Programming HomeLink with SOMMER Operator:

  1. Press and hold the outer HomeLink buttons in the vehicle for approximately 30 seconds. Do not release the buttons until the HomeLink LED has gone out.
  2. Briefly press the RADIO button in the motor carriage or on the control unit. The LED will light up.
  3. Return to the vehicle and press the desired HomeLink button for two seconds.
  4. Press the same HomeLink button again for two seconds to activate the operator.
  5. The operator has been successfully programmed.
  6. To program another operator, repeat steps 2-4.

Reprogramming Older SOMMER Operators:

Note: This section is applicable if the HomeLink system was previously set to Default mode (D-Mode) via the infotainment system.

  1. Set the HomeLink system of the vehicle back to Standard mode by pressing and holding the desired channel button.
  2. After 20 seconds, the LED will blink slowly, indicating that Standard mode is active again.

Note: The above instructions are for programming handheld transmitters without Rollingcode (third-party products) and older SOMMER receivers.

Programming HomeLink

INFORMATION

The following action deletes all HomeLink commands previously programmed in the vehicle. These commands will then need to be reprogrammed.

  • Activation of the Default mode (D-Mode) for HomeLink in the vehicle differs from vehicle to vehicle. See the vehicle manufacturer’s instructions.

  • The following section describes the use of a vehicle with exclusively 3 mechanical buttons without an adjustment option in the infotainment system

To program on a SOMMER operator for the first time, press the outer HomeLink buttons (in the vehicle) for approx. 30 seconds. Do not release the buttons until the HomeLink LED has gone out.

INFORMATION
The following steps can be carried out more quickly and easily by two persons working together.

Briefly press the RADIO button in the motor carriage / on the control unit.

  • LED lights up.

INFORMATION
When the button has been pressed, you have approx. 30 seconds to continue with the next step.

  • Return to the vehicle and press the desired HomeLink button (in the vehicle) for two seconds.
  • Press the desired HomeLink button again for two seconds to activate the operator.
    • The operator has been successfully programmed.
  • To programme a further operator: Repeat Steps 2-4.

Reprogramming older SOMMER operators

INFORMATION

  • As described above, before programming the HomeLink module, the entire HomeLink system in the vehicle is reset. The following section describes how to reprogram older SOMMER receivers (without SOMloq2) and third-party receivers.
  • (If D-Mode was set via the infotainment system, Step 1 is not required).
  1. Set the HomeLink system of the vehicle from D-Mode back to Standard mode. To do this, press and hold the desired channel button.
    • After 20 s, the LED blinks slowly
  2. Standard mode is active again

Handheld transmitters without Rollingcode (third-party products)

  • Press and hold the HomeLink button (in the vehicle) and the desired handheld transmitter button simultaneously. (Handheld transmitter must already be programmed on the receiver)

  • LED on the HomeLink system blinks quickly

    • The handheld transmitter has been successfully programmed
      Handheld transmitters with Rolling code (SOMMER):
  • Press and hold the HomeLink button (in the vehicle) and the desired handheld transmitter button simultaneously.

(Handheld transmitter must already be programmed on the receiver)

  • * HomeLink LED blinks quickly
  • Release the HomeLink button and handheld transmitter button.
  • Press the Radio button on the operator.
    • LED lights up for approx. 30 seconds
  • Press the desired HomeLink button in the vehicle within this time window.
    • The handheld transmitter has been successfully programmed.
