OPERATING PRINCIPLE

  • Before mounting the equipment, read the user guide carefully.
  • Do not plug the air duct of the installed device with materials that accumulate dust like blinds, curtains, etc. as this will prevent the air from circulating properly in the room.
  • The device has four possible operating modes:
    • Natural ventilation: the louvres are open, the fan is not running.
    • Supply only: the ventilation unit brings outdoor air into the room.
    • Exhaust only: the device exhausts air or brings it in at the selected speed.
    • Heat recovery ventilation: the device runs in reversible mode with heat and humidity recovery
  • In heat recovery ventilation mode: the device operates in two, 70-second cycles.
  • Cycle I. Warm polluted air is exhausted from the room and, passing through the ceramic exchanger, gradually heats and humidifies it, returning up to 90% of the heat. After 70 seconds, when the ceramic heat exchanger is hot, the device switches to air supply mode.
  • Cycle II. The outdoor air flows through the ceramic heat exchanger, becomes moist and reaches room temperature thanks to the heat accumulated in the heat exchanger. After 70 seconds, when the heat exchanger has cooled down, the device switches back to exhaust mode and the cycle starts again.
  • STEP 1 : A round hole needs to be drilled in the wall to fit the Nano Air 50. Use the cardboard template supplied to mark the position relative to the duct hole and cable outlet.
  • STEP 2: Insert the air intake duct in the wall. Use the mounting shims included in the delivery package for easier installation. From the outside of the wall, the air duct must protrude for a distance A, which is necessary when installing an external ventilation hood. The ventilation cover manual states distance A.
  • Insert the air duct in the wall using the polystyrene shims supplied and fix it with mounting foam.
  • The telescopic end of the air duct is used to install the outdoor ventilation hood.
  • Install the air duct with at least 3 mm slope on the outdoor wall side.
  • Distance A is indicated in the outdoor rainhood installation instructions. The length of the air duct can be modified before and after it is fixed in the wall.
  • In the first case, calculate the length required before mounting it and in the second case, make sure there is enough access to cut the air conduct to length after it is installed.
  • STEP 3
    1. Remove the four fixing screws to remove the control board mounting plate.
    2. Then carefully disassemble the mounting plate from its frame and push it aside to allow access to the control board by disconnecting the two connectors.
    3. Make sure you do not damage the connection cables between the control board and the mounting plate.
    4. Refit the mounting plate in the reverse order. Carefully install the cables.aldes-Nano-Air-50-Residential-Heat-Recovery-Unit-fig-8
  • STEP 4
    1. Using the cardboard template supplied, mark the fan fixing holes as indicated in the figure below.
    2. Drill the holes and insert the wall plugs.
    3. Install the base frame on the wall whilst fitting an insulating seal underneath it and fix the unit with self-tapping screws from the assembly kit.aldes-Nano-Air-50-Residential-Heat-Recovery-Unit-fig-9
  • STEP 5
    1. Install the airflow rectifier, filter, ceramic recuperation unit, second filter and second airflow rectifier in the correct order.
    2. Lastly, fit the fan unit to the base frame.aldes-Nano-Air-50-Residential-Heat-Recovery-Unit-fig-10

CONNECTION TO THE POWER SUPPLY

  • Disconnect the power supply before any operation on the device.
  • The unit must be connected to the mains by a qualified installer who has read this manual carefully.
  • The unit’s electrical data are inscribed on the device’s rating plate.
  • The device may not be modified, which would void its guarantee.
  • The Nano Air 50 is intended to be connected to the single-phase 230 V mains.
  • To facilitate wiring, the Nano Air 50 is supplied with a pre-wired power lead and plug. Connect the Nano Air 50 to the mains via the magnetic trip automatic circuit breaker incorporated into the fixed wiring system.
  • The power supply cable is connected to the upper terminal block.aldes-Nano-Air-50-Residential-Heat-Recovery-Unit-fig-11

“Ventilation” mode setting
When several Nano Air are connected together (see next page), the position of the jumpers on the electronic board determine each one’s fixed ventilation mode.

Series connection of several Nano Air 50

  • The Nano Air need to be connected in series for synchronised control from the first Nano Air and its remote control. To connect the fans in series, connect the control terminals with a cable, as indicated in the diagram below. Then connect the second to the third and so on.
  • Used shielded cable for the connection that has a wire section of at least 0.25 mm2 (not including in the delivery kit).
  • When the fans are connected in series, the power supply to each one must be connected separatelyaldes-Nano-Air-50-Residential-Heat-Recovery-Unit-fig-13

CONTROL

  • The Nano Air 50 is controlled using a remote control or by buttons located on the fan unit.
  • The buttons have limited functions: they can activate the second or third speed and set three out of the four ventilation modes. The remote control has many more functions. The wireless remote control has a maximum range of about 2 metres. Pressing for up to 5 seconds is necessary to validate each action.
  • The user must point the remote control towards the device’s IR cell at the bottom right of the fan unit for it to work satisfactorily. If there is a power cut, the unit will restart in its pre-cut mode.

*When the Nano Air are connected in series, they run according to the position of the jumpers to adjust the ventilation mode on the control board. Please refer to how to set the control mode on page 10.

Using the Nano Air with its wireless remote control

  • To use the Nano Air wireless remote control, the speed button has to be switched from position to run position .
  • When Night mode is activated, the device switches to the first speed when the lighting in the room is switched off at night. A long sound signals that the unit has been switched to night mode. A short sound signals that night mode has been switched off.aldes-Nano-Air-50-Residential-Heat-Recovery-Unit-fig-20 aldes-Nano-Air-50-Residential-Heat-Recovery-Unit-fig-21
