Product Usage Instructions
Installation
-
Carefully pull house wires out of the junction box so that they are easily accessible during installation.
-
Position the mounting bracket (A) so that the longest end of the threaded pipe attached to the mounting bracket (A) is pointing down towards the floor.
-
Align the small holes in the mounting bracket (A) with the holes in the junction box.
-
Thread each junction box screw (B) into the appropriate hole in the mounting bracket (A) and into the hole in the junction box.
Tighten the junction box screws (B) to secure the mounting bracket (A) to the junction box. CAUTION: Make sure the house wires are pulled completely through the hole in the mounting bracket. DO NOT pinch wires between the mounting bracket and ceiling. -
IMPORTANT: The length of the cord must be adjusted before the fixture is installed. If the canopy (D) is not already installed on the cord, follow the next step.
-
Strip 3/4 of insulation from the ends of fixture wires.
-
Carefully push the fixture wires up through the end of the threaded pipe on the mounting strap (A). Pull the fixture wires out of the top of the threaded pipe.
-
Slightly loosen the ground screw on the mounting bracket (A), but do not completely remove it. Wrap the ground wire from the junction box around the ground screw, leaving enough ground wire to attach to the fixture ground wire. Twist the end of the fixture ground wire and the end of the house ground wire together. Twist the wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires. Completely tighten the wire nut (C). Reference the chart below for correct wire connections.
-
Twist the end of the house lead wire (black) and the end of the fixture lead wire together. Twist the wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires. Completely tighten the wire nut (C). Twist the end of the house neutral wire (white) and the end of the fixture neutral wire together. Twist the wire nut (C) onto the ends of the wires.
Completely tighten the wire nut (C). Reference the chart to the right for correct wire connections. -
Wrap electrical tape (not included) around the wire nuts (C) and wires. Ensure that the wires are securely fastened into the wire nuts.
-
Carefully push all wires and wire nuts into the junction box.
