HYUNDAI MOBIS IBU-4E14 ECU Smart Key

Product Information

The SMART KEY ECU is a part of the START-STOP BUTTON SYSTEM. It is responsible for outputting the LF (125kHz) signal when the button of the door handle or SSB (Start-Stop Button) is pressed. The LF signal is used for engine start, door lock/unlock, and trunk release. The SMART KEY ECU operates at a voltage range of 9V to 16V and has a dark current of 5mA max. It operates at a frequency of 125kHz and uses ASK (Amplitude Shift Keying) modulation. The ECU has a coil antenna (Tx) and PCB pattern antenna (Rx) for signal reception.

  • Telegram message
The SMART KEY ECU uses a telegram message to communicate with the Fob (key). The telegram consists of different frames with specific bit sizes. The frames include Preamble, Synchronization, Wake UP ID, DATA, LF_CMD, VID, SP BIT, CRC, Rssi_Meas_Num, and more.

  • FCC/ISED Notice
This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. It must not cause harmful interference and must accept any interference received. Any changes or modifications to this device not approved by the manufacturer may void the authority to operate this equipment. This device also complies with FCC radiation exposure limits. It should not be collocated or operated with any other antenna or transmitter without authorization from the FCC. Additionally, it contains license-exempt transmitter(s)/receiver(s) that comply with Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada’s license-exempt RSS(s).

Product Usage Instructions

  1. To start the engine:
    • Press the SSB button on the SMART KEY ECU or the button on the door handle to output the LF signal.
    • The SMART KEY ECU will output the LF signal through the interior LF antenna for Fob searching.
  2. To lock/unlock the doors and release the trunk:
    • Press the button on the door handle or trunk to output the LF signal.
    • The SMART KEY ECU will output the LF signal through the exterior LF antenna for Fob searching.

Note: Ensure that the operating voltage is within the range of 9V to 16V and that the SMART KEY ECU is installed properly. Refer to the user manual for detailed installation instructions.
