehicles with Concert / Symphony Non-MMI Radios
PRODUCT FEATURES:
- Smart-Play Integration system allows connection of Android and other smartphones to the Audi non-MMI system.
- Made for Android Auto and CarPlay.
- Control Apps using the smartphone’s voice control feature or touch panel provided.
- Adds front and rear aftermarket camera inputs.
- Includes AMI to RCA auxiliary adapter cable.
NOTES:
The vehicle MUST have a NAV button on the steering wheel controls.
The vehicle MUST have the MMI controls on the radio.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Carefully remove the dash panel trim with a plastic pry tool. Work your
way around the panel to avoid
damaging it.| 2. Unplug the connector behind the dash panel trim.| 3.
Carefully remove the air vent using a plastic pry tool. Work your way around
the vent to avoid damaging it.
4. Unplug the 2-pin connector behind
the air vent.| 5. Remove the AC control module with
a plastic pry tool.| 6. Unplug the 2 connectors behind the
AC control module.
7. Remove the 4 screws holding the radio.| 8. Unplug the radio connectors,
and antenna and set aside the radio.| 9. Remove the OEM screen by removing
the 4 T-20 Torx screws on each corner.
10. Unplug the 10-pin LVDS connector.| 11. On a clean, flat surface, remove
the 4 screws holding the screen’s metal frame.| 12. Using a flat head
screwdriver, carefully pry the locks to release the metal frame.
13. Gently peel off the touch panel’s
protective film on both sides.| 14. Lay the touch panel on top of the
OEM screen.| 15. Reinstall the metal frame as shown above being careful not
to damage the flexible circuit.
16. Reinstall the 4 screws holding the
metal frame. Touch panel installation is
now complete| 17. Connect the touch screen’s flexible circuit to the touch
panel PCB/cable provided.| 18. Plug the 10-pin LVDS connector on the LVDS
cable provided to the OEM screen.
19. Plug the OEM LVDS connector into
the LVDS cable provided in the kit.| 20. Plug in the other end of the touch
panel PCB/cable to the Smart-Play module port next to the HDMI port.| 21.
Install the front and rear cameras (if applicable) and power using the power
wires provided.
22. Tap the Smart-Play module power wires to the cigarette lighter wires|
23. Plug in the 4K HDMI cable provided with the kit to the Smart-Play
module.| 24. Plug the 2-pin power wire connector into the Smart-Play module.
25. Plug in the 4K HDMI cable to the ACPAD-01 module.| 26. Plug in the USB
extension cable to the Smart-Play module.| 27. Run the other end of the USB
extension cable to an accessible location.
28. Plug the AMI to 3.5mm Audio adapter into the AMI port in the glove box.|
29. Run the 3.5mm plug cable towards the radio. We suggest inserting it into
the hole as pictured above.| 30. Plug the 3.5mm Audio plug into the Aux input
of the Smart-Play module.
31. Mount the microphone to the desired location. Run the cable towards the Smart-Play module location and plug it into the Mic port.
32. Plug an OEM smartphone cable into the USB extension cable
and test for other functionality. Control Android Auto and other
2-way mirroring devices using the touch screen.| 33. Reinstall the radio, AC
control module, and dash panel
trim by reversing the process.
OPERATION:
To enter and exit the Smart-Play mode, press the NAV button on the steering wheel controls for 2 seconds.
ON-SCREEN DISPLAY (OSD) SETTINGS:
The OSD Setting Screen automatically pops up when the OSD Control Pad is
connected.
Use the OSD menu to make the necessary settings. Remember to Run Save&Reboot after the settings are made. Unplug the OSD Control Pad after setting the cameras and keep it in a secure location in case it is needed to change the settings.
SMART-PLAY SETTING
After plugging in the OSD controller,
navigate down to LVDS Input and set it to ON.
Push the RIGHT button to go
to the next menu.| Set Navi Brand to NV17| Navigate the OSD back to the main
menu and go to
Save&Reboot then Run.
REAR AND FRONT CAMERA SETTING
Dynamic Parking Guide Lines
To turn ON the Dynamic Parking Guide Lines, go to the Rear Input > Rear Set and turn ON Warning LANG. Go back to the root menu and
FRONT CAMERA SETTING
The front Camera will automatically show on the screen when the gear is put to Drive from Reverse. Set the delay time on the OSD menu. Delay time can be set from 1 to 60 seconds after putting the car to drive from the reverse.
