SARGENT 10 Line and 10X Line Bored Locks Latch Extension
Product Information
The Latch Extension Assembly is designed for use with 10 Line and 10X Line Bored Locks, and is suitable for use with 3-3/4 and 5 backsets. The assembly consists of a yoke assembly, extension housing, extension ears, latch ears, yoke fork, latch tailpiece, guardbolt, and assembly sleeve. Proper orientation of these components is critical for proper operation. This product may contain lead, which is known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.
Product Usage Instructions
- Insert the yoke assembly into the extension housing so that the yoke fork A faces the seam and cutaway B as shown in the diagram. Ensure that the orientation is correct as this is critical for proper operation.
- Assemble the extension assembly to the latch. Ensure that the extension ears C engage with latch ears D, and simultaneously the yoke fork A engages latch tail E.
- After assembly, ensure that the seam and cutaway B are on the same side as the deadlocking guardbolt. Then assemble the sleeve to hold both latch and latch extension.
- Test the deadlocking of the latch by pressing and holding the guardbolt. The latchbolt must block if pressed. Test the retraction of the latch by pressing the latchbolt and pulling on tailpieceF.

For proper installation, it is very important to assemble the latch
extension on the latch in the position shown.

Insert yoke assembly into extension housing so that the yoke fork “A” faces the seam and cutaway “B” as shown. This orientation is critical for proper operation. This completes the extension assembly.

Assemble extension assembly to latch. Ensure extension ears “C” engage with latch ears “D”, and simultaneously the yoke fork “A” engages latch tail “E”.

After assembly, the seam and cutaway “B” need to be in the same side as deadlocking guardbolt. Then assemble sleeve to hold both latch and latch extension.

Test the deadlocking of the latch: Press and hold guardbolt. Latchbolt must block, if pressed. Test the retraction of the latch by pressing the latchbolt and pulling on tailpiece “F”.
