Precautions on the use of headphones
Before using the headphones, be sure to read the attached document Precautions on the use of headphones.
Features
The headphone has a unique folding construction that makes it easy to fold and carry.
Inserting the battery
Make sure the headphone power is off.
- Open the battery compartment cover on the R side housing.
- Insert the R03/AAA battery from the q side.
Battery lifespan
A standard alkaline battery lasts for approximately 40 hours of listening time. Battery lifespan differs depending on how the headphones are used.
NOTE: For instructions on handling a dry battery, see Precautions on the use of headphones in the documentation supplied with the headphones.
Preparations
- Connect the straight plug (black) of the connecting cable to the jack on the L side housing of the headphones. You can choose from two types of connecting cable: 0.7 m and 1.5 m.
- The other plug on the connecting cable connects to the playback device.
- Be sure to wear the headphones correctly, with the R side on the right ear and L side on the left ear. The slider can be adjusted to 11 levels. Adjust to your preferred position.
NOTE: Close the battery compartment cover. Be sure to close firmly by pressing until the cover clicks into place.
Battery replacement timing
The indicator flashes or turns off when the battery has worn down. Replace the old battery with a new one.
Using the headphones – Listening to audio
First, turn the volume of the audio device down.
- Turn on the power of the audio device and start playback.
- Set the switch to ON. The noise cancellation function turns on and the indicator lights blue.
Storing in the carrying case
- Remove the connecting cable and plug from these headphones.
- Fold the headphones and place them in the carrying case.
- Close the carrying case and shut the fastener.
NOTE: Insert the headphones into the space provided in the carrying case. Forcing the headphones into the case may cause damage to the headphones.
About the RESTORER function
Compressed audio formats such as MP3, WMA (Windows Media Audio),and MPEG-4 AAC reduce the amount of data by eliminating signal components that are hard for the human ear to hear. The RESTORER function generates these signals that are eliminated upon compression, restoring the sound to a similar state as the original uncompressed sound.
Operations:
- Set the switch to RESTORER. The noise cancellation function and the RESTORER function turn on, and the RESTORER indicator lights white.
About using on planes
To use these headphones to listen to the on-board music broadcast in devices that are equipped with a digital amplifier.

Precautions on the use of headphones
Before using the headphones, be sure to read the attached document “Precautions on the use of headphones”.
NOTE
- To prevent injury, be careful not to trap your fingers between the housing and hanger.
- Do not pull the slider with excessive force.
Doing so may damage the slider.

Inserting the battery

- Open the battery compartment cover on the R side housing.
- Insert the R03/AAA battery from the side.
- Close the battery compartment cover.
Be sure to close firmly by pressing until the cover clicks into place.

NOTE
- If the indicator does not light or flashes when the power is turned on, the battery is worn. Replace it with a new battery.
- Be sure to turn the power off after use.
- You may not be able to use with certain portable devices or other devices that are equipped with a digital amplifier.
- When the headphone power is off, the headphones can be used as standard headphones. However, in this case the noise cancelling function does not operate.
- The noise cancelling function can be used independently by not connecting the connecting cable to the headphones.
About the RESTORER function

About using on planes
To use these headphones to listen to the on-board music broadcast in the
aircraft cabin, use the conversion plug included.
NOTE
- The conversion plug may not be suitable for certain aircraft.
- Do not use these headphones when use of electronic devices is prohibited on board, or when the use of personal headphones to listen to the on-board music service is prohibited.
Storing in the carrying case
- Remove the connecting cable and plug from these headphones.
- Fold the headphones and place them in the carrying case.
- Close the carrying case and shut the fastener.
NOTE
Insert the headphones into the space provided in the carrying case.
Forcing the headphones into the case may cause damage to the headphones.
Troubleshooting
- Is the set being operated as described in the owner’s manual?
If the headphones do not operate properly, check the items listed in the table below. Should the problem persist, there may be a malfunction. In this case, contact the store where you purchased these headphones.

Safety precautions

To prevent hearing damage, avoid using your headphones at such a high volume that it irritates your ears.

Before turning on the power of a connected device, turn the volume all the way down. A sudden burst of loud sound could be harmful to your ears and cause hearing loss.

Do not use headphones while driving a bicycle, motorcycle or automobile. Doing so could lead to an accident.

In the interest of safety, keep the volume of your headphones at a level at which surrounding sounds can still be heard.

Do not put in water or get wet.

Do not place heavy objects on, heat, or pull on the headphones.
Doing so may damage or deform them. -
Store the ear pieces out of the reach of children to prevent small children from accidentally swallowing them.

Do not remove any screws, disassemble, or rework the headphones.
Ask your place of purchase for internal checkups, adjustments, and repairs of the headphones.
Caution on handling
- Be sure to hold the plug when unplugging the cable.
- Do not place undue stress on the cable, as this can result in wire disconnection or damage. Observe the following for correct usage.
- Do not pull on the cable unduly.
- Do not pull too hard on the cord when attaching it to or removing it from the included clip.
- Do not fold the cable.
- Do not allow a portable device to hang from the headphones.
- Do not wrap the cable around the portable device.
- If you allow a portable device to hang from the headphones, it may become disconnected and fall. Take care as DENON does not guarantee portable devices.
- Metal parts will come in contact with your skin. People with allergies to metal should not use these headphones. If you feel that the headphones irritate your skin, stop using them and contact a physician or the sales outlet for advice.
- Do not use benzene, thinners, or other organic solvents or insecticides on the main unit since they may cause a change in quality or color.
- Sound leaks out from the headphones when the volume is too high, which may annoy people around you. Please be considerate and lower the volume.
Caution on the battery
- Be sure to turn this headphone’s power switch off when replacing the battery.
- Use a R03/AAA alkaline battery in this headphone. Using other batteries may result in a shorter operating time.
- The supplied battery is only for verifying operation.
- Insert the battery in the proper direction, following the q and w marks in the battery compartment.
- To prevent damage or leakage of battery fluid:
- Do not attempt to charge dry battery.
- Do not short-circuit, disassemble, heat or dispose of battery in a fire.
- If the battery fluid leaks, carefully wipe the fluid off the inside of the battery compartment and insert new battery.
- Remove the battery from this headphone if it will not be used for a long time.
- Used battery in accordance with local regulations on battery disposal.
- Do not keep the battery near a fire source, in a place exposed to direct sunlight, inside a car in the hot sun, or in places with extremely high temperatures, such as near a heater.
