General power tool safety instructions
Work area safety

Keep the work area clean and well lit. Dark or cluttered areas could lead to accidents.

Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids or fumes, gases or dust. Power tools could create sparks
which may ignite the gases or fumes. -
Keep children and bystanders at a safe distance while operating the power tool.
Electrical safety

Make sure that power tool plugs match the outlet. Do not ever modify the plug in any way. Do not use adapter plugs with earthed power tools. Using
unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce the risk of electric shock. -
Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded materials or objects, such as radiators, pipes, ranges and refrigerators. There is an tremendous risk of electric
shock if the operator’s body is earthed or grounded. -
Do not expose power tools to rain or any other wet conditions. Water entering a power tool could increase the risk of electric shock.

Do not abuse the power cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the electric tool. Keep the cord in a safe distance from heat, oil, sharp
edges and any moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords will increase the risk of electric shock. -
When operating an electric power tool outdoors, use an extension cable which has the appropriate specifications for outdoor use. Use of a an extension
cable suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock. -
If operating a power tool in a damp location cannot be avoided, use a residual current device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of
electric shock
Personal safety

Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating the power tool. Do not use the power tool if you are feeling tired or are under
the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication. A moment of inattention while operating the power tool may result in serious personal injury. -
Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as a dust mask, or hearing protection, non-skid safety shoes or protective helmets, used in appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.

Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the power switch is in the off-position before connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the power tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the power switch or connecting power tools that have the switch in the on position to a power source can lead to accidents.

Remove any adjusting keys or wrenches before turning on the power tool. An adjusting key or a wrench left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.

Do not stretch out your arms too far when operating the power tool. Keep balance and proper footing at all times. This helps the operator have better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.

Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from any moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery and/or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
Power tool use and care
- Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for the each application. The correct power tool will always do the job better and safer when used as intended.
- Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn activate or deactivate it. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is extremely dangerous and must be repaired.
- Disconnect the main plug from the power source and/or the battery pack from the power tool before changing accessories, making any adjustments, or storing the power tool. Such preventive safety measures will reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
- When the power tool is not in use, store it as well as all of its accessories out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to use and operate the power tool. Power tools are extremely dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
- Maintain the power tool. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, leakage and any other issue that may affect the power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents and injuries are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
- Keep all the cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are more precise and easier to control.
- Always use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with the instructions of this instruction manual, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for applications different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
- Persons under 16 years of age are not permitted to operate this machine.
- Keep the handles and any grasping surfaces of the power tool dry, clean and free of oil and grease. Slippery handles and grasping surfaces do not allow for safe handling of the tool in unexpected circumstances.
Service
- Have the power tool serviced by qualified service personnel, using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
Additional safety instructions for rotary hammers

Always wear hearing protection. Prolonged exposure to high noise levels can cause hearing loss.

Hold the tool’s auxiliary handle at all times during operation of the tool. Loss of control can cause personal injury.

Wear protective goggles. While working with the power tool, sparks or flying splinters, shavings and dust can cause vision loss.

Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation where the cutting accessory may contact hidden wiring or its own cord.
Cutting accessory contacting a “live” wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool “live” and could give the operator an electric shock. -
Connect the power cord’s plug into a socket only when the tool is switched off.

Keep the power tool and all its accessories out of the reach of children.

When the power tool is not in use and before performing maintenance on the tool or adjusting it in any way (e.g removing a bit and attaching another), pull the power cord’s plug from the socket.

Only use accessories/bits that are compatible with the power tool.

INTENDED USE
The power tool is intended for hammer drilling concrete, bricks and stones. It is also suitable for chipping masonry, concrete and stones.

