DUCO L2001962-I Remote Control Room Sensor

DUCO-L2001962-I-Remote-Control-Room-Sensor-product

Product Information

The product is a remote control and room sensor designed for use with a ventilation system. It has various buttons and LED indicators for easy operation. The remote control can be powered either by RF or battery, while the room sensor can be connected either wirelessly (RF / 230 VAC) or through wired communication (Wired / 24 VDC). The components have different LED indications to show their status.

The product is designed to be mounted using a socket box with a minimum depth of 47 mm and 2 screw holes. For RF components, there should be a maximum distance of 350 m (line of sight) between the various components, with a minimum distance of 30 cm from RF interference-causing materials such as metal. Other RF equipment operating at 868 MHz can also affect the range of the components.

The remote control uses a CR2430 3V battery, which is already installed upon delivery and has a normal lifespan of 3 to 5 years. The wired communication requires a 5 x 0.8 mm solid-core cable connected using screw connectors. The RF communication should be set up in an interference-free environment, and the mains supply cables should be connected to the existing power supply cables on the component using lever connectors.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. To connect the remote control or room sensor to the ventilation system, follow these steps:
  2. Activate ‘Installer mode’ on the master unit (DucoBox or IQ unit) by tapping ‘INST’. The LED will flash green rapidly.
  3. If using a zonal system, tap the button of a Control Valve once to make the LED flash green quickly. Components in this zone can now be added.
  4. To add the remote control or room sensor, tap any button on the component once. For a CO2 room sensor without control, press the LED opening. The LED will start flashing green rapidly.
  5. To add window ventilators, tap the component to be paired once. The LED will flash green slowly.
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all remaining components in the current zone are paired.
  7. For zonal systems only, repeat steps 2 to 5 for the remaining zones.
  8. Once all components are paired, deactivate ‘Installer mode’ by tapping ‘INST’ on the master unit. The LEDs on all components will stop flashing.

For more detailed user instructions, please refer to the user manual at www.duco.eu.

Keep this manual and packaging carefully as long as the product is in use!

Application

The remote control can be used as a local user controller, optionally fitted with CO2 or moisture measurement.

Depending on the type, a remote control/room sensor will command the ventilation system based on:

  • manually selected setting
  • CO2 concentration
  • relative humidity (RH)

Mounting

FIXING

  • Not for ‘RF/Battery’ components: Provide a socket box preferably with a minimum depth of 47 mm and 2 screw holes.
  • Connect the cables as shown in the table below.

Ensure none of the cables are live before connecting them.

CONNECTION
To connect the room operating unit/room sensor, a choice can be made between wireless communication (RF / 230 VAC) or wired communication (Wired / 24 VDC) to do this.

For RF components observe a maximum distance of 350 m (line of sight) between the various components (obstacles can reduce this distance substantially), and a minimum distance of 30 cm between the component and material causing RF interference such as metal. Other RF equipment operating at 868 MHz can also have a detrimental effect on component range.

REPLACE BATTERY

‘RF/Battery’ only

The battery is already installed on delivery. Battery life in normal use: 3 to 5 years

  • WIRED/24 VDC
Use an EN60335-certified power source. Connect the 5 x 0.8 mm solid-core cable using the screw connectors.

  • RF/230 VAC
Fit the remote control in an interference-free environment so RF signals can be transmitted/received properly. Connect the mains supply cables to the existing power supply cables on the component using lever connectors (not included)

Linking to ventilation system

PAIRING

Perform the following steps to pair a Remote control/Room sensor with the ventilation system.

  • To pair a user controller/sensor to an iAV Control Valve, follow the steps in the iAV Control Valve manual.
  • To pair a user controller/sensor to a DucoBox Energy, use the step-by-step guidance via the display; follow the relevant manual.
  1. Activate ‘Installer mode’ by tapping ‘INST’ on the master unit (DucoBox or IQ unit). The LED will flash green rapidly.
  2. Only for zonal system: Tap the button of a Control Valve once so that the LED starts flashing green quickly.Underlying components can now be added in this zone.
  3. Add the Remote Control/Room sensor by tapping 1x on any button of this component (For a CO2 Room sensor without control, the LED opening can be pressed). The LED will start to flash green rapidly.
  4. Add any window ventilators by tapping once on the component to be paired. The LED will flash green slowly.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until all remaining components in the current zone are paired.
  6. For zonal systems only: Repeat steps 2 up to 5 for the remaining zones.
  7. Once all components have been paired, ‘Installer mode’ can be deactivated by tapping ‘INST’ on the ‘master unit’. The LEDs on all components will stop flashing and the system will revert to ‘User mode’.DUCO-L2001962-I-Remote-Control-Room-Sensor-fig- \(6\)
REMOVING AND REPLACING

Removing paired components from the network or replacing is only possible within 30 minutes after the component is paired or restarted. Restarting can be done by disconnecting the power for a moment. After a time-span of 30 minutes, remove and replace operations are ignored. This is valid for all components from date of manufacture 170323.
