Product Usage Instructions

Installation of Various Parts

  • Photography receiver: Install the photography receiver onto the microscope body.
  • Photography eyepiece: Insert the photography eyepiece into the tee eyepiece holder.
  • Eyecup: Attach the eyecup to the eyepiece for comfortable viewing.
  • Eyepiece: Install the eyepiece onto the microscope body.
  • Microscope body: Assemble the various components onto the microscope body.
  • Tablet: Place the tablet on the tablet clamp for digital imaging.
  • Glass work board: Lift the glass work board from the recess and place it on the bracket for specimen observation.
  • Bracket: Attach the bracket to provide stability during use.

Matters need attention

Operation

  1. The components should not be directly exposed to the sun, and should be placed in a dry and clean environment to avoid high temperature and severe vibration.
  2. The microscope is a precision instrument. It should be handled with care and avoid impact and collision during transportation.
  3. In order not to affect the clarity of the image, avoid dirt or fingerprints on the surface of the lens.
  4. Need to hold the focusing wheel with both hands, rotate and adjust in the same direction, otherwise it will malfunction.

Care and Maintenance

  1. All lenses should be kept clean. If there is fine dust, it can be blown off with a balloon or gently wiped off with cotton yarn; if there are oil stains and fingerprints, it can be wiped off lightly with cotton yarn dipped in a small amount of ethanol and ether mixture at a ratio of 3:7.
  2. Do not use organic solvents to wipe the remaining surfaces of the microscope, especially the surface of plastic products, and neutral detergent should be used for cleaning.
  3. Do not disassemble or assemble the microscope by yourself, so as not to affect the performance of the microscope.
  4. When the microscope is not in use, it should be covered with a dust cover so that it does not come into contact with dust and stored in a place isolated from moisture to avoid rust or mold.
  5. In order to maintain the performance of the microscope, it is recommended to conduct regular inspections (for details, please contact the nearest agent).

Operation

Use of glass work board

  1. You can lift the work board directly from the recess with your fingertips(Figure 1).

Adjustment of the tightness of the focusing mechanism

  1. To adjust the tightness of the focusing mechanism, you can hold one of the handwheels with your hand and rotate the other handwheel. The tightness depends on the direction of rotation of the handwheel; tighten it clockwise and loosen it counterclockwise (see Figure 2).
  2. Adjusting the tightness of the focusing mechanism properly can prevent the microscope from sliding down with the bracket during the observation of the microscope body, and also make Focusing more comfortable.

Specimen placement

  1. Place the specimen in the middle of the glass work plate, and if necessary, press the specimen with a press sheet.
  2. Use the illuminator to illuminate the specimen.

Diopter adjustment and focus

  1. Rotate the zoom handwheel to the maximum magnification.
  2. Rotate the diopter adjustment ring to the 0 mark position.
  3. Observe through the eyepiece on the right. If the image is not clear, turn the focusing handwheel to make the specimen image clear.
  4. Rotate the zoom handwheel to the minimum magnification.
  5. Observe through the eyepiece on the right, if the image is not clear, rotate the right diopter adjustment ring ② to make the specimen clear (Figure 3)
  6. Then rotate the zoom handwheel to the maximum magnification. Observe through the eyepiece on the right, if the image is not clear, repeat the above 3 to 5 steps, which can make the diopter adjustment more precise.
  7. Rotate the zoom handwheel to the minimum magnification. Observe through the left eyepiece, if the image is not clear, rotate the left diopter adjustment ring ① to make the imageClear (Figure 3).

Adjustment of interpupillary distance
(8) Hold the left and right prism boxes with your hands, and turn the left and right prism boxes in the direction shown by the arrows in (Figure 4) until the binocular observation is comfortable.

Use of eyepiece cover

  1. For people who do not wear glasses, hold the diopter adjustment ring with your hands so that it does not rotate. By rotating the eyepiece, the eyepiece cover can fit the observer’s eye better.
  2. For people who wear glasses, the eyepiece cover can be removed for observation.

Installing and removing the reticle

  1. Unscrew the pressure ring from the eyepiece (as shown in the figure).
  2. Clean the reticle①. Place the engraved side of the reticle facing down and fit it into the press ring (Figure 5).
  3. Screw the pressure ring ② with the reticle into the eyepiece until it is tightened.
  4. To remove the reticle, unscrew the pressing ring ③ from the eyepiece,Take out the reticle, wrap it in clean paper, and store it.

Installation of luminaire
Insert the boss of the illuminator assembly into the ring LED bracket facing the objective lens, and then tighten the screws (as shown in Figure 6).

Choose light path

  1. Use the lever to move inward and outward to switch between binocular observation and photography. Move the lever outwards for photography and video (When selecting photography and recording, visual inspection can also be carried out at the same time); conversely, move the lever inwards for binocular observation. No matter which light path is selected, the lever must be moved to the end (Figure 7).

Assemble photographic tube and photographic eyepiece

  1. Unscrew the dust cover and screw in the camera connector department.
  2. Insert the photographic eyepiece into the tee eyepiece holder.
  3. Put the camera tube on the tee eyepiece holder; then tighten the locking screw (Figure 8).

Adjusting the brightness of the transmitted illumination of the base

  1. Rotate the brightness adjustment knob as shown by the icon ① on the base Button, turn clockwise, the brightness will increase; otherwise, the brightness will decrease (Figure 9)

  • This working distance is fixed and does not change with the change of magnification.
  • After using the auxiliary objective lens, total magnification = objective lens magnification × eyepiece magnification × auxiliary objective lens magnificationSVBONY-SM402-Professional-Trinocular-Stereo-Zoom-Microscope-FIG-1 \(12\)
  • The magnification of the film on the photographing device = the magnification of the objective lens (× the magnification of the auxiliary objective lens) × the magnification of the photographic eyepiece.
  • The magnification of the film on the camera device = the magnification of the objective lens (× the magnification of the auxiliary objective lens) × the intermediate magnification of the C-type camera tube.

Fault handling

If the performance of the microscope cannot be fully utilized due to unfamiliar use, the following table can provide you with some solutions.

General troubleshooting

Problem Cause Solution
1.Double images do not overlap Incorrect interpupillary distance adjustment

Correct interpupillary distance
Incorrect diopter adjustment| Re-adjust the diopter
The left and right eyepieces have different magnifications| Install the same eyepiece
2.There is dirt in the field of view| There is dirt on the specimen| Clean specimen
Dirt on the surface of the eyepiece| Clean the eyepiece
3.Unclear image| There is dirt on the surface of the objective lens| Clean the objective lens
4.Image is not clear when zooming| Incorrect diopter adjustment| Re-adjust the diopter

5.Focusing hand wheel is not flexible| The focus handwheel is locked too tightly| Loosen appropriately
6.During the observation process, the microscope body descends by

itself, making the image unclear

| ****

Focusing hand wheel is too loose

| After the focusing wheel is unscrewed, there are two spacers, which need to be close to the body, and then rotate the focusing wheel to tighten
7.There are cuts in the field of view

of the observation eyepiece or photographic camera

| ****

The lever has not moved in place

| ****

Move the lever into place

8.When adjusting the focus, the image

on the video monitor is not clear

| Improper adjustment of camera focus| Use the focus ring on the camera tube to

re-adjust the focus depth of the camera

9.Eyes tired easily| The diopter is not adjusted correctly| Correctly adjust the diopter
