Product Information

The myQ Smart Garage Control Hub is a device that allows you to control and monitor your garage door using the myQ app. It is compatible with sectional doors only. The device is registered under the trademarks myQ, Chamberlain, LiftMaster, and Smart Garage, which are owned by The Chamberlain Group LLC. The product is protected by patents, and more information can be found at chamberlaingroup.com/patents. The model numbers supported by this device are MYQ-G0402 and 821LMC-SENSOR.

Product Usage Instructions

Add a New Door Sensor to a Second Garage Door Opener:

  1. Open the myQ app on your smartphone or tablet.
  2. Follow the instructions provided in the app to add a new door sensor to your second garage door opener.

Replace an Existing Door Sensor:

  1. If the current door sensor is still operating and connected to a garage door opener, press the test button on the existing door sensor. The hub will beep once if it is door 1 or beep twice if it is door 2.
  2. If the current door sensor does not work and you have two door sensors connected to the hub, press the test button on the other door sensor. The hub will beep once if it is door 1 or beep twice if it is door 2.
  3. Select the corresponding button on the hub for your new door sensor.
  4. Remove the pull tab from the new door sensor to activate the battery.
  5. On the hub, press the button for door 1 or 2 (depending on the information from steps 1 and 2). A solid amber LED light will appear.
  6. On the new door sensor, press and release the test button. The hub will flash and beep, indicating successful programming.

Mount the Door Sensor:
Install the new door sensor on the top panel of your garage door, with the top facing up. You can use the included fastening strips or optional screws to securely mount the door sensor.

Test Door Sensor Battery:
Test your door sensor every 6 months or if the myQ system is not working as expected. Press and release the test button on the doorsensor. The LED on the door sensor should blink, and the hub should beep. Repeat this test 5 more times, waiting 5 seconds between eachtest. If the LED doesn’t blink or the hub doesn’t beep with each press, replace the battery in the door sensor with a K010A0056 Door Sensor 3V Battery (CR2450).

This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC rules and Industry Canada’s license-exempt RSSs. It is designed to avoid harmful interference and accept any interference received. Any changes or modifications not approved by the responsible party may void the user’s authority to operate the equipment. Install the device witha minimum distance of 20 cm (8 in.) between users/bystanders and the device. The device has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device under FCC rules and IndustryCanada ICES standard, providing reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation.

WARNING:

To reduce the risk of SEVERE INJURY to persons:

  • DO NOT enable the Smart Garage Control if operating either one-piece or swinging doors. Enable this device with sectional doors ONLY.

Within the US: The Smart Garage Control is not intended for use with garage door openers in which the photoelectric sensors located near the bottom of the garage door change power mode (e.g., lights on the sensors turn off after the door is closed), or anyChamberlain Group opener with a yellow learn button manufactured between 2010 and 2021, or any Linear opener.

NOTE : Your Hub has the capacity to program two Door Sensors. This Sensor can either be added to a second Garage Door Opener or replace an existing inoperable Door Sensor

TO ADD A NEW DOOR SENSOR TO A SECOND GARAGE DOOR OPENER GO TO THE myQ APP

TO REPLACE AN EXISTING DOOR SENSOR

  1. If the current Door Sensor is still operating and connected to a Garage Door Opener, press the test button on the existing Door Sensor. The Hub beeps one time if the current Door Sensor is door 1 or beeps twice if door 2. 2. If the current Door Sensor does not work and you have  two Door Sensors connected to the Hub, press the testbutton on the other Door Sensor. The Hub will beep once if the other Door Sensor is door 1 or beep twice if door
  2. You will need to select the other button on the Hub for your new Door Sensor.
  3. Remove the pull tab from the new Door Sensor to activate the battery.
  4. On the Hub, press the button for door 1 or 2, depending on the information from steps 1 and 2 above. A solid amber LED light will appear.
  5. On the new Door Sensor, press and release the Test button. The Hub will flash and beep indicating successful programming.
  6. Mount Door Sensor (instructions to the right).

TEST DOOR SENSOR BATTERY
Test your Door Sensor every 6 months or if the myQ system is not working as expected Press and release the test button on the Door Sensor, the LED on the Door Sensor shouldblink and the Hub should beep. Wait 5 seconds, then repeat this test 5 more times (wait 5 seconds between each test). If the LED doesn’t blink or the Hub doesn’t beep with each press, replace the battery in the Door Sensor.

Replacement Part : K010A0056 Door Sensor 3V Battery, CR2450.
