SSW MOU 5 – Chop Saw Mould Removal Machine

Product Information

The product is a Mould Removal machine used for removing moulds
from a designated area. It is important to follow the operating and
safety instructions provided in this manual to ensure safe usage of
the machine.

Safe System of Work

The Safe System of Work for operating the Mould Removal machine
includes the following steps:

  1. Clear all sprues and odd mouldings from the machine
    surroundings and place them in designated barrels.

  2. Conduct a machine safety check before removing the mould.

  3. Clean the inside of the mould thoroughly, removing any water,
    grease, and dirt.

  4. Spray the mould with Mould Protective.

  5. Turn off the water on all inlet and outlet fittings at the rear
    of the Moulding machine.

  6. Open the back door to turn off the motor.

  7. Remove brass water fittings from the mould and pull all water
    pipes away from the mould.

  8. Close the back door.

  9. Turn on the motor and close the mould.

  10. Release clamps on the moving half of the mould.

Product Usage Instructions

Follow these steps to safely use the Mould Removal machine:

  1. Before starting, ensure that all sprues and odd mouldings are
    cleared from the machine surroundings and placed in designated
    barrels.

  2. Perform a safety check on the machine to ensure it is in proper
    working condition.

  3. Thoroughly clean the inside of the mould, removing any water,
    grease, and dirt.

  4. Spray the mould with Mould Protective.

  5. Turn off the water supply to the machine by closing all inlet
    and outlet fittings at the rear.

  6. Open the back door of the machine to turn off the motor.

  7. Remove the brass water fittings from the mould and pull all
    water pipes away from the mould.

  8. Close the back door.

  9. Turn on the motor.

  10. Close the mould.

  11. Release the clamps on the moving half of the mould.

Please ensure that you wear the required Personal Protective
Equipment (PPE) when using the machinery. If you encounter any
issues with the machinery or require further training, immediately
inform your Supervisor or Manager.

Safe System of Work OPERATING AND SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR MOULD REMOVAL

Instruction
1 Explain that safety equipment must be used at all times and why ­ safety boots must be used at all times when running machines, it is advisable to wear glove for this task.
2 Before the removal of the Mould all sprues and any odd mouldings need to be cleared from machine surroundings, and placed in designated barrels.
3 Conduct machine safety check before removal of Mould. 4 Clean inside Mould thoroughly, removing any water, grease and
dirt then spray Mould with Mould Protective. 5 Turn water off on all inlet and outlet fittings at rear of Moulding
machine, open the back door, this will turn the motor off. 6 Remove brass water fittings from Mould, pull all water pipes away
from Mould, close back door. 7 Turn motor on, close mould, release clamps on moving half of
Mould using Allen key and bar, bottom clamps MUST be removed first, open Mould and attach lifting strap, turn motor off on machine. 8 Obtain desired shackle and eye bolt insert these to lifting strap, clamp shackle to lifting strap, pull chain taught. 9 Remove clamps on fixed half of Mould using Allen key and bar, bottom clamps MUST be removed first, mould will drop slightly, guide Mould out off and over tie bars, DO NOT stand under any Moulds during removal. 10 Blow out all water ways using air gun, this will stop the water ways from rusting giving the Mould a longer life. do not use air gun on clothing or body, 11 Place mould onto pallet or lifting trolley and place on shelf, removal complete, fill out mould change form. 12 Do not use any machine unless trained and authorised by Manager/ Setter.
