systemair IHF15 Terrace Heaters

Product Information

The product is an infrared heater available in two types: IHW and IHF. The IHW type has a wide heat distribution, while the IHF type has directed heat distribution. Both types have an IP44 rating, indicating their resistance to water splashes.

The IHW type is available in three models: IHW10 (1000W), IHW15 (1500W), and IHW20 (2000W). The IHF type is also available in three models: IHF10 (1000W), IHF15 (1500W), and IHF20 (2000W). Both types operate at a voltage of 230V~ and have corresponding amperages. The length of the heaters varies depending on the model.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Position the heaters in a way that they heat from at least two directions for even heating.
  2. Ensure a minimum mounting distance of 200mm from flammable materials.
  3. For installation, use the provided wall bracket or ceiling bracket depending on your preference.
  4. If the lamp needs to be replaced, follow these steps:
    • Switch off the power supply.
    • Remove the front cover by loosening the screws.
    • Loosen the connections on the terminal block.
    • Remove the lamp from its supports.
    • Check that the replacement lamp has the correct power and voltage.
    • Install the new lamp and tighten all connections.
  5. Refer to separate manuals for detailed instructions on usingcontrols and timer control with a contactor.

Operating and installation instructions

General recommendations

Read these instructions carefully first to install and use the unit. Keep this manual for future use. The product can only be used in base to the operating and installation instructions. The warranty is valid only if the product it is used as indicated and following the instructions instructions.

Applications

The powerful infrared radiant panel with IH halogen lamp with high filament temperature is 2200 °C the perfect choice for outdoor environments exposed with particular design needs. AND available in two different versions. The IHW ensures pleasant warmth in the area occupied at close range with one widespread heat distribution. The IHF does instead it stands out for a distribution of concentrated heat and is suitable for taller installations.
Protection class: IP44.

Positioning

Heaters must be placed in to cover the area to be heated, see Fig. 1. Normal mounting height is 2-3 meters from the ground/floor. According to rule of thumb for infrared heaters, a value of 600-800 W/m² increases the perceived temperature of approximately 10 °C. Self the area to be heated is protected, the power can be reduced. If the area has only a canopy, at least 800 W/m² must be installed. If the area it has three walls, 600 W/m² is sufficient. In the case of closed areas, it is necessary to calculate the power required. Optimal comfort occurs when heat is distributed by at least two directions. IHW ensures extensive heat distribution (60°); height of recommended installation 1.8 – 2.5 m. IHF ensures oriented heat distribution (40°); recommended installation height 2.3 – 3.5 m.

Assembly

The IH is mounted horizontally on the wall with the supplied bracket. You can orient the heater up to 45°. The radiant panel can also be mounted, for example, on a parasol or a column. In this case a suitable U-hook must be used (not included), together with the supplied bracket. For ceiling mounting, use bracket a IHE ceiling (accessory). For other alternatives for assembly, refer to the accessories. For minimum distances, see the figure in introduction pages.

  1. Attach the bracket to the wall with at least 2 screws. If you use locks, it is An additional screw is required to secure it bracket. See the introduction pages.
  2. Remove the screws attached to the part rear of the unit upon delivery.
  3. Hook the unit onto the bracket.
  4. Lock in place with screws.

Connection

The IH is equipped with a 0.9 meter cable with plug for connecting to a socket with grounding. The connection cable does not must rest against unity, from the moment that the surface becomes hot or can be hit by thermal radiation. If you need to replace the cable, contact an electrician.

Please note that due to high temperatures in the unit, you need to use a cable of the H05 RN-F 3G1 mm² type or similar. Since the halogen lamp has a high starting current, the wall socket must be protected by a slow-blow fuse combustion. If in doubt, contact a electrician.

First start-up

When the unit is used for the first time time or after a long period of inactivity, smoke or light may develop odor due to dust or dirt accumulated on the element. This phenomenon it is absolutely normal and disappears afterwards short time.

Replacing the lamp

The infrared lamp is made with the highest quality and, if it doesn’t come subjected to mechanical stresses below form of vibrations and impacts, will have a long service life. The service life depends on the ambient temperature and the how to install the unit. When the unit is installed freely and outdoors, the temperature will be low and the duration of lamp can be approximately 3000 hours. The lamp must be replaced by a installer or other qualified person.

  1. Disconnect the power supply.
  2. Wait until the unit is cool.
  3. Remove the covers from both ends (four screws).
  4. Pull the grill to one side.
  5. Remove both ends of the reflector (two screws).
  6. Loosen the connections on the terminal block.
  7. Remove the lamp from its supports.
  8. Check that the replacement lamp has the correct power and voltage.
  9. Fit the new lamp. He remembers do not touch the lamp with bare hands: wear gloves or similar.
  10. The protective tube must be refitted on the cables, so that they do not come damaged when the grill is mounted.
  11. Reassemble the unit. See the introduction pages.

Maintenance

Disconnect electrical power to the unit during all assistance interventions, repair and maintenance. Wait until until the unit is cold. Given the absence of moving components, the unit has requirementsminimum maintenance, however it must be kept clean and free from dirt and dust.

If the reflector is not clean, the radiation heat produced by the unit will decrease e the unit will become hotter. Large quantities of dirt can cause overheating of the unit. The surface of the reflector is sensitive and must be cleaned carefully. If the reflector is dirty, clean it or have it replaced a specialized technician.

Packaging

Packaging materials are chosen with consideration into consideration the environment and therefore they are recyclable.

Disposal of the product at the end of the operating life

This product may contain substances necessary for its functionality but potentially dangerous for the environment. The product must not be disposed of with i general household waste but delivered to a designated collection point for recycling environmental. Contact the local authorities for further details on the collection point nearest designated.
