General Safety Instructions

Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing.

This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
– staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
– farm houses;
– by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
– bed and breakfast type environments -
The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose.

This appliance is not fit for commercial use. Do not use it outdoors (except if it is designed to be used outdoors). Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately. Do not put it in water.

When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull on the plug, not the cable) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.

Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. Never leave the appliance unsupervised. To protect children from the dangers posed by electrical appliance, make sure that the cable is hanging low and that children do not have access to the appliance.

Check the appliance and the cable for damage on a regular basis. Do not use the appliance if it is damaged.

Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always contact an authorized technician.
To avoid the exposure to danger, always have a faulty cable be replaced only by the manufacturer, by our customer service or by a qualified person and with a cable of the same type. -
Use only original spare parts.

Pay careful attention to the following “Special Safety Instructions”.
Special Safety Instructions for this Ketlle
- Use only cold water when filling.
- The water level must be between the MAX. and MIN. marks! If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may be ejected, which might arise a hazard to the user.
- CAUTION-Ensure that the kettle is switched off before removing it from its stand.
- The kettle is only to be used with the stand provided.
- The appliance must not be immersed in water.
- The appliance can only be used for household only.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
- Always ensure that the lid is tightly closed.
- The base and exterior of the kettle must not become wet.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
First Use of the Kettle
Please read these operating instructions carefully and keep them in a safe place. Before using for the first time, boil fresh water at least twice in the appliance. Use only water without any additives or ingredients.
Use

Place the kettle on a flat surface.

Open the kettle by pressing the unlocking button on the handle. Then fill in some water.
The water level can be read off using the water level indicator on the kettle. Please do not overfill the kettle. -
Close the lid by releasing the unlocking button on the handle.

Place the kettle flush on the base.
Electrical Connection -
Switch the kettle on with the switch in the handle bottom. The indicator light turns up.

The kettle switches off automatically when the water has boiled. Now disconnect the kettle from the mains power supply. Always hold the lid closed when pouring the water out. Beware of scalding!
Cleaning
- Always pull out the plug from the socket before cleaning!
- The exterior of the kettle should be cleaned, if necessary, with a slightly damp cloth without additives.
Decalcification
- The frequency of the decalcifying operation depends on the hardness of the water and on how often the appliance is used.
- If the kettle switches off before the water boils, it probably needs to be decalcified.
- Please do not use vinegar but a commercially available decalcification agent on the basis of citric acid.
Only use the quantities stated in the instructions.

24 MONTHS WARRANTY CARD
This product is covered by a 24 month replacement or repair warranty, which is
in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (if your product
was purchased in Australia) or New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act (if your
product was purchased in New Zealand).
Upon receipt of your claim, Trent & Steele will seek to resolve your
difficulties or, if the product is defective, advise you on how to obtain a
replacement or refund.
In order to make a claim under our warranty, you must have the original proof
of purchase documentation for the product and present it when requested.
Should your product develop any defect within 24 months of purchase because of
faulty materials or workmanship, we will replace or repair it, at our
discretion, free of charge. A product presented for repair may be replaced by
a refurbished product of the same type rather than being repaired. Refurbished
parts may be used to repair the product.
Our replacement or repair warranty only applies where a defect arises as a
result of faulty material or workmanship during the warranty period. Your
warranty does not cover misuse or negligent handling (including damage caused
by failing to use the product in accordance with the instruction manual),
accidental damage, or normal wear and tear.
Your warranty does not:

cover freight or any other costs incurred in making a claim, consumable items, accessories that by their nature and limited lifespan require periodic renewal (such as filters and seals) or any consequential loss or damage; or
-
cover damage caused by:

power surges, power dips, voltage supply problems, or use of the product on incorrect voltage:
-
servicing or modification of the product other than by Trent & Steele or an authorised Trent & Steele service centre;
use of the product with other accessories, attachments, product supplies, parts or devices that do not conform to Trent & Steele specifications; or -
exposure of the product to abnormally corrosive conditions.
THE BENEFITS given to you by our warranty are In addition to other rights and
remedies under law In relation to the product.
In Australia our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the
Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a
major failure and for compensation for any other foreseeable loss or damage.
You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail
to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major
failure.
Our goods also come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the New
Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act
If your warranty claim is not accepted, we will inform you and if requested to
do so by you, repair the product provided you pay the usual charges for such
repair. You will also be responsible for all freight and other costs.
Important:
You must keep the purchase receipt with this warranty card for the warranty
to be valid. This product is covered under warranty for domestic usage only.
