Detailed Menus

Menu Description
Start-up Allows you to restart the start-up wizard, as was done when the unit

was first started up.  This is not a factory reset: values already entered will be proposed again. To perform a factory reset, use the dedicated function.
Settings
Language| Customize the remote control language for the user and installer.
Installation Country| Allows the unit to adapt the menu to the country in question. Some functions (flow assistant, fire dampers, are specific to certain countries only).
Mode Regulation| Allows selection of product control mode:

-In France, only constant flow is possible. Outside France, constant speed is also standard.

-For constant pressure, a change of card is mandatory “constant pressure card kit”.

Configuration Level| Allows you to set each of the 4 ventilation levels: L0-Vacation / L1-Daily / L2-Pushbutton / L3-Boost. This setting, available for countries outside France, is in m3/h or in %, or in pa depending on the control system.
Housing Type| Based on the home’s characteristics, the unit automatically sets the flow rates for each ventilation level. This wizard is not available outside France.
Imbalance| Used to adjust an imbalance between air supply and air discharge. This single % value will apply to all fan speeds. This setting is only available in “self-adjusting” and “constant pressure” control modes.

Radon Mode

| Allows rapid adjustment of a 15% favourable imbalance between air supply and exhaust, permanently and for all speeds, based on ventilation recommendations for radon risk. This action can only be activated in constant flow control mode.
Open Fireplace| Enables the user, via the remote control menu, to initiate an imbalance of +15% in air supply compared to exhaust air for 2 hours, the time it takes for an open fireplace to burn at its best.
Timer Filters| Allows you to adjust the duration of the filter timer according to the characteristics of the dwelling, location or occupant’s needs: Possible values: from 6 to 12 months.
Units| Customize units C°, m3/h, etc.
T° Comfort| Allows you to set the air supply temperature between 16 and 23 degrees when an electric coil is installed.

Certifications

| Allows you to specify the type of dwelling and its possible PassivHaus certification. If so, the unit will adapt its defrosting strategy accordingly (no single insufflation motor cut-off allowed). Aldes recommends the “Non Passiv Haus” configuration if possible.
Factory Reset| Resets the unit to factory settings. A new start-up will be necessary.
Quick Adjustment| Allows correction of flow rates measured at vents by up to 10%. It is only available for the “self-adjusting” mode and the L1 and L2 speeds.
Connectivity
Sensors| Used to set parameters for various 0-10V sensors (see diagram)
Dry Contact| Used to set the status of the unit’s dry contact. Factory setting: NO (Normally Open). Alternative value: NC (Normally Closed).
Maintenance
Real Values| Allows you to examine in real time the various key values of the unit in operation: (flow setpoints, motor voltages, probe temperatures, etc.) for rapid maintenance diagnostics.
Demo Signal| Launches a demonstration phase of the different light signal colours (for InspirAIR TOP Premium only). Leaving this menu stops the demonstration.

Corporation-fig-1 \(14\)

Smart control based on the dwelling’s humidity

  • InspirAIR® has an integrated RH sensor in the unit on the dwelling’s extracted airstream.
  • A boost to the L3 ventilation level is started when the humidity value suddenly increases (in variance index above 8 points (not %). The humidity value is checked every minute.
  • In constant airflow mode, the speed change will be progressive – up to 5 minutes – in order not to disturb the end users in the home. In constant speed mode, the speed change will take effect faster – up to 2 minutes.
  • This boost lasts as long as the humidity value is above the original value with a maximum timer of 60 minutes. After this period, the unit will return to the previous active speed (manually or automatically or according to a weekly program).
  • If humidity is still high after 60 60-minute boost, Boost is activated again until humidity decreases with the next 60 minutes maximum.
  • This function can be disabled on the remote control.

Unit Software Update from USB Key
To update the software, follow the steps below:

  1. Stop the product (switch it off) [Open the metal trunking].
  2. Insert the USB key into USB port
  3. Switch the product back on
  4. Wait until the LED is green, or approx. 30s for the classic unit
  5. Remove USB key

Bypass Function

The bypass is controlled 100% automatically by the unit, according to the season that is registered by the unit.

Seasonal registration
The unit registers the ongoing season (summer or winter) by checking the outside air temperature every hour every day.

  • If the average of T is > 19°C or if T max. is > 28°C and T min. > 7°, we are in summer.
  • If the average T is < 19°C, or if T max. is < 28°C, we are in winter.
  • The season is registered 24 hours after starting the unit.
  • According to the season, the unit will give priority to heating the air in the heating element in winter or cooling the air in summer:Aldes-Ventilation-Corporation-Premium-22-Inspir-Air-TOP-Ventilation-Corporation-fig-1 \(15\)

Heat exchanger frost prevention strategy

  • Aldes recommends the use of an electric coil to reduce this risk.
  • In addition, the unit is equipped with a logic to prevent the formation of frost in the heat exchanger if the coil is not sufficient to guarantee an outside air temperature <-3° Celsius.
  • When “PassivHaus” mode is activated in the Installer > Settings > Certifications menu, unbalance is not allowed.
  • The unit may therefore have to switch off both motors temporarily.
  • In “non-PassivHaus” mode, the unit can reduce flow rates and then simply extract air from the dwelling to heat the heat exchanger (by temporarily stopping the supply air motor).

Weekly programming

  • InspirAIR® TOP offers three weekly programs for a quick adaptation of ventilation according to inhabitants’ needs: Classic – Eco – Comfort.
  • Indoor air sensors will continue to take the lead if some are installed (for example CO2 sensor in the controller).

Maintenance

  • Do not attempt to repair the unit yourself.
  • This device contains no user-serviceable parts.
  • Removing one of the covers may expose you to dangerous voltages.
  • Switching off the power supply is not sufficient to protect you from electric shocks (capacitors).
  • If you notice any abnormal noises, odours or smoke coming from the unit, disconnect the power supply and contact your installer.
  • Before cleaning, disconnect the unit from the power supply.
  • Do not use strong cleaning fluids or solvents to clean the unit.
  • Do not use a pressure washer to clean the air vents. You risk damaging the recovery core and allowing water to enter the electrical circuits.
