- Rear Fender Cover
- Alcohol Pads
YOU WILL ALSO NEED:
Metric hex wrench set, Phillips screw driver, clean rag and warm soapy water
THESE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS CONTAIN IMPORTANT INFORMATION. ENSURE THE END USER RECEIVES THIS COPY AND IS AWARE OF ITS IMPORTANCE FOR FUTURE USE.

THIS PART REQUIRES KURYAKYN WIRING ADAPTER P/N 3268 (SOLD SEPARATELY) FOR PLUG & PLAY INSTALLATION.

IF P/N 3268 IS ALREADY INSTALLED AND ALL THREE
OUTPUTS ARE USED BY OTHER ACCESSORIES, SEPARATE PURCHASE OF KURYAKYN Y-CONNECTOR KIT (P/N 3269) IS REQUIRED.
A FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL WILL BE HELPFUL IN PERFORMING THIS INSTALLATION. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PERFORM THIS INSTALLATION IF YOU ARE NOT CONFIDENT IN YOUR ABILITY TO COMPLETE ALL OF THE STEPS IN THE PROCEDURE; CONSULT A TRAINED TECHNICIAN. IMPROPER INSTALLATION COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
STEP 1 Read and understand all steps in the instructions before starting the installation. Park the motorcycle on a hard, level surface and turn off the ignition. Let motorcycle cool.
STEP 2 Refer to PIC 2. Open the saddlebags to remove the side covers.
Unfasten, disconnect, and remove the seat. Set the seat, side covers, and all
hardware aside, they will be reused.
STEP 3 Remove the main fuse.
STEP 4 Refer to PIC 3. Locate and disconnect the left and right saddlebag
sub harness connectors.
STEP 5 Refer to PIC 4. Locate the Wiring Adapter Kit (P/N 3268, sold separately). Connect the left and right adapter to the corresponding saddlebag sub harness connectors that were disconnected in Step 4.
If P/N 3268 is already installed and all three outputs are used by other accessories, connect Kuryakyn Y-Connector (P/N 3269, sold separately) to the already installed left and right adapter.
STEP 6 Locate provided Rear Fender Cover. Connect the left light to a left wiring adapter connector and the right light to a right wiring adapter connector.
STEP 7 Reinstall main fuse and test lights for proper run/turn/brake operations. Disconnect wires after operational testing. Set them aside for the time being. Remove main fuse.
STEP 8 Refer to PIC 5. Unfasten Rear Fender A from the rear of the motorcycle and disconnect the license plate light. Remove Rear Fender A from the motorcycle. Unfasten and remove the license plate from Rear Fender A. Set parts and mounting hardware aside, they will be reused.
ENSURE PROPER ADHESION OF THIS PRODUCT. REMOVE ALL GREASE, OIL, BUGS, DIRT, AND OTHER DEBRIS (INCLUDING WAX AND POLISH) FROM THE INSTALLATION AREA. KURYAKYN WILL NOT PROVIDE WARRANTY COVERAGE ON PRODUCTS OR COMPONENTS LOST OR DAMAGED DUE TO IMPROPER INSTALLATION.
DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS INSTALLATION IN TEMPERATURES BELOW 50°F (10°C). PROPER ADHESIVE BONDING ONLY OCCURS ABOVE 50°F (10°C).
STEP 9 Refer to PIC 6. Using warm soapy water and a clean rag, remove all
dirt and debris from the OEM Rear Fender A; allow the area to dry completely.
Wipe the installation area with the included alcohol pads to remove any wax or
polish; allow the area to dry completely.
STEP 10 Locate provided Rear Fender Cover. Use your fingernail to rub the adhesive backing; this will activate the adhesive. Remove and discard the backing.
STEP 11 Refer to PIC 6 and 7. Feed the wires of the cover through the two
larger holes of the Rear Fender A, located under the hood near the license
plate light.
STEP 12 Refer to PIC 7 and 8. Align and place the provided cover over the OEM Rear Fender A. Be sure to pull the wiring all the way through. Press the cover into place for one minute; full bonding will occur after 24 hours.
STEP 13 Refer to PIC 9. Locate license plate and hardware that was removed in Step 8. Fasten the license plate to the cover and Rear Fender A assembly. Fully tighten all hardware.
STEP 14 Refer to PIC 10 and 11. Feed the wires of the cover assembly through the small opening in the frame, located between the turn signals.
STEP 15 Route the cover’s light wires up through the back side of the saddlebag along the inside of the rear fender, and up to the under seat area to connect it to the adapter. Do not secure the wires to anything yet.
Note: Use a firm straight wire, straightened out wire coat hanger, or some other sturdy tool. Route it through an opening from under the seat area out towards the rear of the bike. Tape the white plug and some of the wire from the accent to it and carefully pull it up to the under seat area.
STEP 16 Refer to PIC 12. Connect the wires of the cover’s lights to their corresponding wire adapters.
STEP 17 Reinstall main fuse and test lights for proper run/turn/brake operations.
STEP 18 Secure the wires in a safe place. Be sure to fasten the wires where they won’t pinch, pull, or be damaged.
STEP 19 Refer to PIC 13. Reinstall the new cover and Rear Fender A assembly using mounting hardware that was removed in Step 8.
STEP 20 Reinstall the side covers and seat, using the hardware that was removed in Step 2.
IT IS THE INSTALLER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT ALL OF THE FASTENERS (INCLUDING PRE-ASSEMBLED) ARE TIGHTENED BEFORE OPERATION OF THE MOTORCYCLE. KURYAKYN WILL NOT PROVIDE WARRANTY COVERAGE ON PRODUCTS OR COMPONENTS LOST DUE TO IMPROPER INSTALLATION OR LACK OF MAINTENANCE. PERIODIC INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE ARE REQUIRED ON ALL FASTENERS.
LIMITED WARRANTY
Kuryakyn warrants that any Kuryakyn products sold hereunder, shall be free of
defects in materials & workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date
of purchase by the consumer excepting the following provisions:
- Kuryakyn shall have no obligation in the event the customer is unable to provide a receipt showing the date the customer purchased the product(s).
- The product must be properly installed, maintained & operated under normal conditions.
- Kuryakyn shall not be liable for any consequential & incidental damages, including labor & paint, resulting from failure of a Kuryakyn product, failure to deliver, delay in delivery, delivery in nonconforming condition, or for any breach of contract or duty between Kuryakyn & a customer.
- Kuryakyn products are often intended for use in specific applications. Kuryakyn makes no warranty if a Kuryakyn product is used in applications other than intended.
- Kuryakyn electrical products are warranted for one (1) year from the date of purchase by the consumer. L.E.D.’s contained in components of Kuryakyn products will be warranted for defects in materials & workmanship for 3 years from the date of purchase whereas all other components shall be warranted for one (1) year.
- All warranty claims must be directed to the place of purchase. Merchandise sold through internet auction sites or any other unauthorized reseller shall not carry a Kuryakyn warranty. If unsure, please contact the place of purchase to verify they are an authorized Kuryakyn reseller.
RETURN POLICY
Merchandise determined to be defective may be returned up to one year from the date of purchase. Returns must be processed through original seller. Returned merchandise for any other reason other than warranty claims must be in like new condition & subject to a 20% restocking fee. All returns are subject to inspection for determination of full or partial credit. Any returned part that shows evidence of being used or installed contrary to manufacturer’s instructions, &/or subjected to improper handling, packaging or return shipping by the customer, will not be eligible for exchange, refund or warranty consideration. All returned electrical items will be inspected & tested. If electrical item is deemed functional, no credit will be issued & item will be returned. All sales are final on discontinued or closeout merchandise.
