Safety

Only qualified contractors should carry out installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of the kit.

General safety instructions
We guarantee trouble-free function and operational reliability only if original accessories and spare parts intended for the appliance are used.

Instructions, standards and regulations
Note
Observe all applicable national and regional regulations and instructions.

Intended use
The compact heat pump installation is intended for heating heat pumps without integral heating circuit pump.
Any other use beyond that described shall be deemed inappropriate. Observation of these instructions and of instructions for any accessories used is also part of the correct use of this appliance.

Kit description

The compact heat pump installation includes all required components for hydraulic connection of the heat pump to buffer cylinders with 200, 400 and 700 I capacity. Select and retrofit the heating circuit pump according to the system in DN 25.

Standard delivery
The kit is supplied in pre-assembled individual parts. All pre-assembled components are factory sealed.

Note
A gravity brake is fitted in the buffer cylinder connector.
The opening pressure is 400 mmWC.

Required accessories
– UP 25/7.5 PCV

Installation

Installation

  1. Connector with ball shut-off valve
    G 1 1/4 female thread heating flow

  2. Safety valve 0.3 MPa

  3. Temperature pressure gauge

  4. Connector with gravity brake

  5. G 1 1/4 male thread heat pump flow connector

  6. Connector with ball shut-off valve
    G 1 1/4 female thread heating return

  7. Ball shut-off valve

  8. Drain valve

  9. G 1 1/4 male thread heat pump return connector

  10. G 3/4 female thread expansion vessel connection

    • Screw the kit components and the heating circuit pump together and tighten by hand.
    • Fit the components and the heating circuit pump on the cylinder.
    • Retighten the fittings.
    • Fit the expansion vessel and the drain valve.
    • Fit the heat pump flow and return to the heat pump.

Note
The WPKI 5 safety valve must not be able to be isolated from the heat source.

Note
When there is a danger of frost in alternative operation, a drain valve must be installed on site to drain an external air source heat pump (WPL and connection hoses).

Note
All shut-off devices are tightly sealed ball shut-off valves.
Only use an open-ended spanner (AF 8) to open and close the ball shut-off valves.

Heating circuit pump (cylinder charging pump)

A corresponding heating circuit pump can be selected based on the characteristic curves for the pumps and the pressure loss from the compact heat pump installation.

Depending on the heat pump type, we recommend a heating circuit pump from the following table for a standard system.

Maintenance

**Replacing the safety valve

**

  • Replace the safety valve as shown in the diagram.
  • Install the new safety valve in reverse order.
  • Seal in the safety valve by turning the lock nut against the 0-ring.