BEFORE OPERATION
Warning: Be careful of hidden electrical lines or gas and water pipes.
Check the working area with a metal detector.
Always use the correct input voltage
- The voltage of the power source must match the value indicated on the rating label of the machine.
Inserting bits
Attention: Do not use non SDS-max bits for hammer drilling or chiselling.
- Before inserting a bit into the tool holder (2), make sure that it is clean.
- Insert the bit into the tool holder (2) and twist it until it locks in place.
- Make sure that the bit has properly locked in place by tugging it and checking whether it stays in place or not
Removing bits
- Pull the locking sleeve (4) back and hold it while removing the bit.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Switch on : Pull the ON/OFF trigger (10).
Switch off : Release the ON/OFF trigger (10).
Locking button
- To lock the power tool in continuous operation without needing to keep the trigger pressed, push the locking button upward.
- To switch off the power tool when it is locked in continuous operation, briefly press the ON/OFF trigger (10) and then release it.
Overload clutch
- If the drill bit becomes jammed, the overload clutch will stop the tool.
- Always hold the power tool with both hands, making sure to hold the auxiliary handle (6) firmly to protect yourself from the forces that may be generated in case the overload clutch suddenly stops the tool.
Auxiliary handle
- The operator must always hold the auxiliary handle firmly when operating the tool.
- Note: Keep in mind that the tighter the grip on the handle, the greater the effects of vibration on your body, so make sure to not hold the handle too tightly.
- To maximise safety and comfort during operation of the power tool, the operator can rotate the auxiliary handle.
- Loosen the auxiliary handle by turning it counterclockwise, rotate the auxiliary handle and then tighten it in the new position.
Depth stop
- Insert the depth gauge into the clamp above the auxiliary handle.
- Adjust the drilling depth on the depth stop to the desired depth.
- Loosen the depth gauge clamp and lock the depth gauge.
Operating modes
Warning: When switching operating modes, press the ON/OFF trigger slightly.
Hammer drill mode (Fig. 2)
- Turn the operational mode selector (7) to the position.
Chisel mode (Fig. 3)
- Turn the operational mode selector (7) to the position.
Changing the chiselling position (Fig. 4-5)
- There are 12 chiselling positions. Choose the appropriate position for each application.
- Insert the chisel into the tool holder, turn the operational mode selector (7) to the position shown in figure 4, adjust the mode selector to the desired position, then switch the tool to chiselling mode to apply (Fig. 5).
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Warning: Before any maintenance procedure is carried out, turn off the power tool and pull the plug from the socket.
- To ensure proper and safe operation, always keep the power tool clean and make sure that the ventilation slots are unobstructed.
- Clean the tool holder daily
Replacing the dust protection cap
- Damaged dust protection caps should be replaced as soon as possible since dust that enters the tool holder (2) can cause malfunctions.
- Pull back and hold the locking sleeve (4). Remove the dust cap (3) with a suitable tool.
- With the locking sleeve pulled back, mount the new dust protection cap until it sits firmly over the tool holder and then slide the locking sleeve forward.
ENVIRONMENTAL DISPOSAL
In order to avoid damages on transportation, the tool has to be delivered in solid packaging. Packaging as well as the unit and accessories are made of recyclable materials and can be disposed accordingly. The tool’s plastics components are marked according to their material, which makes it possible to remove environmental friendly and differentiated because of available collection facilities.

WARRANTY
This power tool is a quality product. It was designed in compliance with current technical standards and made carefully using normal, good quality materials. The warranty period is 24 months for non-professional use, 12 months for professional use and commences on the date of purchase, which can be verified by the receipt, invoice or delivery note. During this warranty period all functional errors, which, despite the careful treatment described in our operating manual, are verifiably due to material flaws, will be rectified by our after-sales service staff . The warranty takes the form that defective parts will be repaired or replaced with perfect parts free of charge at our discretion. Replaced parts will become our property. Repair work or the replacement of individual parts will not extend the warranty period nor will it result in a new warranty period being commenced for the appliance. No separate warranty period will commence for spare parts that may be ted. We cannot offer a warranty for damage and defects on appliances or their parts caused by the use of excessive force, improper treatment and servicing. This also applies for failures to comply with the operating manual and the installation or spare and accessory parts that are not included in our range of products. In the event of interference with of modifications to the appliance by unauthorized persons, the warranty will be rendered void. Damages that are attributable to improper handling, over loading, or natural wear and tear are excluded from the guarantee. Damages caused by the manufacturer or by a material defect will be corrected at no charge by repair or by providing spare parts. The prerequisite is that the equipment is handed over assembled, and complete with the proof of sale and guarantee. For a guarantee claim, only use the original packaging. That way, we can guarantee quick and smooth guarantee processing. Please send us the appliances post-paid or request a Freeway sticker. Unfortunately we will be unable to accept appliances that are not postpaid. The warranty does not cover parts that are subject to natural wear and tear.
