Product Information

The transmitter stations described in the user manual are part of the compact plug-in series. They come in different models with varying power ratings:

  • TX 10KPS-C
  • TX 25KPS-C
  • TX 12K5PS-C
  • TX 30KPS-C
  • TX 20KPS-C
  • TX 35KPS-C

These transmitter stations feature several hardware and user-friendly features:

  • HARDWARE FEATURES: The design focuses on ultimate redundancy and is incorporated in all transmitter components, including power supply, exciters, power modules, and cooling fans. Each module features a switching mode power supply to control and stabilize power supply voltage. It is controlled by a microprocessor board connected to other microprocessor boards via an RS485 bus. Each amplifier module provides Automatic Power Control for output power.
  • POWER & QUALITY: The modular concept of these transmitters allows for configurations in a broad range of power ratings. The high power levels achieved are guaranteed by a new design concept adopted for the splitter and combiner sections, ensuring RF efficiency and output power stability through automatic gain control.
  • USER-FRIENDLY FEATURES: The transmitter stations have a wide LCD panel for easy and intuitive setup and monitoring of all operating parameters. They also include an emergency button that instantly disconnects power supply to all contactors and deactivates all power parts (except the exciters) when pressed.
  • EASE OF MAINTENANCE: These transmitters offer extraordinary ease of maintenance. Hot-Pluggable Technology allows for the removal of individual modules without powering off the transmitter.

In addition, the transmitter stations come with a powerful, complete telemetry system that supports remote alarming and monitoring of all parameters from a PC. This system can be connected to Telink RVR and supports various communication protocols such as RS232, GSM modem connectivity, ANTLAN, BURK, LAN, and SNMP.

Product Usage Instructions

To use the transmitter stations, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure that the power supply carriage is properly connected.
  2. Connect the RF, control system, power supply, and data exchange connectors.
  3. If desired, configure the transmitter for a different frequency range using the appropriate option code (e.g., /F for other frequency range).
  4. If applicable to your model (TXKPS Series), you can add an additional parallel power supply option using the /APS option code.
  5. If you want to utilize the telemetry system, make sure to connect it to the transmitter using the appropriate telemetry transmitters plug-in series option code (e.g., /TLM-PLUGIN).
  6. Once all connections are made and options are configured, power on the transmitter.
  7. Use the wide LCD panel to set up and monitor all operating parameters as needed. Refer to the user manual for specific instructions on parameter adjustments.
  8. In case of emergency or when required, press the emergency button to immediately disconnect power supply to all contactors and deactivate all power parts (except the exciters).
  9. If maintenance is required, utilize the hot-pluggable technology to remove individual modules without powering off the transmitter.

Note: If any issues or questions arise during usage, refer to the user manual for further troubleshooting and support.

Features

HARDWARE FEATURES: design focus is on ultimate redundancy and is incorporated in all transmitter components: power supply, exciters, power modules and cooling fans. Each module features switching mode power supply to control and stabilize power supply voltage from the power supply section and is controlled by a microprocessor board connected to the other microprocessor boards in the machine via RS485 bus. Each amplifier module provides Automatic Power Control for output power.

POWER & QUALITY: uncompromised modular concept allows for configurations in a broad range of power ratings from 2kW up to 35 kW using top-range RVR exciters. The high power levels achieved by these transmitters are guaranteed by a new design concept adopted for the splitter and combiner sections that ensures the utmost RF efficiency and output power stability thanks to automatic gain control.

RELIABILITY & REDUNDANCY (business continuity): the high number of self- contained, independent power modules ensures the utmost business continuity. If one or more power modules should fail, the amplifier will automatically switch to limited-power operation and ensure uninterrupted transmission. In addition, the control unit – including the basic version – incorporates an integrated system for automatic and manual switching between two exciters.

In the 5-kW configuration, the amplifier can be equipped with a dual power supply/rectifier module option. The two modules use the active redundancy approach. During regular operation, each module provides 60% of the power required for machine operation. If one module is unavailable or fails, the other module provides 100% of required power. Dual power supply is standard in the 10- kW configuration. In the event one of the modules fails, the transmitter switches to limited-power operation and uninterrupted operation at 60% of rated power is ensured. The amplifier can operate when the control unit is unavailable. The control unit can be temporarily replaced with an electro- mechanical interface.

USER-FRIENDLY FEATURES: a wide LCD panel enables easy, intuitive set-up and monitoring of all machine operating parameters. The device also features an emergency button. When pressed, it immediately disconnects power supply to all contactors and all power parts except the exciters are instantly deactivated.

EASE OF MAINTENANCE: transmitter offers extraordinary ease of maintenance. Hot-Pluggable Technology makes it possible to remove individual modules with no need to power off the transmitter.

The transmitter keeps operating in the limited-power mode without the module. This procedure is fully safe. Control system, RF, power supply and data exchange connectors are especially designed to rule out possible damage to module or amplifier.

REMOTE CONTROL: the device comes with a powerful, complete telemetry system. RS232 port and GSM modem connectivity enables remote alarming and monitoring of all parameters from a PC. In addition, when connected to Telink RVR, the telemetry system supports the ANTLAN, BURK, LAN and SNMP communication protocols.
