Product Usage Instructions
- Remove any side steps and clean the mounting area of the XHD Armor Cladding.
- Use painter’s tape to protect the vehicle paint from scratches during installation. Place the driver-side cladding pieces on the vehicle, aligning them with the vehicle door openings and fenders.
- Mark the mounting holes on the front cladding and then remove the front cladding.
- Using a 1/8 drill, create pilot holes at the marked locations. Use a step bit to enlarge the holes to 13.5mm. In some cases, the Cowl Side Panel behind the fender may also need to be drilled out to allow fitment of the Rivet Nut.
- Insert Rivet Nut into the newly drilled holes. Use the Rivet Nut Tool and M10 Hex Head Bolt to collapse the Rivet Nuts into the vehicle panel. Use a wrench to prevent the Rivet Nut Tool from spinning while turning the M8 Hex Head Bolt. Apply sufficient force to collapse the Rivet Nut without over-tightening it.
- Mount the front cladding using the collapsed Rivet Nut and the supplied M8 hardware.
- Repeat steps 3-6 for the remaining cladding pieces on the driver’s side, working from front to back of the vehicle.

Installation Instruction
-
Remove any side steps. Clean around the mounting area of XHD Armor Cladding.
NOTICE: Painter’s tape can be used to protect vehicle paint from scratches during installation. -
Using painter’s tape, place driver-side cladding pieces on the vehicle. Align with vehicle door opening and fenders.
-
Mark mounting holes on Front Cladding. Remove Front Cladding.
-
Using a 1/8” drill, make a pilot hole at four marked locations. Using a step bit, open the hole to 13.5mm. For some locations the Cowl Side Panel behind the fender will also need to be drilled out to allow fitment of Rivet Nut.
WARNING: Thin sheet metal can cause standard drill bits to grab. This could cause injury. -
Insert Rivet Nut into newly drilled holes. Using the Rivet Nut Tool and M10 Hex Head Bolt, collapse Rivet Nuts into the vehicle panel. Use a wrench to prevent the Rivet Nut Tool from spinning while turning the M8 Hex Head Bolt. There will be slight resistance until the Rivet Nut is fully collapsed. Rivet Nut can be damaged if over-tightened.
NOTICE: If the Rivet Nut is spinning, apply more force to the Rivet Nut Tool. -
Mount Front Cladding using collapsed Rivet Nut and supplied M8 hardware.
-
Repeat steps 3-6 for the remaining cladding pieces on driver’s side while working from front to back of the vehicle.
