After inserting a new sanding belt, the sanding belt will not run perfectly straight. Check the straight run by running the belt sander at low speed in the air. Use the adjustment wheel of the sanding belt guide to adjust the straight run so that the sanding belt does not run over the open side. If the abrasive belt runs against the closed side, the running noise changes audibly. In this case, adjust in the opposite direction to prevent increased wear of the abrasive belt.

  • Only use the unit for dry grinding. Do not work on wet materials or damp surfaces. The grinder is not suitable for wet grinding work. Do not use the appliance for any other purpose.
  • Do not use abrasives with precision-moulded ceramic grain. There is a risk of electric shock.
  • Always wear safety goggles and a dust mask when sanding. Wear suitable clothing. Take off jewellery and tie up long hair before working. Wear ear protection.
  • Use the dust collection bag when sanding non-metallic materials, especially when working on materials that produce dust that is hazardous to health.
  • Do not use the dust collection bag when machining metallic workpie- ces. Using the dust collection bag when machining metal creates a fire hazard that can damage the tool and cause serious injury.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation when machining plastics, paints, varnishes, etc. Material containing asbestos must not be machined. Harmful/toxic dusts are produced when sanding e.g. lead-containing paints, some types of wood and metals. Dust and chips produced can be hazardous to health, flammable or explosive. Take appropriate protective measures.
  • Empty the dust collection bag regularly. Dust from certain substances and coatings, e.g. polyurethanes or linseed oil, tend to self-ignite. Therefore, always empty the dust collection bag before storing the grinder. Also follow the instructions of the coating manufacturer.

  • Have your power tool repaired only by qualified personnel and only with original spare parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained. Safety instructions for rechargeable batteries and battery chargers WARNING: Lithium-ion batteries pose a fire, burn and explosion hazard if used, stored or charged improperly. Use the charger correctly
  • Follow the instructions described in the appropriate section of this manual regarding the proper use of the battery charger before charging the battery.
  • Do not use the charger to charge other batteries. Keep the battery charger clean; foreign objects and dirt may cause a short circuit and block the ventilation holes. Failure to follow these instructions may result in overheating or fire.
  • Allow batteries to cool for 15 minutes after charging or intensive use. Failure to follow these instructions may result in overheating or fire.
  • Only charge the batteries in chargers recommended by the manufacturer. A charger designed for a specific type of battery may pose a fire hazard if used with other batteries.

Keep the unused battery away from paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects that could cause bridging of the contacts. A short circuit between the battery contacts may result in burns or fire.
  • Liquid may leak from the battery if used incorrectly. Avoid contact with it. In case of accidental contact, rinse with water. If the liquid gets into your eyes, seek additional medical attention. Leaking battery fluid may cause skin irritation or burns.
