ZURN 375AST Reduced Pressure Principle Assembly

Product Information

The Model 375AST is a Reduced Pressure Principle Assembly designed for installation on potable water lines. It provides protection against both backsiphonage and backpressure of contaminated water into the potable water supply. This assembly is ideal for use where lead-free valves are required. It is compliant with NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 standards and has been tested by Hydraulic Research at the University of Southern California. The main valve body and access covers are made of 304L stainless steel, and the coatings are FDA approved electrostatic epoxy. The internals of the assembly are made of stainless steel, 300 series NORYLTM, and the fasteners & springs are made of stainless steel, 300 series. The seal rings are made of EPDM (FDA approved), and the O-rings are made of Buna Nitrile (FDA approved). The assembly is available insizes 2 1/2, 3, 4, 6, 8, and 10. It has a maximum working water pressure of 175 PSI and a maximum working water temperature. The hydrostatic test pressure is 350 PSI. The end connections are grooved for steel pipe according to AWWA C606 standards.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Ensure that the potable water line where the Model 375AST will be installed is clean and free from any contaminants.
  2. Select the appropriate size of the assembly based on the pipe diameter of the potable water line.
  3. Install the assembly in-line with the potable water line, following the manufacturer’s instructions for proper alignment and orientation.
  4. Securely connect the assembly to the potable water line using compatible fittings or couplings.
  5. If additional options are required, such as flanged end NRS gate valves or epoxy coated wye type strainer, select the appropriate suffixes and install them according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  6. Once the assembly is installed, check for any leaks or loose connections. Tighten any fittings if necessary.
  7. Periodically inspect the assembly for any signs of damage or wear. Replace any damaged or worn components as needed.
  8. If the assembly is equipped with a pressure monitor, flow meter option, or other accessories, follow the manufacturer’s instructions for their installation and operation.
  9. Keep the area around the assembly clear and accessible for maintenance and repair purposes.

Application
Designed for installation on potable water lines to protect against both backsiphonage and backpressure of contami-nated water into the potable water supply. The Model 375AST provides protection where a potential health hazard exists. Ideal for use where lead-free* valves are required.
