SOMMER GIGA Box Cover with Hole
Product Description
This product is suitable for connecting the following accessories:
- optical safety edge
- slip door contact
- slack wire switch
Installation
- Up to 5 screwed cable glands (M16) can be inserted into the housing (bottom section).
- The openings for the screwed glands are pre-stamped and, for example, can be pierced with a screwdriver.
- Another pre-stamp can be found in the housing cover. After opening the spiral cable can be inserted into the housing.
- A spiral-screwed gland (M16) must be used to prevent kinking.
NOTE: If the gate socket has been fitted with a spiral cable at the factory, this step is not required.
INFORMATION
- The board must be removed before piercing the openings!
NOTE
Note the following to ensure that protection class IP54 (without gasket in the
cover) or IP65 (with gasket in the cover) is maintained:
- The screwed glands in the housing must be locked with the included lock nuts. Bars are installed inside the housing at every opening in which the lock nuts can be inserted.
- Install the gate socket so the screwed glands on the long side of the housing are pointing down.
- Tighten the cover of the housing evenly and sufficiently tightly with the 4 included screws.

- X1 = connection to junction box 2
- X5 = OSE
- X2 = OSE
- X6 = spiral cable/junction box 1 input
- X3 = safety circuit
- X8 = single mode/2nd junction box (SW2)
- X4 = safety circuit

NOTE
Jumper SW2 closes the safety circuit if no second junction box is connected.
It must be plugged in!

- Batteries and accumulators in electrical appliances that can be removed non-destructively must be disposed of separately from the appliance.
NOTE
- Dispose of all components in accordance with local and national regulations to avoid environmental damage.
- Wherever possible, avoid the production of waste. Please check before disposing of components whether it is possible to recycle them.

- This Directive provides the framework for the EU-wide return and recycling of used equipment.
- Operator components that have been taken out of service as well as old accumulators and batteries must not be disposed of with household waste.
- Components that are no longer in use, old accumulators, and batteries must be disposed of properly.
